The Ham Slams scored seven runs in the bottom of the first inning as Tim, Alan, and Steve homered, and it would prove to be enough run support for Tim in a 10-6 win.

Joey led off the top of the first with a single, and two batters later, Dinger singled to put runners on first and third with one out. It looked as if Cookies would go up early, but Tim got Vassallo to fly out to the mound, retiring the side and stranding both runners.

Tim led off the game with a solo homer, and after Dan and Alan each singled, Steve hit a three-run jack that put the Slams up 4-0. Cookies turned to their bullpen after Dinger allowed the first eight batters to reach base safely. Vassallo came in to relieve him, and he retired the first two batters he faced to end the inning.
