Jason was 5-for-5 with three singles, two homers, and four RBI as Shady Characters moved to 4-1 on the season with their win over Jack Shack
Jason was perfect at the plate, going 5-for-5 with two homers, Mike went 4-for-5, and Tom allowed only one run on five hits as Shady Characters cruised to an 11-1 week 3 victory over Jack Shack. Nate also went 4-for-5 at the plate, continuing his hot start to the 2023 season, as Shady Characters took an early lead and never looked back, maintaining their spot atop the EWL standings.
Brian started on the mound for Jack Shack, and after allowing a leadoff triple to Nate, he gave up an RBI single to Mike, making the score 1-0. Two batters later, Jason hit an RBI single, scoring Mike, and Shady Characters led 2-0. Brian then retired Lucas to end the inning.
Tom took the mound for Shady Characters, and the first batter he faced, Josh, tried to turn a triple into an inside-the-park homer, but was caught out at the plate for the first out of the inning. Tom then retired Jared for the second out of the inning.
Nate tripled for the second consecutive at-bat to lead off the top of the second, and he scored when Mike followed with a sacrifice fly to center. Brian retired Tom for the second out of the inning, and Shady Characters led 3-0.

Tom rolled through the bottom of the second, retiring Ryan and Brian in order.
Jason led off the top of the third with a single, but Brian stranded him, retiring Lucas and Nate, and the score remained 3-0.
Jared singled with one out in the bottom of the third, but Jack Shack couldn’t advance him, as Tom retired Ryan for the second out of the inning.
Shady Characters extended their lead in the top of the fourth. Mike led off the inning with a solo homer, putting Shady Characters in front 4-0. Two batters later, Jason homered, and the score was 5-0. Lucas doubled and moved to third when Nate followed with a single. Mike then singled, scoring Lucas, and Shady Characters led 6-0. Shady Characters had two runners on, but Brian avoided a catastrophic inning, retiring Tom for the second out of the inning, stranding the runners.

Josh tripled with one out in the bottom of the fourth, but Tom once again stranded a Jack Shack runner. He retired Jared for the second out, and Shady Characters continued to lead by six runs.
Shady Characters blew the game open in the top of the fifth. Jason led off the inning with his second solo homer of the game, making the score 7-0. Lucas doubled, and Nate drove him in with a two-run shot to right-center, extending the lead to 9-0. Mike singled, and he moved from first to third when Tom followed with a single. Jason followed with an RBI single, scoring Mike, and Shady Characters led 10-0. Lucas followed with a sac fly, scoring Tom, but Jason was caught trying to tag up on the play, ending the inning.
Down 11-0, Jack Shack got on the board in the bottom of the fifth. Brian hit a one-out triple, and Josh drove him in with an RBI single, cutting the score to 11-1. Tom retired the next batter, Jared, stranding Josh at first and ending the inning.
Josh was the only Jack Shack player with multiple hits, going 3-for-4 with a single and two triples in the loss
Jack Shack turned to their bullpen in the top of the sixth, bringing Jared to the mound. He retired Nate and Mike in order, and Jack Shack trailed 11-1 heading into the bottom of the sixth.
Tom remained on the mound to close things out for Shady Characters, and he made quick work in the bottom of the sixth. He retired Ryan and Brian to end the game, giving Shady Characters an 11-1 win.
The win moved Shady Characters to 4-1 on the season, and the loss dropped Jack Shack to 2-3.
