The Caucasians celebrate after the first of Morrison's two HR in a 5-4 win over the Dentists

In the debut of the Rat-Suit, the Caucasians beat 4 out of 5 Dentists 5-4 in 7 innings behind Morrison’s big day at the plate.

Ron started on the mound for the Dentists, and faced Rat-Man aka Guthrie to start the game. The Rat got his first and only hit of the week, leading off the game with a single. Frosty followed with a single, but Rat was tagged out trying to advance to second for the first out of the inning. Ron then retired Morrison by groundout for a scoreless top half of the first inning.

Rat started on the mound for the Caucasians, and pitched well early. He retired Ron for the first out, then struck out Chris, who had trouble with Rat-Man all day.

Ron was perfect on the mound in the second inning, retiring both Les and Rat by groundout.

Marr led off the bottom of the second by grounding out to left field, and then free agent pick-up Kyle singled with one out. Ron followed with a one-out double, pushing Kyle to third and putting two runners in scoring position for Chris. But he couldn’t shake the Rat Spell, as he struck out for the second consecutive time, stranding two runners.

Frosty singled to start the top of the third inning, and Morrison broke the scoreless tie by crushing a two-run bomb, putting the Caucasians up 2-0. Ron avoided giving up a big inning, however, as he retired Les and Rat to end the inning only surrendering two runs.

It didn’t take long for the Dentists to even things up, as they finally got to the Rat. Marr led off the inning with a solo homer, and Kyle made it back-to-back home runs when he followed with a solo home run, tying the game at 2-2. Rat then retired Ron and Chris in order, and the game was tied after three innings.

Ron pitched a scoreless fourth inning, fanning Frosty to lead off the inning then getting Morrison to groundout to center field for the second out of the inning.

With the score 2-2, Marr tripled to lead off the bottom of the fourth, and scored when Kyle hit his second home run of the night, putting the Dentists ahead 4-2. Rat avoided a longer Dentists’ rally though, retiring Ron and Chris to end the fourth.

Down two runs, the Caucasians evened things up quick. Les led off the top of the fifth with a solo blast, cutting the score to 4-3. Rat flew out to the mound for the first out of the inning, but Frosty followed with a single. The next batter, Morrison, also singled, but Frosty incredibly scored from first base on the play, tying the game at 4-4. Les was retired for the second out of the inning, stranding Morrison at first.

After giving up two runs in the bottom of the fourth, Rat fell into a groove in the bottom of the fifth. He retired Marr and Kyle in order, keeping the game tied.

The Caucasians couldn’t take the lead in the top of the sixth, as Ron retired Guthrie and Frosty in order.

The Dentists needed a run to end the game in the bottom of the sixth, but Rat got Ron and Chris to each fly out in the bottom of the sixth, sending the game to extra innings.

As soon as the extra frames began, Morrison, the first batter in the top of the seventh, led off the inning with a solo homer, his second of the game, putting the Caucasians ahead 5-4. Les and Rat were retired to end the seventh, and the Dentists came to the plate needing a run to extend the game.

Rat retired Mar by groundout for the first out of the bottom of the seventh. Kyle singled to keep the rally alive, bringing Ron to the plate with one out. Ron crushed a deep fly ball to left field, and it appeared as if he had hit a walk-off two-run game winning homer. But the ball caught the edge of the tree and barely fell into play, where Frosty caught the ball for the final out of the game, giving the Caucasians a 5-4 win.

The Rat was a little worried the Dentists had set a trap for him when they went up 4-2. But thanks to the timely hitting and stellar Vagina defense that kept the opposition from scoring, his team was able to come away with a victory.
I can’t think of any games that were closer to going the other way than that one. Ron’s final hit stayed in the park by a mere Rat’s whisker.
