Joey’s fourth inning Grand Slam capped a five-run rally that lifted Cheap Goats to a 9-6 victory over Jack Shack, securing the #2 seed in the 2026 EWL playoffs. Dinger retired the final six batters he faced across the last three innings to close out the win as Cheap Goats climbed out of the regular season cellar for the first time since 2023.

Jon D got the start for Jack Shack. Kevin singled with one out before Courtlen drove him home with an RBI double to make the score 1-0. Christian followed by launching a two-run homer, giving Cheap Goats an early 3-0 advantage. Jon D retired Dinger to end the inning.
Dinger took the mound for Cheap Goats, and Jack Shack answered immediately. Josh opened the bottom of the first with a leadoff homer to cut the deficit to 3-1. Jon M followed with a single, and after Jacob grounded out, Jon D ripped an RBI triple, trimming the lead to 3-2. Dinger struck out Dave to end the inning, preserving a one-run lead.

Joey led off the second with a solo homer, extending the Cheap Goats advantage to 4-2. Kevin followed with a single but as he was rounding for second, the ball fly ball him him in the head for the first out of the inning. Jon D retired Courtlen to end the inning, keeping the deficit at two runs.
Jack Shack responded in the bottom of the second. Josh singled, and Jon M followed with a double. Jacob then crushed a three-run homer, putting Jack Shack in front 5-4. Dinger retired Jon D and Dave to end the inning, and Jack Shack had taken a one-run lead.
Dinger singled with one out in the top of the third, but Jon D stranded him, retiring Joey to end the inning.

Josh and Jon M were retired in order in the bottom of the third.
Down a run, Cheap Goats seized control in the top of the fourth. Kevin led off with a solo homer to tie the game at 5-5. Courtlen and Christian followed with back-to-back singles, and Dinger also singled to load the bases. Joey then delivered the biggest swing of the game, crushing a grand slam to turn a tie game into a 9-5 Cheap Goats lead. Jon D retired Kevin and Courtlen to end the inning, and Cheap Goats had scored five runs to pull ahead.
Jack Shack threatened in the bottom of the fourth. Jacob doubled with one out before Jon D drove him home with an RBI double, cutting the deficit to 9-6. Dinger retired Dave and Josh to strand Jon D at second, and Jack Shack trailed by three runs.

Christian singled with one out in the fifth, but Jon D retired Dinger and Joey to keep Jack Shack within striking distance.
Dinger put together another quick inning in the bottom of the fifth, retiring Jon M and Jacob to maintain the three-run advantage.
Kevin tripled to lead off the top of the sixth, and when Courtlen flew out, he attempted to tag and score, but was called out, ending the inning.
Needing three runs in the bottom of the sixth, Jack Shack couldn’t mount a rally. Dinger retired Jon D and Dave to end the game, securing a 9-6 Cheap Goats victory.
The win moved Cheap Goats to 10-9 on the season while Jack Shack fell to 8-11.

Dinger earned the complete game victory for Cheap Goats, allowing six runs on eight hits and striking out one.
Jon D took the loss for Jack Shack, allowing nine runs on thirteen hits in a complete game effort.
Kevin went 4-for-5 with two singles a triple, a home run, two runs scored, and an RBI to lead Cheap Goats.
Joey went 2-for-5 with a solo home run and a grand slam. The grand slam was the thirteenth in league history, the second this season, and the fourth of Joey’s wiffle career. He is the only player who has hit multiple grand slams.
Christian also had a big game, going 3-for-4 with two singles a home run, two runs scored, and two RBI.
Jacob led Jack Shack in the loss, going 2-for-4 with a double, a homer, two runs scored, and three RBI.
Josh hit a leadoff home run in the bottom of the first inning. It was his 2nd leadoff homer of the season and the 17th of his wiffle career.
