The Ham Slams, who each had at least three hits and were led by Tim who hit for the cycle, scored early in often against Eastbound, pulling away early for a 15-2 win.
Andrew made his second consecutive start for the Ham Slams, and he pitched a scoreless frame in the top of the first. BK made his first career start for Eastbound, and he matched Andrew, blanking the Slams in the bottom of the first. The game was scoreless after an inning.
Eastbound would score their first run of the season in the top of the second. With one out, BK doubled, and the next batter, Nate, drove him in with an RBI double to make the score 1-0. Eastbound couldn’t extend the rally, as Andrew retired Christian to end the inning.

Down 1-0, the Slams responded in the bottom of the second. Tim doubled to lead off, and he scored when Bobby followed with an RBI double, tying the game at 1-1. Dan then came to the plate and ripped a two-run bomb to left-center, putting the Slams ahead 3-1. BK regrouped, retiring Josh and Andrew to end the inning.
Andrew had met his innings limit for week 1, so the Slams turned to Tim from the bullpen. He started well, retiring Kyle and BK in order in the top of the third.
The Slams would add to their lead in the bottom of the third. Tim led off the inning with a solo inside-the-park homer, making the score 4-1. Bobby then doubled and moved to second on a Dan groundout. With one out, Josh hit an RBI double, scoring Bobby to make the score 5-1. Andrew would single, scoring Josh from second to push the lead to 6-2. For what may be the first time in league history, Tim capitalized on a host of fielding and throwing errors to get his second inside-the-park homer of the inning, and the Ham Slams led 8-1. BK then retired Bobby to end the inning.
Tim gave up a one-out single to Christian in the top of the fourth, but Eastbound couldn’t rally, as Kyle was retired to end the inning.
The Slams piled on in the bottom of the fourth. Dan singled and moved to second on a Josh single, putting runners on first and second. Andrew then hit an RBI single, scoring Dan to make the score 9-1. Tim followed with an RBI single to score Josh, and Bobby hit an RBI double to score Tim. The next two batters were retired to strand Bobby, but the Slams had scored three more runs to give them an 11-1 lead.
Tim continued to roll in the top of the fifth, retiring the side in order.
The Ham Slams would put the game away officially in the bottom of the fifth. Andrew doubled to start the inning, and Tim followed with an RBI triple, completing the cycle and making the score 12-1. Bobby singled to put runners on first and third, and Dan followed with a three-run homer, and the Slams led 15-1. Josh singled, and it looked as if the inning would continue, but BK fanned Andrew and retired Tim for the first time in the game to end the inning.
Down 14 runs, Eastbound had a big deficit to overcome in the top of the sixth. Christian led off the inning with a single and moved to second on a Kyle groundout. BK then hit a one-out single, scoring Christian to cut the score to 15-2. Tim wouldn’t allow a spectacular rally, however, retiring Nate for the second out of the inning, giving the Ham Slams a 15-2 win.
The win moved the Ham Slams to 1-1 on the season, and the loss dropped Eastbound & Dahn to 0-2.
