Josh went 4-for-5 and scored the game-winning run in the top of the sixth, and Jacob went 3-for-5, driving in the game-winning run with an RBI single, as Jack Shack defeated Shady Characters 5-4 to earn their first win of the 2026 season.
Tom K started on the mound for Shady Characters, and Jack Shack wasted little time getting on the board. Josh led off the game with a solo home run, making the score 1-0. Jon M followed with a single, and two batters later, Jacob connected for a two-run homer, extending the Jack Shack lead to 3-0. Dave and Josh both later singled with one-out, but Tom K retired Jon M to end the inning, stranding two runners.
Jon D took the mound for Jack Shack in his 2026 season debut. Zach answered immediately for Shady Characters, hitting a leadoff solo homer, his second of the 2026 season, cutting the deficit to 3-1. Thomas flew out before Billy connected for a solo homer, making the score 3-2. Tom K followed with a double, but Jon D stranded him, retiring Lucas to end the inning.
Jacob grounded out to begin the top of the second before Jon D doubled. Dave later grounded out, and Tom K escaped the inning without allowing a run.
Nate struck out to begin the bottom of the second before Zach singled. Jon D avoided trouble, retiring Thomas to end the inning.
Josh singled to begin the top of the third, and two batters later, Jacob followed with an RBI double to score Josh, extending the Jack Shack lead to 4-2. Jon D then grounded out to end the inning, stranding Jacob at second.
Billy grounded out to begin the bottom of the third before Tom K connected for a solo homer, cutting the deficit to 4-3. Lucas followed with a solo homer, and the back-to-back homers tied the game at 4-4. Nate then struck out to end the inning.
Dave singled to begin the top of the fourth before Josh grounded out and Jon M flew out. Shady Characters escaped the inning without allowing a run, and the game remained tied at 4-4.
Zach grounded out to begin the bottom of the fourth before Thomas tripled. Jon D stranded the tying run at third, retiring Billy to end the inning.
Jacob flew out to begin the top of the fifth before Jon D tripled. Dave then flew out, and both teams had stranded runners at third to preserve the 4-4 tie.
Tom K and Lucas both flew out in a quick bottom of the fifth as Jon D worked another scoreless inning.

Jon D remained on the mound to close things out for Jack Shack, and Shady Characters could not rally in the bottom of the sixth. Nate struck out and Zach grounded out to end the game as Jack Shack secured the 5-4 victory, their first of the season.
The win moved Jack Shack to 1-2 on the season, and Shady Characters dropped to 1-2.
