Bohn’s Walk-off Double Caps Guac Boys Thrilling 10-9 Win Over Cheap Goats in Season Opener

In a rematch of the 2025 EWL Wiffle Series, won by Guac Boys in a dramatic seven-game series, defending champs Guac Boys once against bested Cheap Goats, winning one of the most exciting EWL season-opening games in league history. Trailing 9-7 in the bottom of the sixth, Guac Boys strung together four consecutive hits, and Bohn’s game-winning RBI double to score Kyle sealed a 10-9 victory.

Defending EWL Pitch King and 2025 Wiffle Series MVP Bohn started on the mound for Guac Boys. He allowed a lead off single to Joey, and Kevin followed with a single. He got Courtlen to ground out for the first out of the inning, and Joey scored on the play to put Cheap Goats up 1-0. Bohn then retired Christian to end the inning.

Christian took the mound for Cheap Goats, and he got into trouble early. After retiring Bohn to lead off the inning, he allowed consecutive singles to Jan and Tone, and Kyle followed with an RBI single, tying the score at 1-1. Bohn then cleared the bases with a three-run homer, and Guac Boys led 4-1. Jan followed with a one-out triple, but Christian retired Tone to strand the runner, ending the inning.

Dinger led off the top of the second with a single, and two batters later, Joey drove him in with an RBI triple, cutting the score to 4-2. Bohn retired Kevin for the second out of the inning, stranding Joey at third.

Kyle started the bottom of the second with a triple, and Bohn drove him in with an RBI double, putting Guac Boys up 5-2. Christian struck out Jan, and then retired Tone to strand Bohn at second, ending the inning.

Courtlen led off the top of the third with a double, and two batters later, Dinger hit an RBI single to score him, and Cheap Goats trailed 5-3. Bohn retired Conor to end the inning.

Kyle singled to lead off the bottom of the third, but Christian stranded him, retiring Bohn and Jan.

Cheap Goats reclaimed the lead in the top of the fourth. Joey led off with a double, and Kevin drove him in with a two-run homer, tying the score at 5-5. Courtlen doubled, and Christian hit Cheap Goats’ second two-run homer of the inning, making the score 7-5. Bohn retired Dinger and Conor to end the inning.

Guac Boys clawed back to tie the score in the bottom of the fourth. Tone singled, and Kyle drove him in with an RBI triple, cutting the score to 7-6. Bohn then singled, scoring Kyle, and the game was tied 7-7. Christian retired Jan and Tone to strand Bohn, ending the inning.

Joey led off the top of the fifth with a double, and for the second consecutive inning, Kevin followed Joey’s leadoff double with a two-run homer, putting Cheap Goats ahead 9-7. Bohn then retired Courtlen and Christian to end the inning.

Cheap Goats turned to their bullpen in the bottom of the fifth, bringing Conor to the mound. He retired Kyle and Bohn in order, and Cheap Goats led 9-7 heading into the sixth.

Bohn allowed a one-out triple to Conor in the top of the sixth, but stranded him, retiring Joey to end the inning.

Down 9-7, Guac Boys rallied in the bottom of the sixth. Jan led off with a double, and Tone followed with a two-run shot, tying the game at 9-9. Kyle then doubled, putting the winning run in scoring position. Bohn ended the game with a walk-off RBI double, scoring Kyle, and Guac Boys had taken the season opener 10-9 in dramatic fashion.

The win moved Guac Boys to 1-0 on the season, and the loss dropped Cheap Goats to 0-1.
