Cookies & Cream’s Offense Surges to 10-5 Win Over Questionable Outfit in Final Regular Season Game of 2017

Jordan had four hits, including a double, two triples, and a two-run homer, and also pitched a complete game win as Cookies & Cream topped Questionable Outfit 10-5

All four members of Cookies & Cream had three of more hits, and Jordan, Erich, and Joey each homered as Cookies & Cream beat Questionable Outfit 10-5, ending the 2017 regular season on a four game winning streak. Jordan pitched the complete game win for Cookies & Cream, keeping the powerful Questionable Outfit offense in check, allowing only one big inning, which his offense more than made up for with run support. For the second consecutive season, Questionable Outfit will enter the playoffs as the #1 seed with Cookies & Cream as the #2 seed behind them.

Tom started on the mound for Questionable Outfit, and he got off to a strong start, retiring Jordan and Erich in order in the top of the first. Jordan, Cookies & Cream’s starter, matched him in the bottom of the first, sending Bob and Tom down consecutively.

Cookies & Cream would get on the board in the top of the second, taking an early lead, when Joey led off the inning with a solo homer to left. Two batters later, Jordan hit a one-out triple, and Erich drove him in with a triple, making the score 2-0. Tom then retired Joey to end the inning, and Cookies led by two runs.

Jordan continued to roll in the bottom of the second, retiring Mike and Miller in order.

Cookies added to their lead in the top of the third. Guthrie doubled to start the inning, and two batters later, Erich hit a two-run blast to right field, putting Cookies & Cream ahead 4-0. Tom then retired Joey to end the inning.

Jordan maintained control in the bottom of the third, retiring Bob and Tom, and he had completed half of the game without allowing a base runner.

Cookies & Cream took a commanding lead in the top of the fourth, scoring six runs in the inning. Guthrie singled, and he scored on Jordan’s RBI triple that made the score 5-0. Erich then grounded out to left for the first out of the inning, but Jordan scored on the play, extending the Cookies lead to 6-0. Joey followed with his second homer of the game, a solo shot that pushed the score to 7-0. Guthrie tripled, and Jordan drove him in with a two-run homer to left, making the score 9-0. Erich then tripled, and Joey drove him in with an RBI single, putting Cookies & Cream ahead 10-0. Tom finally escaped the inning by retiring Guthrie, and Questionable found themselves in a rare ten-run deficit.

Questionable Outfit finally got a base runner in the bottom of the fourth when Miller singled, but they couldn’t plate a run. Jordan retired Bob to strand the runner, and Cookies & Cream led 10-0 through four innings.

Joey had two home runs in the game for Cookies & Cream

Jordan doubled with one out in the top of the fifth, but Tom avoided further damage, retiring Erich to strand the runner and end the inning.

Questionable Outfit finally got out their bats in the bottom of the fifth, putting a dent in the Cookies & Cream lead. Mike hit a one-out double, and Miller followed with a two-run homer, breaking Jordan’s shutout bid and making the score 10-2. Bob followed with a triple, and Tom drove him in with a two-run blast, cutting the lead further to 10-4. Mike then tripled, and it looked as if Cookies were crumbling. However, Jordan buckled down, retiring Miller to strand Mike at third and end the inning while maintaining a six-run lead.

Tom retired the side in order in the top of the sixth, and Questionable Outfit would need a six run inning to extend the game.

Bob singled to start the bottom of the sixth, and he moved from first to third on Tom’s single, putting runners on the corners with no outs. Two batters later, Miller hit a single, scoring Bob from third to make the score 10-5. Questionable once again had runners at the corners, but the rally would end there, as Jordan got Bob to fly out to left, ending the game as Cookies & Cream held on to win 10-5.

The win moved Cookies & Cream to 12-8 on the season. With the loss, Questionable Outfit finished 16-4, tying their league single-season record for best regular season record.

Mike Hits and Pitches Questionable Outfit to 7-1 Win Over Ham Slams

Mike continued to roll as the EWL’s hottest player, going 5-for-6 at the plate and pitching a complete game in Questionable Outfit’s 7-1 win over the Ham Slams

Mike continued his torrid late second half pace, going 5-for-6, and also pitched the complete game win, allowing only one run on seven hits in a 7-1 Questionable Outfit win over the Ham Slams. Mike has now reached base safely in fifteen of his last sixteen at-bats, one of the hottest streaks in the history of the EWL, and he is now threatening for the batting title. Josh had three hits in the loss, which clinched the #3 seed in the 2017 playoffs for the Ham Slams.

Josh took the mound for the Ham Slams, and he fell behind early. Bob led off the game with a triple, and Tom followed with an RBI triple to make the score 1-0. Mike then doubled, scoring Tom, and Questionable led 2-0. Josh retired the next two Questionable hitters, and the Ham Slams trailed by two runs.

Mike allowed a one-out double to Josh in the bottom of the first, but the Ham Slams couldn’t capitalize, as Mike got out of the jam without allowing a run, and the score remained 2-0.

Questionable Outfit extended their lead in the top of the second. Tom led off with a triple, his second in as many at-bats, and he scored when Mike hit an RBI double that made the score 3-0. Miller then doubled, scoring Mike, and Questionable led 4-0. Two batters later, Tom hit a one-out two-run blast to left, putting Questionable Outfit ahead 6-0. Mike followed with a double, his third of the game, but the run would end there, as Josh retired Miller for the second out, ending the inning.

Steve hit a one-out double in the bottom of the second, but once again, Mike stranded the runner, retiring Josh to end the inning with the score 6-0.

Tom went 3-for-5 with two triples, a homer, three runs scored, and 3 RBI

Josh retired the side in order in the top of the third, and the Ham Slams got on the board in the bottom half of the inning.

Jergens Von Strangler hit a one-out double, and Steve drove him in with an RBI single that cut the score to 6-1. Josh followed with a single, putting runners on first and second with no outs, but once again, Mike escaped stranding two more runners and ending the inning.

Questionable made up the run in the top of the fourth when Miller hit a one-out triple, and Bob drove him in with an RBI double that made the score 7-1. Josh then retired Tom to end the inning.

Mike retired the side in order in the bottom of the fourth, and the Slams trailed by six.

Mike led off the top of the fifth with a double, his fourth of the game, but Josh avoided further damage, retiring Miller and Bob to strand the runner and end the inning.

Josh started the bottom of the fifth with a double, but yet again, Mike escaped the inning and stranded yet another Ham Slams runner, as the score remained 7-1.

Mike singled with one out in the top of the sixth, his fifth hit of the game, but Questionable couldn’t plate him, as Josh retired Miller to end the inning.

Down six runs, the Ham Slams couldn’t rally in the bottom of the sixth. Mike retired the side in order, giving Questionable Outfit the 7-1 win.

The win moved Questionable to 16-3 on the season, one win away from breaking the team regular season record for wins. The loss dropped the Ham Slams to 9-10 on the season.

Erich and Joey Power Cookies & Cream Past Eastbound & Dahn 11-1

Joey and Erich combined to go 11-for-12 as Joey went 6-for-6 with four doubles and Erick went 5-for-6 with three home runs in the 11-1 Cookies & Cream win over Eastbound & Dahn. Guthrie pitched the complete game win for Cookies & Cream, allowing only a single run, and Cookies & Cream clinched the #2 seed in the 2017 EWL playoffs.

Guthrie retired the Eastbound side in order in the top of the first, and Cookies would get on the board early in the bottom of the inning. Erich hit a one-out triple, and he scored when Joey followed with an RBI double that made the score 1-0. Christian, Eastbound & Dahn’s starter, then retired Guthrie to end the inning.

Eastbound evened things up in the top of the second. Adam singled with one out, and BK followed with an RBI double, scoring Adam from first to tie the game at 1-1. Guthrie then retired Nate O, ending the inning.

Cookies bounced right back in the bottom of the second, taking the lead back. Christian retired Jordan for the first out of the inning, but Erich followed with a solo homer, putting Cookies ahead 2-1. Joey then doubled, and scored when Guthrie followed with an RBI double to make the score 3-1. Christian retired Jordan to end the inning, and Cookies led by two.

It looked as if Eastbound would threaten in the top of the third, but they couldn’t capitalize on their base runners. Nate C singled with one out, and he moved to third on an Adam double, putting the tying runs in scoring position. Guthrie buckled down, however, retiring BK to strand both runners, and the score remained 3-1.

Cookies would open up a big lead in the bottom of the third. Joey doubled with one out, and he scored from second on Guthrie’s RBI single, making the score 4-1. Jordan then tripled, scoring Guthrie and putting Cookies ahead 5-1. Erich followed with a two-run blast, his second homer of the game, and Cookies & Cream led 7-1. Joey followed with his fourth double in as many at-bats, but the big inning would end there, as Christian retired Guthrie for the second out, stranding the runner.

Down six runs, Eastbound went down in order in the top of the fourth, and Cookies would extend the lead even further in the bottom half of the inning. Jordan singled, and Erich followed with his second consecutive two-run homer, putting the Cookies & Cream lead at 9-1. Joey then made it back-to-back homers, and his solo shot made the score 10-1. Guthrie followed with a double, and two batters later, Erich hit an RBI single with one out to push the lead to 11-1. Erich was caught trying to extend the hit into a double, ending the inning.

Adam singled with one out in the top of the fifth, but Eastbound couldn’t advance him, as Guthrie retired BK to strand the runner and end the inning.

Joey singled to start the bottom of the fifth, but the Cookies lead would remain at ten runs, as Christian retired Guthrie and Jordan to end the inning.

Down ten, Eastbound went quietly in the top of the sixth. Guthrie retired Nate O and Christian to end the inning and the game, and Cookies & Cream defeated Eastbound 11-1 in their final matchup of the 2017 season.

The win moved Cookies & Cream to 11-8 for the season, and the loss dropped Eastbound & Dahn to 2-17.

Questionable Outfit Destroy Eastbound & Dahn 25-1 in Historic Beatdown

Bob went 9-for-10 in the lopsided Questionable Outfit victory, and was one of three Questionable Outfit players to hit for the cycle

In one of the most lopsided games in the history of the EWL, Questionable Outfit relentlessly pounded Eastbound & Dahn, crushing the ball at-bat after at-bat and capitalizing on countless fielding errors in a 25-1 victory that was out of hand immediately. Mike went a perfect 10-for-10, perhaps the greatest single game performance in league history, his teammate, Bob, went 9-for-10, and Mike, Bob, and Tom became the first three teammates in EWL history to hit for the cycle in one game. Tom pitched a complete game, allowing one run on four hits, as Eastbound & Dahn hit their low point as an EWL franchise and Questionable Outfit sealed their position as the team to beat in 2017.

Christian started on the mound for Eastbound & Dahn, and he would end the game in the record books. He gave up a single to Bob, the game’s first batter, and two hitters later, Mike hit an RBI triple, his first of ten hits, to make the score 1-0. Christian then retired Miller to end the inning.

Eastbound & Dahn showed a glimpse of life in the bottom of the first when Nate O led off with a solo homer to left-center, tying the game at 1-1. Tom retired the next two batters, ending the inning, and the game would go downhill from there.

Questionable Outfit would score nine runs in the top of the second, and would lead 10-1 by the end of the inning. Bob doubled to lead off the inning, and he scored on Tom’s RBI single to make the score 2-1. Mike singled to put runners on the corners, and two batters later, Bob singled to score Tom, and the score was 3-1. Tom then singled to score Mike, making the score 4-1, and Mike cleared the bases with an RBI double that put Questionable ahead 6-1. Miller then doubled to score Mike, pushing the score to 7-1, and Bob followed with a two-run homer, his third hit of the inning, to extend the lead to 9-1. Tom then tripled for his third hit of the inning, and he scored when Mike doubled for his third hit of the inning, making the score 10-1. Christian finally escaped the inning when Miller grounded out to center for the second out.

Adam singled with one out in the bottom of the second, but Eastbound couldn’t advance him, as Tom retired BK to strand the runner and end the inning.

Questionable Outfit would continue to pour it on in the top of the third, scoring six more runs to extend their lead to 16-1. Bob led off the inning with a solo homer, making the score 11-1. Tom followed with a double, and he moved to third when Mike singled, putting runners on the corners. After Miller flew out to the mound, Bob hit an RBI triple, scoring both runners to make the score 13-1. Tom then doubled, scoring Bob from third, and the score was 14-1. Mike homered to complete the cycle for the second game in a row, and Questionable led 16-1. Miller then grounded out to left for the second out of the inning.

Tom fanned Nate O for the first out in the bottom of the third, and after Christian doubled, Tom stranded him, retiring Helal to end the inning.

Questionable scored six runs once again in the top of fourth, and they led 22-1 following the fourth inning. Bob tripled to start the inning, and he scored when Tom grounded out to left for the first out of the inning, making the score 17-1. Mike then tripled, and he scored on a Miller RBI double, which pushed the score to 18-1. Bob doubled, scoring Miller, to make the score 19-1. Tom then cleared the bases with a two-run homer, making him the third Questionable Outfit player in the game to hit for the cycle, and the score was 21-1. Mike then hit a solo homer to make the score 22-1, and the inning finally ended when Miller flew out to the mound for the second out of the inning.

Adam tripled with one out in the bottom of the fourth, but Eastbound & Dahn couldn’t crack into the lead, as Tom retired BK to strand the runner and end the inning.

Questionable Outfit added three more runs in the top of the fifth. Bob and Tom each singled, and Mike drove them both in with a three-run shot to left, his second homer of the game. Christian retired the next two batters to end the inning, and Questionable Outfit led 25-1.

Tom retired the side in order in the bottom of the fifth.

After allowing twenty-five runs in the first five innings, Christian allowed two hits to Tom and Mike in the top of the sixth, but no runs, and Eastbound & Dahn would head into the bottom of the sixth trailing by two dozen runs.

Tom ended the game quickly in the bottom half of the inning, retiring the side in order, giving Questionable Outfit the win.

The win moved Questionable to 15-3 on the season, and the loss dropped Eastbound & Dahn to 2-16.

Erich’s Bat and Dinger’s Arm Lift Cookies & Cream in Tight 2-1 Win Over Ham Slams

Dinger was in control all game against the Ham Slams, and stranded runners on multiple occasions to earn the complete game win for Cookies & Cream

Erich’s two solo home runs were the difference in Cookies & Cream’s 2-1 win over the Ham Slams, and Dinger pitched a complete game, allowing only one run on six hits, a third inning home run to Dustin. The win gave Cookies & Cream a 4-3 edge in the seven game season series between the teams, which could play an important factor in playoff seeding.

Dan took the mound for the Ham Slams, and he rolled through the top of the first, retiring the side in order. Dinger allowed a one-out triple to Levi Sanders in the bottom of the first, but he stranded the runner, retiring Dustin to end the inning with the game scoreless.

Joey led off the top of the second with a double, but Cookies couldn’t plate him, as Dan retired Dinger and Jordan to strand the runner and end the inning. Dinger matched him in the bottom half, retiring the Ham Slams in order.

Cookies got on the board in the top of the third when Erich led off the inning with a solo homer to right, making the score 1-0. Joey followed with a double, and it looked as if Cookies would string together some hits. But Dan buckled down, retiring Dinger and Jordan to end the inning while only allowing a single run.

The Ham Slams even things up in the bottom of the third when Dustin hit a one-out solo homer to left-center, tying the game at 1-1. They couldn’t take the lead, as Dinger retired Steve to end the inning.

Erich started the top of the fourth with a single, but he wouldn’t advance past first, as Dan sent down Joey and Dinger, and the score remained 1-1. Levi Sanders hit his second triple of the game with one out in the bottom of the fourth, but the Slams couldn’t pull ahead, as Dinger retired Dustin to strand him, maintaining the tie.

Cookies would pull ahead again in the top of the fifth. With one out, Erich launched his second solo shot of the game, a towering bomb to right that put Cookies & Cream ahead 2-1.

The Slams looked like they’d bounce back again in the bottom of the fifth. Steve led off with a double, and he moved to third on a Dan single, putting runners on the corners and no outs. The Ham Slams had the tying run in scoring position and the lead run on base, but they couldn’t capitalize. Dinger got Sanders to fly out to shallow right, and Dustin flew out to deep left, stranding both runners, and the Slams trailed 2-1.

Dan sent Cookies & Cream down in order in the top of the sixth, and the Ham Slams needed a run to extend the game.

With one out, Dan doubled, putting the tying run in scoring position. But yet again, the Slams stranded a runner, as Dinger retired Sanders for the second out, ending the game and giving Cookies & Cream the 2-1 win.

The win moved Cookies & Cream to 10-8 on the season, and the loss dropped the Ham Slams to 9-9.
