Fish Sticks Bats Quieted by Higgins in 3-1 Win for Caucasians

Frosty of the Caucasians battles Joey of Fish Sticks in a 3-1 Caucasian win

In his only hit of the day, Matt capitalized on fielding and throwing errors by the Fish Sticks, driving in two runs and himself for an inside-the-park home run and leading the Caucasians to a 3-1 victory.

Higgins also started on the mound, his first pitching appearance, and retired Dinger and Joey in the top of the first. The Fish Sticks sent Joey to the mound, and he retired Frosty and Morrison in order in the bottom half of the first.

Blose was the first to hit Higgins, crushing a solo homer to lead off the top of the first, making the score 1-0. Dinger followed with a single, but was stranded on base when Joey and Blose were retired to end the inning.

Down a run, Matt and Cory were retired in order in the bottom half of the second, and Joey was perfect through two innings.

Dinger led off the top of the third by grounding out to left field, and Joey followed with a single. But with one out, Blose stranded the runner on base, as he flew out to end the top of the third.

Frosty grounded out to left to start the bottom of the third, but Morrison got the Vaginas first hit of the game when a fly ball to left fell in for a single. He was stranded at first though, when Matt grounded out to left to end the third.

Higgins retired Dinger and Joey in order in the top of the fourth to keep the score at 1-0. In the bottom of the fourth, Cory left off by grounding out to left for the first out of the inning. Frosty lined a single to center with one out, and Morrison had another fly ball fall in for a single, putting runners at first and second with one out. Higgins stepped to the plate, and his liner fell into play for a hit. The Fish Sticks couldn’t handle the ball well, and throwing errors led to runners advancing. Multiple plays were unable to be made, and after crossing home safely, Higgins had hit an inside-the-park homer driving in three runs, and putting the Caucasians up 3-1. Joey then retired Cory to end the fourth, with the Fish Sticks down two.

Blose and Dinger were retired in order in the top of the fifth, and Joey retired Frosty and Morrison in order in the bottom half of the inning the keep the score 3-1.

Down to their last bat in the top of the sixth, Joey and Blose were retired in order, as Higgins held on for the win and the Caucasians moved to 9-3 on the year.
