Alec of Guac Boys Named Pabst Blue Ribbon Wiffler of the Week

Alec continued his hot start to the 2023 season, hitting for the cycle in two consecutive games, both Guac Boys victories, and leading his team back to .500 for the season. After turning in a historically dominant performance, he was voted Wiffler of the Week for week 3.

In a 16-11 shootout win over Cheap Goats, he went 6-for-8 with two singles, a double, a triple, two home runs, six runs scored, and five RBI, completing the cycle with a triple in the fifth inning.

In a 9-4 win over Jack Shack, he went 5-for-7 with two singles, a double, a triple, a home run, three runs scored, two RBI, and completed the cycle with a double in his last at-bat.

In total, Alec went 11-for-15 with four singles, two doubles, two triples, three home runs, nine runs scored, and seven RBI in week 3.

This is the first time Alec has been voted Wiffler of the Week.

Alec Hits for Cycle and Leads Guac Boys Past Jack Shack 9-4

Alec went 5-for-7 with two singles, a double, a home run, three runs scored, and two RBI to lead the Guac Boys to their second consecutive win, bringing them to .500 for the season

Alec hit for the cycle for the second consecutive game, continuing his strong start to the 2023 season, and he led Guac Boys to a 9-4 win over Jack Shack. Jude and Brum also homered, and Guac Boys moved back to .500 on the season with their second consecutive win.

Josh took the mound for Jack Shack, and he got into trouble early. After allowing a leadoff single to Alec, Jude also singled, putting runners on the corners with no outs. Brum cleared the bases with a three-run shot, putting Guac Boys ahead 3-0. Two batters later, Alec hit a one-out single, but Josh avoided further damage, retiring Jude to strand Alec at first, ending the inning.

Alec started on the mound for Guac Boys, and after allowing a one-out single to Jared in the bottom of the first, he retired Ryan to strand the runner, and the score remained 3-0.

The Guac Boys added to their lead in the top of the second. Form singled with one out, and Alec drove him in with a two-run homer, making the score 5-0. Jude followed with a single, but Josh retired Brum to strand the runner and end the inning.

Brian doubled to lead off the bottom of the second, but Jack Shack couldn’t plate him. Alec retired Josh and Jared to strand Brian at second, and Jack Shack continued to trail by five runs.

The Guac Boys continued to extend their lead in the top of the third. Form led off with a double, and two batters later, Jude hit a two-run homer to right, pushing the Guac Boys lead to 7-0. Brum and Form each followed with singles, and it looked like Guac Boys would blow the game open, but Josh avoided catastrophe, retiring Alec to strand two runners, ending the inning.

Alec had reached his innings limit for the week, and the Guac Boys brought Brum to the mound from the bullpen in the bottom of the third. He retired Ryan and Brian in order, and the score remained 7-0.

Josh retired Jude and Brum consecutively in the top of the fourth, and Jack Shack would finally get on the board in the bottom half of the inning.

Brum struck out Josh to start the bottom of the fourth, but Jared followed with a triple, and Ryan drove him in with an RBI double that made the score 7-1. Brum retired Brian to strand Ryan at second, and the Guac Boys led by six through four innings.

The Guac Boys added a few more insurance runs in the top of the fifth. Alec hit a one-out triple, and Jude drove him in with an RBI single that made the score 8-1. Brum then doubled, scoring Jude from first, and the Guac Boys led 9-1. Josh retired Form for the second out of the inning, stranding Brum at second, and Jack Shack trailed by eight runs.

Josh led off the bottom of the fifth with a solo homer, narrowing the score to 9-2. Two batters later, Ryan hit a one-out double, but Brum stranded him, retiring Brian for the second out of the inning.

Alec led off the top of the sixth with a double, completing the cycle for the second consecutive game. Guac Boys couldn’t extend their lead, however, as Josh retired Jude and Brum to strand the runner, and Jack Shack trailed 9-2 heading into the bottom of the sixth.

Brum remained on the mound to close things out, and the first batter he faced, Josh, hit a solo homer, cutting the score to 9-3. Two batters later, Ryan hit a solo shot, and Jack Shack had narrowed the Guac Boys lead to 9-4. Brian singled, and it looked as if Jack Shack may rally, but Brum retired Josh for the second out of the inning, stranding the runner, ending the inning, and giving the Guac Boys a 9-4 win.

The win moved the Guac Boys to 3-3 on the season, and the loss dropped Jack Shack to 2-4.

Christian Homers Twice in Bottom of the Sixth Including Walk-Off Two-Run Homer to Cap Cheap Goats’ Miraculous 11-9 Win Over Shady Characters

Christian homered to start and end the Cheap Goats’ rally in the bottom of the sixth, leading off the inning with a solo homer before later ending the game with an incredible walk-off two-run blast

Just a week after coming from behind in the bottom of the sixth to beat Shady Characters in dramatic fashion, Cheap Goats doubled down, doing it once again in even more outrageous fashion in week 3. Down 9-7 in the bottom of the sixth, Christian and Dinger each homered to tie the game, and after Shady Characters intentionally walked Miller, Christian homered again, this time for a walk-off win. The two-run shot gave Cheap Goats an improbable 11-9 victory, their second consecutive walk-off victory against defending champs Shady Characters.

Christian took the mound for Cheap Goats, and he got behind early. Nate led off with a double, and two batters later, Tom hit a two-run homer to center, making the score 2-0. Christian then retired Jason to end the inning.

Tom started for Shady Characters, and the first batter he faced, Joey, led off the bottom of the first with a solo homer, his seventh career leadoff home run. Tom retired the next two batters to end the inning, and Shady Characters led 2-1 through the first.

Shady Characters opened up a bigger lead in the top of the second. Lucas led off with a double, and two batters later, Mike hit an RBI double to score him, extending the lead to 3-1. Tom followed with his second two-run homer in as many at-bats, and Shady Characters led 5-1. Jason followed with a solo homer, and the back-to-back jacks gave Shady Characters a 6-1 lead. Lucas doubled, but Christian escaped the inning by striking out Nate for the second out.

Joey hit a fly ball to deep left center, allowing Christian to tag and score, cutting the deficit to 8-7. Lucas then retired Miller to strand a runner, ending the inning.

Shady Characters added an insurance run when Mike led off the top of the sixth with a solo homer, making the score 9-7. Christian then retired Tom and Jason in order to end the inning, and Cheap Goats trailed by two heading into their final at-bat.

Lucas remained on the mound to close things out, and he got into trouble quickly. Christian led off the inning with a solo homer, narrowing the score to 9-8. Dinger followed with a solo shot, tying the game at 9-9. Joey had a chance to make back-to-back-to-back homers and walk off with a win, but Lucas got him to ground out to left for the first out of the inning. With one out and no one on base, Shady Characters intentionally walked Miller to face Christian. Christian had homered in his last at-bat, and he busted out his power bat once again. He crushed a two-run bomb to right field, ending the game and giving Cheap Goats an incredible 11-9 comeback win over Shady Characters.

The win moved Cheap Goats to 3-3 on the season, and the loss dropped Shady Characters to 4-2.

Guac Boys Pull Away Late to Beat Cheap Goats 16-11 in Offensive Shootout

Guac Boys celebrate one of Alec’s two homers in the game. He went 6-for-8 and hit for the cycle for the first time in his wiffle career, leading Guac Boys to a 16-11 shootout victory over Cheap Goats.

Alec hit for the cycle for the first time in his wiffle career and Brum went 6-for-7 as the Guac Boys scored five unanswered runs over the last two innings and beat Cheap Goats 16-11. In total, the Guac Boys tallied eighteen hits, including eleven extra-base hits, and Alec pitched the complete game win. The two teams combined for fifteen first-inning runs and twenty runs across the first two innings before the offensive explosion settled down, allowing the Guac Boys to take a late lead and hold on for the victory.

Dinger started for Cheap Goats, and he was crushed early. Alec led off with a single, and he scored from first when Jude followed with an RBI single, putting the Guac Boys up 1-0. Brum then singled, putting runners on first and second with no outs. Form cleared the bases with an RBI triple, and the Guac Boys led 3-0. Alec then singled, scoring Form, and the score was 4-0. Two batters later, Brum hit an RBI single to score Alec, and the lead was 5-0. Form tripled for the second time in the inning, scoring Brum, and the Guac Boys were ahead 6-0. Alec registered his third hit of the first inning when he hit a towering two-run shot to left, making the score 8 -0. Dinger finally the disastrous inning by getting Jude to fly out to center for the second out of the inning.

With one out and two runners on, Joey cleared the bases with a three-run homer, cutting the deficit to 8-4. Miller followed with a triple, and Christian drove him in with an RBI double that made the score 8-5. Dinger then doubled, scoring Christian, and Cheap Goats trailed 8-6. Joey picked up his third extra-base hit of the first inning, and his RBI double scored Dinger to narrow the lead to 8-7. Cheap Goats had nearly tied the game, but Alec got out of the inning by getting Miller to fly out to the mound for the second out.

Alec retired Christian for the second out of the inning, and Cheap Goats had cut the score to 11-9 through two innings.

After allowing eleven runs over the first two innings, Dinger settled in, and he retired Form and Alec consecutively in the top of the third.

Shady Characters Overpower Jack Shack in 11-1 Win

Jason was 5-for-5 with three singles, two homers, and four RBI as Shady Characters moved to 4-1 on the season with their win over Jack Shack

Jason was perfect at the plate, going 5-for-5 with two homers, Mike went 4-for-5, and Tom allowed only one run on five hits as Shady Characters cruised to an 11-1 week 3 victory over Jack Shack. Nate also went 4-for-5 at the plate, continuing his hot start to the 2023 season, as Shady Characters took an early lead and never looked back, maintaining their spot atop the EWL standings.

Brian started on the mound for Jack Shack, and after allowing a leadoff triple to Nate, he gave up an RBI single to Mike, making the score 1-0. Two batters later, Jason hit an RBI single, scoring Mike, and Shady Characters led 2-0. Brian then retired Lucas to end the inning.

Tom took the mound for Shady Characters, and the first batter he faced, Josh, tried to turn a triple into an inside-the-park homer, but was caught out at the plate for the first out of the inning. Tom then retired Jared for the second out of the inning.
