Brian went 3-for-4 with a single, a triple, a home run, and two RBI to lead Jack Shack.

2019 EWL Wiffle Series Champions, Jack Shack, climbed to first place in the EWL standings for the first time in 2020 with a win over Guacamol-yay, the last game of the first half of the 2020 EWL season. Jack Shack led 4-0 midway through the game, and Jack Shack starter, Dustin, held off a late Guacamol-yay rally to win 4-3, moving them to 6-4 on the season in sole possession of first place. Dustin pitched the complete game win, and Brian went 3-for-4 with a single, a triple, and a home run to lead Jack Shack in victory. The defending champs will head into the second half of the season with a one game lead on the team they beat in last year’s Wiffle Series, Shady Characters, and Cheap Goats.

Josh K took the mound for Guacamol-yay, and the first batter he faced, Brian, hit a leadoff homer, putting Jack Shack ahead 1-0 immediately. Turbo followed with a single, but Josh K limited the damage, retiring Dustin and Blaine to strand Turbo, ending the inning.

Dustin rolled through the bottom of the first, sending Jan and Josh K down in order.

Jack Shack extended their lead in the top of the second. John, making his 2020 EWL debut, singled to start the inning. Two batters later, Brian hit a one-out triple, scoring John to make the score 2-0. Turbo then singled, scoring Brian, and Jack Shack led 3-0. Dustin grounded out to right to end the inning, and Jack Shack had pulled ahead by three.

Blaine singled to start the top of the third, but he was caught attempting to extend the hit for the first out of the inning. Josh K then retired Josh to end the inning.

Brian makes an acrobatic catch for an out in left-center.

Doc led off the top of the fourth with a double, and he moved to third when Brian followed with a single. With no outs and runners on the corners, Turbo grounded out to center, scoring Doc on the play. Josh K then got Dustin to fly out to left, and Jack Shack led 4-0.

Dustin delivers a pitch to Ryan with Jude on first. Dustin pitched the complete game win for Jack Shack, allowing only three runs on seven hits.

Down 4-2, Guacamol-yay would once again need two runs to extend the game. Jude led off the second consecutive inning with a solo blast, and Guacamol-yay trailed 4-3. Ryan singled, putting the tying run on base, and Jan followed with a single, putting the go-ahead run on base. Dustin remained on the mound despite Gucamol-yay starting the sixth with three consecutive hits and threatening to tie or win the game with no outs. But things came together for Jack Shack when Josh K came to the plate and flew out to Dustin along the third base line. Dustin doubled up Ryan on the play, ending the inning and the game, stranding both runners and giving Jack Shack the 4-3 win.

The win moved Jack Shack to 6-4 on the season, and the loss dropped Guacamol-yay to 4-6.
