Defending champs Guac Boys remained undefeated after a big top of the sixth propelled them to a 13-9 win over Cheap Goats, their third consecutive win to start the 2026 season. Alec had two homers in his 2026 season debut, Form had a triple, two homers, and five RBI in his first appearance of the season, and Bohn went 5-for-7 with two bombs and pitched the complete game win. Courtlen and Christian had huge games in the Cheap Goats loss, each going 4-for-4.

Conor started on the mound for Cheap Goats, and Guac Boys got to work immediately in the top of the first. Bohn and Tone opened the game with consecutive singles before Form connected for a three-run homer, giving Guac Boys a 3-0 lead. Alec grounded out before Bohn followed with a solo homer, extending the lead to 4-0. Tone grounded out to end the inning.

Bohn took the mound for Guac Boys and retired Joey and Kevin in order in the bottom of the first.

Form and Alec were retired in order in the top of the second as Conor worked a quick inning for Cheap Goats.

Cheap Goats answered in the bottom of the second. Courtlen led off the inning with a solo homer before Christian followed with a solo shot of his own, and the back-to-back blasts cut the deficit to 4-2. Dinger and Conor followed with consecutive singles before Joey hit a single. Dinger and Conor were both doubled up on the play, ending the inning and preventing further damage.

Bohn flew out to begin the top of the third before Tone grounded out as Conor continued to settle in on the mound.

Kevin led off the bottom of the third with a triple before Courtlen drove him in with an RBI single, cutting the Guac Boys lead to 4-3. Christian then connected for a two-run homer, his second of the game, giving Cheap Goats their first lead at 5-4. Dinger and Conor were both retired to end the inning.

Form grounded out to begin the top of the fourth before Alec connected for a solo homer, his first of the season, tying the game at 5-5. Bohn followed with his second homer of the game, giving Guac Boys the lead back at 6-5. Tone then connected for a solo homer, extending the advantage to 7-5. Cheap Goats turned to their bullpen, bringing Christian to the mound, and he retired Form to end the inning.

Joey struck out to begin the bottom of the fourth before Kevin grounded out as Bohn worked another quick inning.

Alec grounded out to begin the top of the fifth before Bohn flew out as Christian kept Cheap Goats within striking distance.

Courtlen led off the bottom of the fifth with his second homer of the game, cutting the deficit to 7-6. Christian followed with a triple before Dinger drove him in with an RBI double, tying the game at 7-7. Conor grounded out before Joey singled, but Joey was thrown out attempting to advance to second, ending the inning.

Tone grounded out to begin the top of the sixth before Form connected for his second homer of the game, a solo shot that gave Guac Boys an 8-7 lead. Alec followed with a single before Bohn drove him in with an RBI single, extending the lead to 9-7. Tone then added an RBI single to score Bohn, and Guac Boys led 10-7. Form followed with an RBI triple, scoring Tone and pushing the lead to 11-7. Alec followed with a two-run homer, capping a six-run inning and extending the Guac Boys advantage to 13-7. Cheap Goats then turned to Dinger on the mound, and he retired Bohn to end the inning.

Kevin flew out to begin the bottom of the sixth before Courtlen connected for his third homer of the game. Christian followed with his second homer of the evening, the second time the two had gone back-to-back in the game, cutting the deficit to 13-9. Dinger later doubled, but Conor flew out to end the game as Guac Boys secured the 13-9 victory.

The win moved Guac Boys to 3-0 on the season while Cheap Goats dropped to 1-2.

Josh doubled to begin the top of the sixth, and two batters, later, Jacob hit an RBI single, giving Jack Shack a 5-4 lead. Jon D grounded out to end the inning, and Jack Shack led by a run heading into the final frame.

Jon D remained on the mound to close things out for Jack Shack, and Shady Characters could not rally in the bottom of the sixth. Nate struck out and Zach grounded out to end the game as Jack Shack secured the 5-4 victory, their first of the season.

The win moved Jack Shack to 1-2 on the season, and Shady Characters dropped to 1-2.

The defending champs got off to a hot start in week 1 of the 2026 season, going 2-0 including a dramatic 10-9 walk-off win over Cheap Goats in the season opener. Their opening week offensive explosion was led by Kyle, who had a monster stat line with multiple record book entries. As a result, he was named Pabst Blue Ribbon Wiffer of the Week for week 1 of the 2026 season.

In Guac Boys’ season-opening 10-9 win over Cheap Goats, Kyle went 5-for-6 with two singles, a double, two triples, four runs scored, two RBI, and two putouts.

In an 15-8 win over Jack Shack, Kyle had a historic performance, going 7-for-8 with three singles, a double, a triple, two home runs, four runs scored, six RBI, and four putouts. He hit the 12th grand slam in EWL history, he hit for the cycle for the first time in his wiffle career, and he became the first player in the sixteen year history of the EWL to hit for the cycle and hit a grand slam in the same game.

In total, Kyle went 12-for-14 with five singles, two doubles, three triples, two home runs, eight runs scored, six RBI, six putouts, a grand slam, and hit for the cycle in what may be the best opening week of an EWL season in league history.

This is the fourth time Kyle has been named Wiffler of the Week, with the other three instances coming in 2022 and 2021 (twice).

Joey, Kevin, Courtlen, and Christian all went deep and had multiple extra-base hits, and Dinger delivered the strongest pitching outing of the early 2026 season, as Cheap Goats defeated Shady Characters 10-5 for their first win of the year.

Lucas started for Shady Characters, and he retired Joey and Kevin in order in the top of the first.
Dinger took the mound for Cheap Goats, and the first batter he faced, Zach, led off the inning with a solo home run, giving Shady Characters a 1-0 lead. Thomas and Billy both flew out to end the inning.

Courtlen led off the top of the second with a double before Christian drove him in with an RBI double, tying the game at 1-1. Dinger and Conor were both retired to end the inning, stranding Christian.

Tom K struck out to begin the bottom of the second before Lucas connected for a solo home run, putting Shady Characters back ahead 2-1. Nate struck out to end the inning, and Dinger had struck out the side.

Cheap Goats broke through in the top of the third. Joey doubled to begin the inning, and Kevin followed with another double. Courtlen grounded out before Christian hit a two-RBI double to give Cheap Goats a 3-2 advantage. Dinger followed with an RBI triple, scoring Christian and extending the lead to 4-2 before Conor grounded out to end the inning.

Zach and Thomas were retired in order in the bottom of the third.

Cheap Goats continued to add on in the top of the fourth. Joey led off the inning with a solo home run, and Kevin followed with a solo homer of his own to push the lead to 6-2. Courtlen then doubled before Christian connected for a two-run homer, making the score 8-2. Shady Characters turned to their bullpen, bringing Tom K to the mound, and he retired Dinger and Conor to end the inning.

Billy led off the bottom of the fourth with a triple before Tom K drove him in with an RBI single to make the score 8-3. Lucas later singled, and Nate added an RBI groundout to cut the deficit to 8-4. Dinger escaped further damage, getting Zach to fly out to end the inning.

Lucas returned to the mound in the top of the fifth. With one out, Kevin connected for his second homer of the game, making the score 9-4. Courtlen followed with a solo home run, and the back-to-back homers extended the Cheap Goats lead to 10-4. Lucas retired Christian to end the inning.

Thomas opened the bottom of the fifth with a solo home run, cutting the deficit to 10-5. Tom K hit a one-out single, but Dinger stranded him, getting Lucas to ground out to end the inning.

Dinger and Conor both flew out in a quick top of the sixth.

Shady Characters couldn’t rally, as Nate and Zach both flew out in the bottom of the sixth, and Cheap Goats secured a 10-5 victory.

The win moved Cheap Goats to 1-1 on the season while Shady Characters fell to 1-1.
