Jon M posted the strongest pitching outing of the young 2026 season, scattering two runs on only four hits and striking out one as Jack Shack moved to .500 on the season with a 6-2 win over Cheap Goats. Jacob and Jon D were the only Jack Shack players with multiple hits in a defensive battle, with Jacob going 2-for-3 with a single, a solo homer, and two runs scored, and Jon D going 2-for-3 with two doubles, two runs scored, and an RBI.
Cheap Goats got on the board early in the top of the first. Joey opened the game with a double, and two batters later, Courtlen drove Joey in with an RBI double, giving Cheap Goats a 1-0 lead. Christian followed with a single, putting runners on the corners, but Jon M got Dinger to fly out, stranding the runners and ending the inning.
Dinger started on the mound for Jack Shack and retired Josh and Jon M in order in the bottom of the first.
Conor and Joey each grounded out in the top of the second as Jon M began to settle in on the mound.
Jack Shack answered in the bottom of the second. Jacob led off the inning with a single before Jon D connected on an RBI double, tying the game at 1-1. Two batters later, Josh hit an RBI double to score Jon D, giving Jack Shack a 2-1 lead. Jon M belted a two-run homer, extending the lead to 4-1. Jacob grounded out, and Dinger escaped the inning.
Joey and Kevin were both retired in the top of the fifth as Jon M worked another scoreless inning.
Jon D doubled to begin the bottom of the third before Dave drove him in with an RBI double, extending the Jack Shack lead to 5-1. Dinger retired Josh and Jon M to end the inning, and Jack Shack led by four runs.
Christian grounded out to begin the top of the fourth before Dinger launched a solo homer to left, cutting the deficit to 5-2. Conor later flew out to end the inning.
Jack Shack answered immediately in the bottom of the fourth. Jacob led off the inning with a solo homer, pushing the lead back to four runs at 6-2. Dinger then retired Jon D and Dave to end the inning.
Joey and Kevin were both retired in the top of the fifth as Jon M worked another scoreless inning.
Josh and Jon M were retired in order in the bottom of the fifth, and Cheap Goats would need four runs in the top of the sixth.
Jon M remained on the mound to close things out, and he made quick work of Cheap Goats in the top of the sixth. He retired Kevin and Courtlen in order, and Jack Shack secured a 6-2 victory.
The win moved Jack Shack to 2-2 on the season while Cheap Goats dropped to 1-3.
