Courtlen Powers Cheap Goats to 8-4 Victory Over Jack Shack

Courtlen led Cheap Goats in an 8-4 victory over Jack Shack, going 4-for-4 with two singles, two home runs, four runs scored, and three RBI

Courtlen went 4-for-4 with two singles, two home runs, four runs scored, and three RBI, leading Cheap Goats to an 8-4 win over Jack Shack, pulling Cheap Goats even with Jack Shack for third in the season standings. Joey also went 3-for-4 with two singles and a home run, Christian had a double, a two-run homer and three RBI, and Dinger pitched five innings of relief to earn the win on the mound.

Christian started for Cheap Goats, and the first batter he faced, Josh, hit a leadoff homer for the third consecutive game. Christian retired the next two batters to end the inning, and Jack Shack led 1-0.

Jon D took the mound for Jack Shack, and he allowed a leadoff single to Joey. The next batter, Courtlen, also singled, but Joey was caught in between first and second on the play for the first out of the inning. Christian followed with a double, scoring Courtlen, and the game was tied at 1-1. Dinger then singled, scoring Christian from second, and Cheap Goats led 2-1. Jon D retired Kevin to strand Dinger at first, ending the inning.

Jack Shack bounced back in the top of the second. Jacob singled on a line drive that hit Christian in the face, causing a minor laceration due from his sunglasses. Dinger was brought to the mound from the bullpen, and the first batter he faced, Ryan, hit a two-run homer, giving Jack Shack a 3-2 lead. Dinger then struck out Josh and retired Jon M to end the inning, and Cheap Goats trailed by a run.

Cheap Goats pulled back ahead in the bottom of the second. Joey led off the inning with a solo homer, tying the game at 3-3. Courtlen singled, and Christian, fresh off the facial injury, crushed a two-run homer to right, putting Cheap Goats in front 5-3. Dinger doubled, but Jon D retired Kevin and Joey to strand him at second, ending the inning, and Jack Shack were behind by two runs.

Dinger rolled through the top of the third, retiring Jon D and Jacob in order.

Courtlen led off the bottom of the third with a solo homer, extending the Cheap Goats lead to 6-3. Jon D retired Christian and Dinger to end the inning, and Cheap Goats led by three runs.

Dinger once again was effective in the top of the fourth, retiring Ryan and Josh, and the score remained 6-3.

Jon D struck out Kevin to start the bottom of the fourth. Joey followed with a single, and Courtlen drove him in with a two-run homer to center, extending the Cheap Goats lead to 8-3. Jon D retired Christian to end the inning, and Jack Shack trailed by five runs.

Jon M led off the top of the fifth with a solo homer, cutting the deficit to 8-4. Jon D followed with a double, but Dinger stranded him, retiring Jacob and Ryan to end the inning, and Cheap Goats led by four runs.

Jon D retired Cheap Goats in order in the bottom of the fifth, retiring Dinger and Kevin consecutively, and Jack Shack would need four runs in the top of the sixth.

Dinger remained on the mound to close things out in the top of the sixth, and he was efficient. He retired Josh and Jon M in order, ending the inning and the game, giving Cheap Goats an 8-4 victory.

The win moved Cheap Goats to 5-8 on the season, and the loss dropped Jack Shack to 5-8 with the teams tied for third in the season standings.

Tom’s Two-Run Walk-Off Homer Caps Epic 10-9 Shady Characters Win Over Guac Boys

After colliding in the 2023 Wiffle Series, Shady Characters and Guac Boys have been battling for control of first place in the season standings throughout the 2024 season. Guac Boys went into the midway point of the season with a two game lead over their rivals, but after Shady Characters outlasted them in one of the best games of the 2024 season, Shady Characters pulled even into a tie for first place with seven games to go. An epic back-and-forth game with several lead changes ended when Tom came to the plate with a runner on second and Shady Characters trailing 9-8 in the bottom of the seventh inning. He crushed a two-run bomb to right-center, and his walk-off gave Shady Characters both a 10-9 win and a split for first place in the standings. Tom, Nate, and Thomas each contributed four hits and outdueled Form, Tone, and Jan, who had three hits apiece for Guac Boys.

Tom started on the mound for Shady Characters, and he retired Alec and Bohn in order in the top of the first.

Tom provided his own run support to start the game, hitting a leadoff homer off Guac Boys’ starter, Bohn, in the bottom of the first. Nate doubled, and Thomas followed with a two-run homer, putting Shady Characters ahead 3-0. Bohn retired Lucas and Tom to end the inning, and Guac Boys trailed by three runs.

Form led off the top of the second with a solo homer, cutting the score to 3-1. Jude followed with a double, but Tom stranded him, retiring Tone and Jan to end the inning.

Nate started the bottom of the second with a single, but Bohn stranded him, retiring Thomas and Lucas, and the score remained 3-1.

Bohn hit a one-out single in the top of the third, but Guac Boys couldn’t capitalize, as Tom retired Form to strand the runner at first, ending the inning.

Tom started the bottom of the third with a double, but Bohn fanned Nate and then retired Thomas to strand the runner, and the Shady Characters lead remained at two runs.

Guac Boys pulled even in the top of the fourth. Jude doubled, and he scored when Tone followed with an RBI triple that cut the Shady Characters lead to 3-2. Jan then tripled, scoring Tone, and the game was tied 3-3. Tom retired Alec and Bohn to strand Jan at third, and Guac Boys had evened the score.

The tie wouldn’t last long, and Shady Characters reclaimed the lead in the bottom of the fourth. Lucas led off with a double, and he moved to third when Tom followed with a single. With no outs and runners on the corners, Nate hit a three-run homer, putting Shady Characters back on top 6-3. Thomas followed with a single, but when Lucas grounded out to the mound for the first out of the inning, Thomas was doubled up, ending the inning.

Guac Boys immediately responded in the top of the fifth. Form led off the inning with a triple, and two batters later, Tone hit an RBI single to score him, and Guac Boys traield 6-4. Jan followed with a two-run homer, tying the game at 6-6. Tom retired Alec for the second out of the inning, and Guac Boys had pulled even for the second consecutive inning.

Bohn rolled through the bottom of the fifth, retiring Tom and Nate in order, and the score was tied 6-6 heading into the sixth inning.

Tom retired Bohn to start the top of the sixth, but Form followed with his second homer of the game, a solo shot that gave Guac Boys their first lead of the game, 7-6. Tom retired Jude to end the inning, and Shady Characters would head into the bottom of the sixth trailing for the first time.

Thomas led off the bottom of the sixth with his second homer of the game, a solo shot that tied the game at 7-7. Shady Characters had a chance to put the game away, but Bohn escaped, retiring Lucas and Tom to end the inning, forcing the game to extras.

Tom remained on the mound in the top of the seventh, and he got into trouble. Tone led off the inning with a single, and he moved from first to third when Jan doubled. Guac Boys had two runners in scoring position with no outs and a chance to reclaim the lead in extra innings. Tom got the next batter, Alec, to ground out to left, but Tone scored on the play, putting Guac Boys in front 8-7. Bohn then singled, scoring Jan, and Guac Boys led 9-7. Tom struck out Form to end the inning, and Shady Characters would need another rally to extend the game.

For the second consecutive inning, the first batter for Shady Characters led off with a solo homer. This time it was Nate, and the solo shot cut the score to 9-8. Thomas then doubled, putting the tying runner in scoring position and the winning run at the plate. Bohn retired Lucas for the first out, putting Guac Boys an out away from an impressive come-from-behind victory. It wouldn’t play out that way, however. Tom came to the plate and launched a walk-off two-run homer, ending the game in dramatic fashion and giving Shady Characters an incredible 10-9 victory.

The win moved Shady Characters to 8-5 on the season, tied with Guac Boys, who fell to 8-5 with the loss.

Josh of Jack Shack Named Pabst Blue Ribbon Wiffler of the Week

Josh has been on a tear over the last month, crushing opposing pitchers during one of the hottest streaks of his wiffle career, and opposing teams almost expect him to leadoff games with a homer. He led off both week 6 games with home runs, carried Jack Shack to two victories to start the second half, and he was voted Wiffler of the Week for week 6 of the 2024 season.

In an 11-7 win over Cheap Goats, Josh went 4-for-7 with a double, a triple, two home runs, three runs scored, and five RBI.

In a 14-3 win over Shady Characters, he went 5-for-7 with a single, a double, three home runs, four runs scored, and seven RBI.

In total, Josh had what may have been the best week of his wiffle career, going 9-for-14 with a single, two doubles, a triple, five home runs (two leadoff homers), seven runs scored, and twelve RBI.

This is the seventh time Josh has been voted Wiffler of the Week during his wiffle career (2016 – twice, 2019 – twice, 2021, 2023), and the first time since the final week of the 2023 regular season.

Josh Swats Three Homers as Jack Shack Dominate Shady Characters 14-3

Josh led off the game with a home run for the fifth time this season and swatted two more, scoring four runs and driving in seven as Jack Shack rolled Shady Characters 14-3

Josh went 5-for-7 with a single, a double, three home runs, four runs scored, and seven RBI as Jack Shack took a 14-0 lead and held on to beat Shady Characters 14-3. Jon M and Jacob each had four hits and combined to score seven runs and Jon D pitched a complete game win, scattering three runs on seven hits.

Lucas started for Shady Characters, and the first batter he faced, Josh, hit a leadoff homer, putting Jack Shack up 1-0 immediately. Lucas then retired Jon M and Jon D to end the inning.

Jon D took the mound for Jack Shack, and he retired Tom and Nate in order in the bottom of the first.

Jacob singled to start the top of the second, and two batters later, he scored when Jon M hit an RBI single, putting Jack Shack in front 2-0. Lucas retired Jon D for the second out of the inning, and Shady Characters trailed by two runs.

Jon D once again rolled in the bottom of the second, sending Thomas and Lucas down consecutively.

Jacob doubled to lead off the top of the third, and Josh followed with a two-run homer, giving Jack Shack a 4-0 lead. Jon M doubled, and he moved to third when Jon D singled. Lucas got Jacob to ground out to left for the first out of the inning, but Jon M scored on the play, and Jack Shack led 5-0. Josh then doubled, scoring Jon D, and the Jack Shack lead was 6-0. Lucas retired Jon M to strand Josh at second, ending the inning, and Shady Characters were down six runs.

Nate hit a one-out double in the bottom of the third, but Jon D stranded him, retiring Thomas to end the inning.

Jon D led off the top of the fourth with a solo homer, making the Jack Shack lead 7-0. Lucas retired Jacob and Josh to end the inning, and Shady Characters trailed by seven runs.

Jon D continued to cruise in the bottom of the fourth, retiring Lucas and Tom in order, and he had allowed no runs on one hit through four innings.

Jack Shack blew the game open in the top of the fifth. Jon M led off with a double, and he scored from second when Jon D followed with a double, putting Jack Shack ahead 8-0. Jacob then doubled, scoring Jon D, and the score was 9-0. Josh hit an RBI single to score Jacob, and Shady Characters were behind 10-0. Jon M followed with a two-run homer, and Jack Shack had taken a 12-0 lead without recording an out in the fifth. Shady Characters made a call to the bullpen, bringing Tom to the mound. After retiring Jon D for the first out of the inning, Jacob doubled for the second time in the inning. Josh followed with a two-run bomb, and Jack Shack led 14-0. Tom finally retired Jon M to end the inning, and Shady Characters were in a big hole.

Shady Characters finally got on the scoreboard in the bottom of the fifth. After retiring Nate to start the inning, Jon D allowed a solo homer to Thomas, making the score 14-1. Lucas singled, and he scored from first when Tom followed with an RBI single, cutting the Jack Shack lead to 14-2. Nate then singled, putting runners on first and second with one out. Jon D avoided further damage, however, retiring Thomas to strand both runners, ending the inning, and Jack Shack led by twelve runs.

Tom retired Jack Shack in order in the top of the sixth, the first inning that Jack Shack hadn’t scored in the game.

Lucas led off the bottom of the sixth with a double, and Tom drove him in with an RBI double that made the score 14-3. The Shady Characters rally would end there, however, as Jon D retired Nate and Thomas to strand the runner at second, ending the inning and the game and giving Jack Shack a 14-3 victory.

The win moved Jack Shack to 5-7 on the season, and the loss dropped Shady Characters to 7-5.

Joey went 4-for-5 with two doubles, two home runs, three runs scored, and five RBI as Cheap Goats held off a late Guac Boys rally to win 10-7, snapping a three-game losing streak. Courtlen, Dinger, and Kevin had three hits each, and Christian pitched the complete game win. Tone went 4-for-5 in the loss, and Guac Boys dropped their first-place lead to only a half-game over Shady Characters.

Christian started for Cheap Goats, and after allowing a one-out double to Tone, he retired Bohn to strand the runner, ending the inning.

Bohn took the mound for Guac Boys, and he fell behind early. After allowing a leadoff double to Joey, Courtlen hit a two-run homer, making the score 2-0. Bohn struck out Christian and retired Dinger to end the inning, and Cheap Goats led by two runs.

Christian fanned Form and retired Brum in the top of the second, maintaining the two-run lead.

Kevin doubled to start the bottom of the second, and Joey followed with an RBI double, pushing the Cheap Goats lead to 3-0. Bohn retired Courtlen and Christian to strand Joey at second, ending the inning, and Guac Boys trailed by three runs.

Jan struck out Joey for the first out of the inning, but Courtlen followed with an RBI single that cleared the bases, scoring two runs to put Cheap Goats ahead 10-7. Jan retired Christian to strand Courtlen at first, ending the inning, and Guac Boys would need three runs in the sixth to extend the game.
