Cheap Goats continued to ride the wave of momentum that started with their dramatic game 2 win, and it became a tsunami in Game 4. They jumped out to a 17-0 lead, putting the game out of reach almost immediately, crushing eight home runs over the first four innings to defeat Jack Shack 21-4, winning their best-of-five first-round playoff series 3-1, and advancing to the Wiffle Series Championship for the second consecutive season. Joey homered four times, Conor went deep three times and drove in seven runs, Christian hit for the cycle for the first time in his career, Kevin and Courtlen each had four extra-base hits, and Dinger compiled five base hits, as Cheap Goats put together one of the most enormous offensive displays in league history.
With a chance to close out the series, Cheap Goats wasted no time putting pressure on Jon D. Joey led off the game with a home run, his second leadoff homer of the series, and Kevin and Courtlen followed with back-to-back doubles to put two runners in scoring position with no outs. Christian flew out for the first out, but Dinger delivered a two-run single to give Cheap Goats a 3-0 lead. Jon D retired Conor to escape the inning.
Christian took the mound for Cheap Goats and quickly retired Josh and Jon M in order, sending Cheap Goats back to the plate with a three-run advantage.
The game broke open in the top of the second. Joey led off with his second home run in as many at-bats, and Kevin followed with a solo homer of his own. The back-to-back homers gave Cheap Goats a 5-0 lead. Courtlen doubled before Christian drove him home with an RBI triple, extending the lead to 6-0. Dinger followed with an RBI double to score Christian, and Jack Shack trailed 7-0. Conor then launched a two-run homer as the Cheap Goats lead continued to grow to 9-0. Jon D briefly slowed the rally by retiring Joey, but Kevin tripled with one out and Courtlen brought him home with an RBI double to make the score 10-0. Christian followed with a two-run homer, and with the score 12-0, Jack Shack finally made a call to the bullpen, bringing Josh to the mound in relief of Jon D. Dinger and Conor greeted him with back-to-back singles, but Josh retired Joey to strand both runners and finally bring the marathon inning to an end.
Jack Shack had no answer in the bottom of the second. Christian retired Jacob and Jon D in order, and Cheap Goats carried a 12-0 lead into the third.
Josh delivered Jack Shack’s first scoreless inning in the top of the third, retiring Kevin and Courtlen in order, but Christian matched him in the bottom half of the inning. Dave grounded out and Josh flew out as Christian completed three perfect innings to open the game.
Cheap Goats went back to work in the fourth. Christian led off with a double and Dinger followed with a single before Conor launched a three-run homer, his second bomb of the game, pushing the score to 15-0. Joey then went deep for the third time in the game, and Kevin followed with another solo shot. Cheap Goats went back-to-back-to-back, and the score was 17-0. Josh retired Courtlen, and after a Christian single, Dinger flew out to end another big inning with Cheap Goats now holding a commanding seventeen-run lead.
Jack Shack finally got on the board in the bottom of the fourth. Jon M led off with a triple before Jacob flew out, and Jon D followed with a two-run homer to make the score 17-2. Dave and Josh then went back-to-back with solo homers, suddenly giving Jack Shack three consecutive home runs and cutting the deficit to 17-4. With the Wiffle Series now within reach, Cheap Goats turned to Conor out of the bullpen. He retired Jon M to end the four-run rally and keep Jack Shack from drawing any closer.
Conor groundout to start the top of the fifth, and Joey followed with his fourth home run of the game, extending the Cheap Goats lead to 18-4. Josh retired Kevin to end the inning.
Jon D doubled with one out in the bottom of the fifth, but Conor retired Dave to strand him and send Cheap Goats into the sixth with a thirteen run lead.
Cheap Goats continued to rain offense down on Jack Shack, adding a few insurance runs in the sixth. Courtlen led off the inning with a solo homer, pushing the lead to 19-4. Josh fanned Christian for the first out, and Dinger followed with a double. Conor launched his third home run of the game, a two-run shot that pushed the lead to 21-4. Joey added a double for his fifth hit of the game before Josh retired Kevin to strand the runner and end the inning with Jack Shack trailing by sixteen runs.
Jack Shack entered the bottom of the sixth needing a miracle to keep its season alive, but Conor made sure there would be no late rally. He struck out Josh and retired Jon M on a fly ball to end the game, clinching the 21-4 victory and sending Cheap Goats back to the Wiffle Series.
After dropping Game 1, Cheap Goats won three consecutive games to take the series 3-1 and advance to the 2026 EWL Wiffle Series Championship. They will contend for the league title for the second consecutive season.
