Despite playing without two-time Wiffler of the Year Thomas, and in the midst of a four game losing streak, Shady Characters met the undefeated defending champion Guac Boys head on, as Zach, Tom, and Lucas powered the former champs to an 11-4 win, handing Guac Boys their first loss of the 2026 season. Zach continued to swing a hot bat at the top of the lineup, Tom went 5-for-6 and surged to the top of the batting average leaderboard, and Lucas pitched a complete game win, providing his own run support with two deep shots, as Shady Characters earned a big victory without their most productive player.
Bohn started on the mound for Guac Boys, and he fell behind early. Zach led off the game with a solo homer, his third leadoff homer in the first six games of 2026, and Shady Characters led 1-0. Billy followed with a solo shot of his own, and the back-to-back jacks gave Shady Characters a 2-0 lead. Tom K and Lucas followed with consecutive singles before Nate struck out. Zach hit a one-out RBI single to score Tom K, extending the lead to 3-0. Shady Characters had two runners on, but Bohn escaped the inning, retiring Billy for the second out.
Lucas took the mound for Shady Characters, and Alec answered immediately in the bottom of the first with a leadoff homer, cutting the deficit to 3-1. Bohn followed with a single, but Lucas stranded him, retiring Form and Tone to end the inning.
Tom K singled to begin the top of the second, but Lucas and Nate were both retired as Bohn kept the deficit at two runs.
Brum flew out and Alec grounded out as Lucas worked a quick bottom of the second.
Shady Characters broke the game open in the top of the third. Zach doubled to begin the inning, and two batters later, Tom K hit a two-run homer, extending the lead to 5-1. Lucas followed with a solo shot, making the score 6-1. Nate singled, but the rally ended there, as Bohn retired Zach to end the inning, and Guac Boys trailed by five runs.
Bohn led off the bottom of the third with a solo homer, cutting the score to 6-2. Lucas avoided further damage, retiring Form and Tone to end the inning.
Guac Boys turned to their bullpen in the top of the fourth, bringing Tone to the mound in relief of Bohn. Billy singled, and two batters later, Lucas connected for his second homer of the game, a two-run shot that extended the Shady Characters lead to 8-2. Nate grounded out to end the inning.
Brum and Alec opened the bottom of the fourth with consecutive singles before Bohn drove in Brum with an RBI single, cutting the deficit to 8-3. Tone later flew out to end the inning, stranding two runners.
Zach led off the top of the fifth with his second homer of the game, extending the Shady Characters lead to 9-3. Tom K doubled with one out, but Tone avoided further damage, retiring Lucas to end the inning.
Brum answered with a solo homer in the bottom of the fifth, cutting the deficit to 9-4. Lucas continued to keep the Guac Boys offense in check, however, retiring Alec and Bohn to end the inning.
Nate singled to begin the top of the sixth, and two batters later, Billy hit an RBI triple to score him, pushing the lead to 10-4. Tom K followed with an RBI double to score Billy, and Shady Characters led 11-4. Tone retired Lucas to end the inning, stranding Tom at second, and Guac Boys trailed by seven runs heading into the final frame.
Lucas remained on the mound to close things out in the sixth, and Form and Tone were retired in order to give Shady Characters an 11-4 victory.
The win moved Shady Characters to 2-4 on the season while Guac Boys suffered their first loss of 2026, falling to 5-1.
