Joey Named Week 1 PBR Wiffler of the Week

The votes are in, and Joey of Fish Sticks was named the Pabst Blue Ribbon Wiffler of the Week for Week 1.

Joey hit .818 for the week with 9 hits, 3 home runs, and 6 RBI. He registered 5 put-outs, and earned a win on the mound.

Week 2 Stats Entered

The week 2 stats have been entered. Recaps will come soon.

Some of the League Leader categories require minimums. I used restrictions similar to the MLB standards in order to calculate the minimums.

To calculate minimum innings pitched for ERA and similar categories, MLB requires one inning pitched per team games completed at that point in the season. So over the course of an entire season in MLB, a pitcher has to pitch at least 162 innings to qualify as a league leader in ERA, WHIP, etc.

For the EWL, I used a similar standard, 1 inning pitched per team game completed. So 4 IP are required to qualify as a pitching league leader.

To calculate minimum at-bats for batting average and similar categories, MLB requires 3.1 AB per team games completed at that point in the season. So over the course of an entire season in MLB, a batter has to have 502.2 AB to qualify as a league leader in BA, SLG%, etc.

For the EWL, I used the same standard. Although we only play 6 innings, we have half the size of the lineup. A player who plays on a regular basis should easily average 3.1 at-bats per team game scheduled. So the minimum at-bats to qualify as a league leader as of now is 12.4 at-bats, which I rounded down to 12.

Week 2 Games Rescheduled

Due to rain all day, wet courts, and a 100% chance of muthafuckin rain for 5PM through 8PM, the week 2 games are being postponed for Tuesday night and rescheduled for Thursday, May 5th at 6:30. The weather report looks nice, so get ready to wiffle.
