In his first pitching appearance of 2016, Bob was dominant on the mound, scattering four hits against the Ham Slams in a 4-0 complete game shutout, and pulling his team to within a game of first place in the standings.

For the second consecutive matchup, Tim was the starting pitcher for the Ham Slams against Questionable Outfit. Things did not start well, as Bob, the game’s first batter, launched a solo homer to right-center, and Questionable Outfit led 1-0 immediately. Tim regrouped, however, and retired the next two Questionable batters to end the inning. In the bottom of the first, Bob retired the side in order, sending Josh and Dan down consecutively.

Questionable would provide more run support for Bob in the top of the second. Bob singled with one out and moved to second on a Tom single. With runners on first and second, Mike doubled, scoring Bob to make the score 2-0. Questionable had two runners in scoring position and were threatening, but Tim retired Nate for the second out, ending the inning and stranding the runners. Tim led off the bottom of the second with a double, but the Ham Slams couldn’t capitalize, as Bob retired Adam and Josh to end the inning.

Questionable would add another run in the top of the third. Tom singled with one out, and he moved to second when Mike followed with a single. With runners on first and second, Nate doubled, scoring Tom and the score was 3-0. Once again Questionable had runners on second and third, but Tim avoided further damage, retiring Bob to end the inning. Tim led off the bottom of the third with a triple, but the Ham Slams couldn’t provide any run support, as Bob retired Josh and Dan to end the inning and maintain the three-run lead.

Mike would double with one out in the top of the fourth, but Tim retired Nate to strand the runner and end the inning. The Ham Slams went in order in the bottom of the fourth, and the score remained 3-0.

Tom singled with one out in the top of the fifth, but Tim continued to keep Questionable in check, striking out Mike to end the inning.

It looked like the Ham Slams would rally in the bottom of the fifth. Adam singled with one out, and he moved from first to third when Josh followed with a double. The Ham Slams had two runners in scoring position and the tying run at the plate, but Bob continued to stifle the Slams bats, as Dan was retired for the second out of the inning, stranding both runners.

Nate led off the top of the sixth with a single, and he moved to second on a Bob groundout. Tom then hit a one-out single off the fence, scoring Nate from second to make the score 4-0. Tim then retired Mike to end the inning, and the Slams would head into the bottom of the sixth trailing by four.

Bob remained on the mound to close things out for Questionable, and he did so in a hurry. He retired Tim and Adam consecutively, ending the game and giving Questionable Outfit a 4-0 victory.

The win moved Questionable Outfit to 4-1 on the season, and the loss dropped the Ham Slams to 1-4.
