After five weeks of domination to start the first half of the season, in which five of Shady Characters’ six regular players won Wiffler of the Week to start the year, Adam became the first player not wearing a Shady Characters uniform to win Wiffler of the Week in 2022 after a big showing in week 6. He helped Jack Shack continue their climb out of the bottom of the standings, as his team earned a split in their week 6 games.
In a 5-3 win over Cheap Goats, Adam went 2-for-5 with a triple, a home run, two runs scored, and an RBI. His home run led off the game for Jack Shack, the seventh leadoff homer of Adam’s wiffle career.
In an 8-5 loss to the Guac Boys, Adam went 3-for-4 with a triple, two homers, three runs scored, and three RBI.
In total, Adam went 5-for-9 with five extra-base hits, including two triples, three homers (one of which was a leadoff home run), five runs scored, and four RBI.
Surprisingly, this is the first time Adam has been named Wiffler of the Week in his wiffle career.
Defending champions Shady Characters continued to bulldoze the EWL in week 4, outscoring their opponents 30-8 in two blowout victories. They were led by Jason, who went deep four times and continued to establish himself as the most feared power bat in the league.
In a 15-3 win over Jack Shack, he went 3-for-6 with a double, two homers, three runs scored, and four RBI.
In a 15-5 win defeat of Cheap Goats, he went 4-for-6 with a single, a double, two home runs, three runs scored, and two RBI.
In total, Jason went 7-for-12 with a single, two doubles, four home runs, six runs scored, and six RBI as Shady Characters remained undefeated at 8-0 on the season.
This is the third time Jason has been named Wiffler of the Week. He earned the honors for week 9 of the 2021 regular season and week 2 of the 2021 playoffs.
Brum powered Guac Boys back to .500 on the season with a win over Jack Shack, going 5-for-6 with a single, three doubles, a homer, two runs scored, and five RBI.
Brum went 5-for-6 with a single, three doubles, a home run, two runs scored, and five RBI as the Guac Boys pulled away late to beat Jack Shack 8-5. After trailing through three innings, the Guac Boys, led by Brum’s big stick, scored eight runs over the final three innings to earn the victory. Jude pitched the complete game win and had three hits, Anthony had four hits, and the Guac Boys continued to go blow-for-blow with Jack Shack in the season standings.
Brian started on the mound for Jack Shack, and he retired the Guac Boys in order in the top of the first.
Adam led off the bottom of the first with a triple, and he scored when Austin followed with a sacrifice fly, making the score 1-0. The Guac Boys starter, Jude, then retired Josh to end the inning.
Jude pitched the complete game win for the Guac Boys and also contributed three singles at the plate.
Brum singled to start the top of the second, but Brian stranded him, retiring Alec and Anthony to end the inning.
Brian led off the bottom of the second with a triple, and for the second consecutive inning, Jack Shack utilized a sac fly to score. Adam hit a fly to shallow center, and Brian tagged and scored on the play to put Jack Shack in front 2-0. Brum then retired Austin to end the inning.
Brum doubled with one out in the top of the third, but Brian once again stranded him, retiring Alec to end the inning, and the score remained 2-0.
Brum rolled through the bottom of the third, sending Josh and Brian down in order.
The Guac Boys pulled ahead in the top of the fourth. Anthony singled, and Jude followed with a single to put runners on first and second with no outs. Brum continued to swing a hot bat, crushing a three-run bomb that put the Guac Boys in front 3-2. Alec doubled, and Anthony drove him in with an RBI single that extended the lead to 4-2. Two batters later, Brum doubled, putting runners on second and third with no outs. Brian had allowed four runs in the inning, but stranded two runners, retiring Alec to end the inning.
Anthony had one of the best games of his wiffle career, going 4-for-7 with four singles, two runs scored, and three RBI in the Guac Boys win.
Austin tripled with one out in the bottom of the fourth, but Jack Shack couldn’t plate him. Brum retired Josh for the second out, and the score remained 4-2.
Austin went 2-for-4 with a double and a triple in the Jack Shack loss.
Jude singled with one out in the top of the fifth, but Brian stranded him, retiring Brum to end the inning.
After striking out Brian to start the bottom of the fifth, Brum allowed a solo homer to Adam, making the score 4-3. Austin followed with a double, putting the tying run in scoring position, but Brum stranded him, retiring Josh for the second out of the inning.
Adam led Jack Shack on offense, going 3-for-4 with a triple, two home runs, three runs scored, and three RBI.
The Guac Boys added to their lead in the top of the sixth. Alec led off with a triple, and Anthony drove him in with an RBI single, putting the Guac Boys in front 5-3. Jude singled, and Brum cleared the bases with an RBI double, pushing the lead to 7-3. Two batters later, Anthony hit an RBI single, scoring Brum, and the score was 8-3. Brian finally escaped the inning, retiring Jude to strand Anthony at first, and the Guac Boys led by five runs.

Brian led off the bottom of the sixth with a double, and for the second consecutive inning, Adam homered for Jack Shack. His solo shot cut the score to 8-4. Two batters later, Josh hit a one-out single, but the rally would end there. Brum retired Brian to strand the runner at first, ending the inning, and giving Guac Boys an 8-5 win.
The win moved the Guac Boys to 6-6, and the loss dropped Jack Shack to 4-8.
Tom earned his eleventh win of the season on the mound and went 3-for-4 with two singles, a homer, two runs scored, and two RBI in the Shady Characters win.
After losing their first game of the 2022 season, Shady Characters bounced back in a big way, thoroughly defeating Cheap Goats 10-1. Mike, Jason, and Tom each had three hits, and Nate went deep twice as Shady Characters jumped out to an early lead and never looked back.
Tom started for Shady Characters, and he rolled through the top of the first, retiring the side in order.
Dinger took the mound for Cheap Goats, and he got into trouble early. After retiring Dylan to start the bottom of the first, he gave up five consecutive hits. Mike singled, and Tom followed with a two-run bomb that made the score 2-0. Jason then singled, and he moved from first to third when Lucas followed with a single. Nate emptied the bases with a three-run homer, and Shady Characters led 5-0. Dinger retired Dylan to end the inning, and Cheap Goats found themselves in an early hole.
Nate went 2-for-3 with two homers, two runs scored, and four RBI in the Shady Characters win.
Tom once again rolled in the top of the second, retiring Joey and Christian in order.
Mike singled to start the bottom of the second, and he moved to second when Tom followed with a single. It looked as if it would be another big inning for Shady Characters, but Dinger escaped. He retired Jason and Lucas to strand both runners, and the score remained 5-0.
Dinger doubled to start the top of the third, Cheap Goats first hit of the game. Tom buckled down, however, retiring Miller and Joe to strand him at second, ending the inning.
Nate led off the bottom of the third with a solo homer, his second blast of the game, and Shady Characters were in front 6-0. Cheap Goats turned to the bullpen, bringing Miller into the game. He allowed a single to the first batter he faced, Dylan, before retiring Mike and Tom to strand the runner at first, ending the inning.
Lucas entered the game for Shady Characters in the top of the fourth, and he retired the first two batters he faced, Joey and Christian.
Jason tripled to start the bottom of the fourth, and he scored when Lucas grounded out to center for the first out of the inning. Miller retired Nate to end the inning, and Shady Characters led 7-0.
Jason went 3-for-4 with a single, a triple, a home run, three runs scored, and three RBI as Shady Characters bounced back from their first loss of the season with an easy win over Cheap Goats.
Miller singled with one out in the top of the fifth, but Lucas stranded him, retiring Joe and Joey to end the inning, maintaining the seven run lead.
Joey came to the mound in a rare relief appearance in the bottom of the fifth. He retired Dylan, the first batter he faced, and then got hit hard. Mike doubled, and Tom followed with a single, putting runners on first and third. Jason crushed a three-run bomb to deep right, putting Shady Characters ahead 10-0. Joey then retired Lucas to end the inning.
Joey singled to start the top of the sixth, and two batters later, Dinger hit an RBI single to score him from second, ending the shutout bid and cutting the score to 10-1. The rally would end there though, as Lucas retired Miller for the second out of the inning, ending the game and giving Shady Characters a 10-1 win.
The win moved Shady Characters to 11-1 on the season, and the loss dropped Cheap Goats to 3-9.
– Tom earned the win for Shady Characters, pitching three shutout innings while allowing only a single hit.
– Lucas pitched three innings of relief for Shady Characters, allowing one run on three hits.
– Dinger took the loss for Cheap Goats, giving up six runs on eight hits in two innings.
– Miller and Joey each pitched in relief for Cheap Goats. Miller allowed two runs on one hit in two innings, and Joey gave up three runs on three hits in one inning.
– Mike, Tom, and Jason each went 3-for-4 for Shady Characters. Mike had two singles, a double, and a run scored. Tom had two singles, a homer, two runs scored, and two RBI. And Jason had a single, a triple, a home run, three runs scored, and three RBI.
– Nate also went 2-for-3 with two homers, two runs scored, and four RBI in the win.
– Dinger was the only Cheap Goats player with multiple hits, going 2-for-3 with a single, a double, and an RBI.
Austin went 4-for-5 with two singles, a double, a home run, two runs scored, and two RBI to lead Jack Shack to a 5-3 win.
Adam tripled and homered, Josh had three doubles and pitched the complete game win, and Austin’s two-run homer was the deciding factor in Jack Shack’s 5-3 win over Cheap Goats. The three players had nine of Jack Shack’s ten hits, as Josh held Cheap Goats to only three runs, and Jack Shack started the first half of the 2022 regular season with a win.
Miller led off the game with a double, but he was caught out trying to extend the hit into a triple for the first out of the inning. Josh then retired Joe to end the inning.
Adam led off the bottom of the first with a homer, the seventh leadoff homer of his career, and Jack Shack led 1-0. Austin followed with a double, but Cheap Goats starter, Christian, retired Josh and Brian to strand Austin at second, ending the inning.

Christian provided his own run support in the top of the second, when he hit a solo homer with one out, tying the score at 1-1. Josh then retired Dinger to end the inning.
Jack Shack got the lead back quickly in the bottom of the second. Austin singled with one out, and he moved from first to third when Josh followed with a double. Brian then doubled, clearing the bases, and Jack Shack led 3-1. Christian retired Adam for the second out of the inning, stranding Brian at second.
Cheap Goats bounced back in the top of the third. Miller led off with a single, and two batters later, Joey hit a two-run bomb to left, tying the game at 3-3. Josh then retired Christian to end the inning.
Josh pitched the complete game win for Jack Shack and went 3-for-5 with three doubles and a run scored.
Josh doubled with one out in the bottom of the third, but Christian stranded him, retiring Brian to end the inning.
Miller singled with one out in the top of the fourth, but Cheap Goats couldn’t advance him, as Josh retired Joe for the second out of the inning.
Adam led off the bottom of the fourth with a triple, and Austin drove him in with a two-run bomb to right, giving Jack Shack a 5-3 lead. Josh followed with his third double of the game, but Christian stranded him, retiring Brian and Adam to end the inning.
Austin rounds third after his two-run shot in the fourth put Jack Shack ahead for good.
Cheap Goats threatened in the top of the fifth, but Josh escaped a jam. Christian doubled with one out, but when Dinger followed with a single, Christian was caught trying to score, ending the inning.
Austin singled to start the bottom of the fifth, but Christian struck out Josh and retired Brian, stranding him at first.
Down to their final at-bat, Cheap Goats went quietly and quickly in the sixth. Josh retired Miller and Joe in order, ending the inning and the game, giving Jack Shack a 5-3 win.
The win moved Jack Shack to 4-7 on the season, and the loss dropped Cheap Goats to 3-8.
