Dave Powers Jack Shack to 8-3 Win Over Guac Boys

Dave, the only rookie who has registered an at-bat during the 2026 EWL season to date, continued to get his footing on the Wiffle Diamond, turning in his second straight big game, going 4-for-4 with three extra-base hits, including a two-run homer, as Jack Shack topped Guac Boys 8-3. Jon M was in control on the mound throughout, retiring nine straight batters at one point, and Jacob also had four hits, as Jack Shack picked up their second straight win and handed Guac Boys their second straight loss after the defending champs started the season 5-0.
Bohn took the mound for Guac Boys and worked a quick top of the first, retiring Josh and Jon M in order.

Jon M started for Jack Shack, and Guac Boys struck immediately. Bohn led off the bottom of the first with a solo homer, giving Guac Boys a 1-0 lead. Alec followed with a double, and after Tone grounded out, Jan drove in Alec with an RBI single. Jan was thrown out attempting to stretch the hit into a double, ending the inning, but Guac Boys had taken an early 2-0 advantage.

Jacob singled to start the top of the second, and when Jon D followed with a double, Jacob was thrown out trying to score. With one out, Dave came through with an RBI single, scoring Jon D to cut the deficit to 2-1. Josh grounded out to end the inning with Dave stranded at first, and Guac Boys led by a run.

Form and Bohn both flew out in a quick bottom of the second as Jon M settled into a rhythm on the mound.

Jon M flew out to begin the top of the third before Jacob doubled. Bohn escaped the threat, however, retiring Jon D to strand the runner and preserve the Guac Boys lead.

Alec and Tone were retired in order in the bottom of the third, and the game remained 2-1.

Jack Shack grabbed the lead in the top of the fourth. Dave led off with a double before Josh launched a two-run homer, putting Jack Shack ahead 3-2. Jacob hit a one-out single, but Bohn limited the damage by retiring Jon D to strand him at first, ending the inning.

Jan and Form were retired in order in the bottom of the fourth as Jon M continued to keep the Guac Boys bats quiet.

Jack Shack broke the game open in the top of the fifth. Dave led off with his second double of the game, and two batters later, Jon M hit an RBI double to score Dave, extending the lead to 4-2. Jacob then delivered an RBI double to score Jon M, making the score 5-2. Jon D hit Jack Shack’s third consecutive RBI double which scored Jon M to push the Jack Shack lead to 6-2. Dave came up for the second time in the inning and crushed a two-run homer, capping a five-run rally and giving Jack Shack an 8-2 lead. Josh flew out to end the inning, and Jack Shack had taken a six-run lead.

Guac Boys showed signs of life in the bottom of the fifth. Bohn reached on a single but was thrown out trying to stretch it into a double. Alec followed with a single, and Tone drove him home with an RBI double, cutting the deficit to 8-3. Jan grounded out to end the inning, stranding Tone at second.

Jon M and Jacob were both retired in the top of the sixth as Bohn kept the deficit at five runs.

Guac Boys needed a rally in the bottom of the sixth. Bohn singled to begin the inning, but Alec flew out, and Bohn was doubled off second base to end the game as Jack Shack secured an 8-3 victory.

The win moved Jack Shack to 4-4 on the season, and Guac Boys fell to 5-2 with the second straight defeat.
