Jordan Throws One-Hitter, Joey Hits for Cycle as Cookies & Cream Roll Eastbound & Dahn 9-0

Jordan was out one away from pitching a perfect game, allowing only one hit in a shutout win, retiring the first eleven batters he faced. He also went 4-for-7 at the plate with four doubles.

Jordan was dominant on the mound, allowing only a single hit after retiring the games first eleven batters, finishing just one out shy of a perfect game, as Cookies & Cream easily defeated Eastbound & Dahn 9-0. Jordan had all the run support that he needed from the Cookies & Cream offense, as he doubled four times himself, and Joey hit for the cycle, going 5-for-6 with four RBI.

BK started on the mound for Eastbound, and he retired the side in order in the top of the first, sending Jordan and Erich down consecutively. It would be his last perfect inning. Jordan matched him in the bottom of the first, retiring the first two of what would be eleven straight batters retired.

Dinger singled with one out in the top of the second, but BK remained strong through two innings, retiring Jordan to strand the runner and end the inning. Jordan once again sent two Eastbound batters down in order in the bottom of the inning.

Cookies & Cream would get on the board in the top of the third. Erich singled to lead off, and Joey followed with a two-run homer to left, making the score 2-0. Two batters later Jordan doubled, but BK would only allow two runs, retiring Erich to strand the runner and end the inning. Jordan would send Nate C and BK down in order in the bottom of the third.

Cookies extended their lead in the top of the fourth. Joey led off with a double, and he scored when Dinger followed with a double, making the Cookies lead 3-0. Jordan then doubled to score Dinger, and the score was 4-0. Erich singled to put runners on the corners, and Joey cleared the bases with an RBI triple, putting Cookies ahead 6-0. Dinger hit a sac fly to score Joey from third, pushing the lead to 7-0. Jordan followed with his third double of the game, but he was once again stranded at second, as BK retired Erich to end the inning after allowing five runs. Jordan rolled through the bottom of the fourth, retiring his seventh and eighth straight hitters.

Joey doubled to start the top of the fifth, and he moved to third on Dinger’s second consecutive sac fly. BK would escape the inning without damage, as he retired Jordan to strand Joey at third, ending the inning. Jordan retired Kyle and Adam in order in the bottom of the fifth, and he was one inning away from a perfect game.

Cookies would add a few insurance runs in the sixth. Erich led off the inning with a solo shot, making the score 8-0. Joey then singled, completing the cycle, and he moved to third when Dinger grounded out for the first out of the inning. Jordan then doubled for the fourth time in the game, scoring Joey, and pushing the Cookies lead to 9-0. Christian, who had entered the game to replace BK, retired Erich to end the inning, and Eastbound trailed by nine.

Jordan watches as BK’s lazy fly ball falls into right field between Erich and Dinger for a single, breaking up the no hitter in the bottom of the sixth.

Jordan retired Nate C to start the bottom of the sixth, and he was one out away from history. BK came to the plate, and he spoiled it. He hit a looping fly ball to right-center that fell in, and he made it first safely for a single. After retiring eleven straight hitters to start the game, Jordan allowed a single to what would have been the final batter of the game, ending his no-hit bid. Jordan would retire Nate, the next batter, to end the inning and the game. Despite allowing a hit, he completed the shutout, as Cookies & Cream won 9-0.

The win moved Cookies & Cream to 9-8 on the year, and the loss dropped Eastbound & Dahn to 2-15 for the season.

Mike Hits for Cycle as Questionable Outfit Top Ham Slams 6-1

Mike, who went five-for-five to lead Questionable, celebrates with Tom at the plate after his third inning solo homer

Mike went a perfect 5-for-5 and hit for the cycle, and Miller was firmly in control on the mound, allowing only one run on four hits, as Questionable Outfit beat the Ham Slams 6-1 to extend their lead in the EWL season standings.

Miller retired the Ham Slams in order in the top of the first, and his offense got on the board in the bottom half of the inning. Bob singled to lead off the game, and two batters later, Mike doubled to score Bob, making the score 1-0.

Levi Sanders (filling in for Josh, out on vacation) tripled in the top of the second, but the Ham Slams couldn’t tie the game, as Miller retired Dan to strand the runner and end the inning.

Dustin, the Ham Slams’ starter, rolled through the bottom of the second, retiring Bob and Tom consecutively.

Miller continued to pitch effectively in the third, sending Steve and Dustin down in order.

Questionable Outfit would open up a sizable lead in the bottom of the third. Mike led off the inning with a solo homer, putt Questionable ahead 2-0. Miller doubled, and he scored from second on a Bob groundout to center, making the score 3-0. Tom followed with a solo blast, extending the Questionable lead to 4-0. Mike then tripled, and he scored when Miller followed with an RBI triple, pushing the score to 5-0. Bob hit an RBI single to score Miller from third, putting Questionable ahead 6-0, but he was caught trying to extend the hit into a double, ending the inning.

Down six runs, the Slams couldn’t cut into the Questionable lead in the fourth. Sanders led off the inning with a single, but Miller continued to strand runners for Questionable, retiring Dan and Steve to end the inning.

Tom and Mike each singled to start the bottom of the fourth (giving Mike the cycle in four at-bats), and it looked as if Questionable Outfit would open up a huge lead. Dustin buckled down, however, retiring Miller and Bob to avoid further damage, stranding two runners and ending the inning.

The Ham Slams continued to struggle at the plate in the top of the fifth. Dustin and Sanders were retired in order, and the Questionable lead remained 6-0.

Mike tripled with one out in the bottom of the fifth, making him five-for-five, but Questionable couldn’t score him, as Dustin retired Miller to end the inning and send the game to the sixth.

Dan’s solo homer in the sixth was the Ham Slams only offensive production in the game

With their backs against the wall, the Slams got on the board, but couldn’t engineer a big rally. Dan led off the top of the sixth with a solo homer to left, breaking up Miller’s shutout bid. Two batters later, Dustin hit a one-out single, but the inning would end shortly after when Miller retired Sanders to strand Dustin, ending the inning and the game with Questionable Outfit winning 6-1.

The win moved Questionable Outfit to 14-3 on the season, and the loss dropped the Ham Slams to 9-8.

Dustin Homers Twice and Pitches Ham Slams Past Cookies & Cream in Narrow Victory

Dustin had three hits, including two home runs, and also pitched the complete game win for the Ham Slams as they passed Cookies & Cream in the season standings

Dustin had two homers, three RBI, and pitched the complete game win the for Ham Slams as they held on to beat Cookies & Cream 5-4, passing Cookies & Cream in the tight race for second place in the regular season standings. With the win, the Ham Slams held a one game lead over Cookies & Cream.

Jordan started for Cookies, and the Ham Slams got to him early. Dan doubled with one out in the top of the first, and he scored from second on Josh’s RBI single to make the score 1-0. Jordan then retired Dustin to end the inning, and the Slams led by a run.

Dustin rolled through the bottom of the first, retiring the side in order. The Slams continued to swing the bat well in the top of the second, extending their lead.

Dan singled with one out, and he scored from first on a Josh single that made the score 2-0. Dustin then hit his first of two homers in the game, providing his own run support to put the Slams ahead 4-0. Steve followed with a triple, but Jordan avoided a disastrous inning, retiring Dan for the second out.

Dustin retired Dinger and Jordan in order in the bottom of the second, and the Slams continued to lead 4-0.

The Slams would add one more run in the top of the third when Dustin hit a one out solo homer to center, putting the Slams ahead 5-0. Steve then doubled, but Jordan stranded him again, retiring Dan to end the inning.

Josh connects on a single in the second innings. He had two hits and two RBI in the game.

Jordan would get some run support starting in the bottom of the third. After Dustin retired Joey to make it five straight outs to start the game, Erich launched a solo homer to right center, putting Cookies on the board. Dustin then retired Dinger to end the inning, and the score was 5-1.

Jordan pitched his first perfect frame in the top of the fourth, retiring the side in order. Dustin matched him in the bottom half of the inning, and the score remained 5-1.

Dan tripled to start the top of the fifth, but the Slams couldn’t add to their lead. Jordan fanned Josh for the first out of the inning, and Dustin grounded out to end the inning, stranding the runner at third.

Cookies would pull closer in the bottom of the fifth. Erich tripled to lead off, and two batters later, Jordan singled to score him, making the score 5-2. Joey, hitless in the game so far, followed with a two-run homer to left, cutting the score to 5-4. Erich then doubled, putting the tying runner in scoring position. However, Dustin escaped with a lead, retiring Dinger to strand the runner and end the inning.

Dustin led off the top of the sixth with a single, but he was doubled off when he was caught out on a Steve fly ball, ending the inning.

Cookies trailed by one heading into their final at-bat, but they couldn’t rally. Dustin sent Jordan and Joey down consecutively, ending the inning and giving the Ham Slams the 5-4 win.

The win moved the Ham Slams to 9-7 on the season, one game ahead of Cookies & Cream, who dropped to 8-8 with the loss.

Questionable Outfit Walk Off in Bottom of Sixth with 6-5 Win Over Eastbound & Dahn

Miller had five hits in the game, going 5-for-6 with two singles, two doubles, and a triple.

Eastbound & Dahn battled back and forth with Questionable Outfit all game, pushing the first place squad to the limit before surrendering one too many base runners late in the game. After allowing Eastbound to tie the game twice, Questionable walked off with a win in the bottom of the sixth thanks to hits from Tom and Miller.

Norris, playing in place of Bob on paternity leave, took the mound for Questionable. He allowed a one out single to Ruby in the top of the first, but avoided damage, retiring Nate O to strand the runner and end the inning.

Adam made his first career pitching appearance starting for Eastbound & Dahn, and he did well early, sending Mike and Tom down in order in the bottom of the first.

Norris rolled through the top of the second for Questionable, retiring the Eastbound side in order, and he would get run support in the bottom half of the inning.

Norris, filling in for Bob, makes a catch at the mound

Miller led off the bottom of the second with a triple, and he scored on a Norris ground out to center, making the score 1-0. Mike followed with a triple, and Tom drove him in with an RBI single to make the score 2-0. Miller then singled, and Questionable Outfit had two runners on. Adam buckled down, retiring Norris to strand both runners, avoiding a disastrous inning.

Down 2-0, Eastbound punched back in the top of the third. Ruby doubled, and two batters later, Max Power hit an RBI single to make the score 2-1. Adam followed wth a single to put runners on the corners, and Eastbound evened things up when Ruby hit an RBI single to score Max from third. Eastbound had two runners on and were threatening, but couldn’t take the lead, as Norris retired Nate to end the inning.

Mike doubled to start the bottom of the third, but Adam stranded him, retiring Tom and Miller and the game remained tied at 2-2 through three innings.

Mike rounds first and heads to second on a double in the third inning

Eastbound pulled ahead in the top of the fourth when Adam provided his own run support with a one-out solo homer to right. Norris retired Ruby to end the inning, and Eastbound led 3-2.

Questionable bounced back in the bottom of the fourth, reclaiming the lead. Norris and Mike each singled, and Tom tied the game with an RBI single to score Norris, making the score 3-3. Miller followed with a double, scoring Mike, putting Questionable ahead 4-3. Tom scored on a Norris sacrifice fly that gave Questionable a 5-3 lead, and Adam then retired Mike to end the inning, stranding Miller at third.

Nate ranges to center field to catch a drooping fly ball in front of Ruby

Down 5-3, Eastbound would fight back yet again in the top of the fifth. Nate doubled, and two batters later, Adam hit his second homer of the game, a two-run blast that evened the score at 5-5. Ruby followed with a single, putting the go ahead run on base, but Norris cracked down, retiring Nate to end the inning.

Adam pitched well for Eastbound and also led them on offense, collecting three hits including two homers late in the game

With the game tied at 5-5, Questionable threatened in the bottom of the fifth. Miller singled with one out, and he moved to second on a Norris single. Questionable had two men on, including the go ahead runner in scoring position. But Adam escaped the jam, retiring Mike for the second out, stranding both runners.

The game remained tied heading into the sixth. Eastbound went quietly in the top half, as Norris fanned Max and got Adam to ground out to center to end the inning.

Tom led off the bottom of the sixth with a single, putting the winning run on base. Miller then doubled, and although Tom didn’t score on the play, Questionable had two runners in scoring position and no outs. Adam got Norris to ground out to right, but Tom scored from third on the play, ending the game and giving Questionable Outfit the 6-5 win.

The win moved Questionable Outfit to 13-3 on the season, and the loss dropped Eastbound & Dahn to 2-14.

Miller Quiets Cookies in 5-2 Questionable Outfit Win

Miller kept the Cookies & Cream bats in check, with the exception of Erich, who had two homers in the game

Miller was strong on the mound and allowed only two runs on four hits as Questionable Outfit topped Cookies & Cream 5-2 without their captain and MVP Bob. Tom had a double, a two-run homer and three RBI to lead Questionable on offense, and Mike also contributed three extra-base hits in the win.

Dinger started for Cookies, and he retired the Questionable side in order in the top of the first.

Miller allowed a one out single to Erich in the bottom of the first, but he avoided damage, retiring the next batter, Dinger, to strand the runner and end the inning.

Questionable took an early lead in the top of the second. Norris singled with one out, and he scored from first when Mike hit an RBI double. Dinger retired Tom to end the inning, and Questionable Outfit led 1-0.

Miller rolled through the bottom of the second, and Dinger matched him in the top of the third.

Miller scrambles from the mound and catches a fly ball in foul territory

Erich led off the bottom of the third with a solo shot to right, tying the game at 1-1. Miller retired the next two batters to end the inning, and Questionable would regain the lead in the top of the fourth.

Mike started the inning wth a triple, and he scored on Tom’s RBI double that made the score 2-1. Miller followed with a double, scoring Tom and extending the Questionable Outfit lead. Dinger retired the next two batters to prevent a big inning from developing, and Cookies trailed 3-1.

Miller continued to confused Cookies in the bottom of the fourth, retiring the side in order. Dinger once again matched him in the top of the fifth, but he wasn’t getting enough run support to draw even.

Cookies went down consecutively again in the bottom of the fifth when a Miller sent Dinger and Jordan down in order.

Questionable added a few insurance runs in the top of the sixth. Mike tripled with one out, and Tom followed with a two-run homer to deep left, putting Questionable ahead 5-1. Dinger retired Miller to end the inning, and Cookies trailed by four runs.

Tom had two extra-base hits and drove in three of Questionable Outfit’s five runs in the win

Erich cut into the Questionable lead when he hit a one out solo homer to lead off the sixth, his second bomb of the game, making the score 5-2. Dinger followed with a single, but Cookies couldn’t continue to mount a comeback, as Miller retired Jordan to strand the runner and end the game, giving Questionable Outfit the 5-2 win.

The win moved Questionable to 12-3 on the season, and the loss dropped Cookies & Cream to 8-7, tied with the Ham Slams for second place in the EWL standings.
