Nate and Eastbound & Dahn have been displeased with their performance through two weeks, as they have been outscored by their opponents 68-6 in four games.

The wiffle squads returned to the diamond for week 2 of wiffle action, and rain would eventually bring the games to a halt with one game being postponed until week 3.

In the first game of the week, Cookies & Cream pulled away from the Ham Slams late to win 6-3. Joey looked strong in his first pitching appearance of the season, and Guthrie continued to tear through opposing pitchers, going 4-for-6 with 2 singles, 2 homers, and 3 RBI. Former Wiffler of the Year Blose played in his first game in 2016, also going 4-for-6.

Questionable Outfit dominated Eastbound & Dahn for the second time this year in the second game of the night, winning 16-2. Bob hit for the cycle, going 7-for-8 with 3 singles, 2 doubles, a triple, a home run, 6 runs scored, and 3 RBI. Mike was also on fire, going 5-for-7 with a single, 2 doubles, 2 homers, 3 runs scored, and a whopping 8 RBI. Tom pitched well for Questionable, earning the complete game win while allowing only 2 runs on 7 hits.

Cookies & Cream continued the league’s piling on of Eastbound & Dahn, beating them 15-2 in a wet, rainy game. Joey led Cookies, going 5-for-8 with 2 doubles, a triple, 2 home runs (including a grand slam), 4 runs scored, and 9 RBI. Guthrie and Blose also went 5-for-8 in the game, with Guthrie hitting two more homers and Blose registering 5 singles. Guthrie pitched the complete game win, allowing 2 runs on 8 hits and moving to 2-0 on the season.

The fourth and final game of week 2 between Questionable Outfit and the Ham Slams was postponed, as the rain that fell during the third game left the field conditions unplayable. The two teams will meet twice in week 3, as weather permits.

Cookies moved to a perfect 4-0 and in sole possession of first place with two wins in week 2. Meanwhile, Eastbound fell to 0-4 and is off to one of the worst starts in team history. They will look forward to getting the big bat and trusty fielding of Tim back in their lineup in week 3.

Wiffle action continues next week on Tuesday, May 17th.
