Dinger delivers to Morrison, who had three homers in a win over the Fish Sticks
The Caucasian Vaginas came from four runs down to win in dramatic style, as Guthrie hit a walk-off home run of Fish Sticks’ Dinger in the bottom of the sixth for the 7-6 win.
The Fish Sticks came into their week 3 matchup with the Caucasian Vaginas having only lost one game, that loss coming at the hands of the Vaginas. A win would have secured a tie atop the lead standings.
The Gay Fish sent their ace, Dinger, to the mound, as the Caucasians sent southpaw Morrison. After Dinger grounded out to start the game, the Fish Sticks scored first, when Joey hit a solo homer to put the Sticks up 1-0. Dinger gave up a hit to Guthrie in the bottom half of the first, but didn’t allow a run.
Dinger grounded out to lead off the second inning, followed by a Joey double. Joey was driven in when Blose hit his first blast of the game, moving the Fish Sticks lead to 3-0. Morrison got Dinger to ground out to end the threat. Down three, the Vaginas were retired in order in the bottom of the second.
Morrison retired Joey to lead off the third, and Blose hit his second home run of the game, a solo shot, to move the Sticks lead to 4-0. Morrison retaliated in the bottom half of the third, when he led off the inning with a solo home run of his own, putting the Vaginas on the board and cutting the deficit to three runs.
After retiring Joey to start the fourth, Morrison gave up a third blast to Blose, a titanic bomb to deep right field. The homer extended the Fish Sticks lead to 5-1. Dinger singled following the homer, but was stranded at first when Joey flew out to the pitcher.
Down four, the Vaginas rallied in the bottom of the fourth. Les ground-rule doubled when his blast to left got stuck in the tree. Dinger retired Guthrie, but then gave up a two run bomb to Morrison, his second of the day, which cut the score to 5-4. Les doubled again, and was driven in on a Guthrie single. Dinger then retired Morrison to end the fourth inning.
Blose led off the top of the fifth with his fourth home run of the game, his fourth in as many at-bats, and moved the Fish Sticks lead to 6-4. Dinger doubled following the homer, but was stranded on second when Morrison retired Joey, and then Blose for the first time since his first at-bat, to minimize the damage.
Les led off the bottom of the sixth with a homer to cut the score to 6-5, and following a Guthrie fly-out to the mound, Morrison hit his third bomb of the game, tying the game at 6 apiece. Dinger got Les to ground out to left to end the inning, sending the game into the sixth tied.
Morrison retired Dinger and Joey in order in the sixth, avoiding facing the red-hot Blose and giving his team a chance to win with a run in the bottom of the sixth. It didn’t take long, as Guthrie led off the bottom of the sixth with a solo home run to left field, giving the Caucasians the 7-6 win.
Game Notes:
– Guthrie’s walk-off homer was the first in league history
– Both teams played with only three players
– Morrison survived a line drive comebacker to the mound off Blose’s bat, the first we’ve seen this year.
– Blose’s four homers in four consecutive at-bats has never been accomplished before.
I think Morrison’s toe-shoes were the only thing that could compete with Blose’s power that day. The CaucVag’s are glad we came away with a victory.
Also, has anyone verified that Blose was not using PED’s? Was the real reason he went to the “airport” so he could get his wiffleboner taken care of??
