Two-time defending champions Questionable Outfit lost one of the greatest pitchers of all time, Reilly, in the offseason, but it appears as if they picked up a huge bat in free agency. Nate, playing in his first career game, had the single greatest debut in league history as Questionable pounded Eastbound 22-0 to pick up where they left off last season.

Eastbound started Christian on the mound, and he was in trouble early and often. Plagued by gopher balls and poor defense, Questionable Outfit was relentless in their domination to start the season. Bob, the three-time defending MVP of the league, started the game with a single, and he scored when Mike followed with an RBI triple to put Questionable ahead 1-0 immediately. Nate, in his first career at bat, launched a blast to deep left-center, and his two-run shot made the score 3-0. Christian then retired Bob, but Questionable would add a few more runs. Mike hit a solo homer to left, and Nate made back-to-back jacks with his second homer of the inning. Christian then retired Bob for a second time, and Questionable led 5-0.

Coming off home runs in his first two at-bats, Nate started on the mound for Questionable. After retiring Nate O of Eastbound, he gave up a one-out single to Christian. Eastbound couldn’t threaten, as Nate retired Kyle to end the inning.

Christian retired Mike to start to the top of the second, but he couldn’t get out of the inning unscathed. Nate hit a solo blast, his third in as many career at-bats, and Questionable led 6-0. Bob, the defending home run champion and single-season home run leader, hit his first of the 2016 season, putting Questionable ahead 7-0. Christian then retired Mike to end the inning.

Nate continued to roll in the bottom of the second. He retired BK, making his EWL debut, for the first out. After a one-out single by Nate O, Christian was retired to end the inning, maintaining the seven-run lead.

Questionable continued to lay it on in the top of the third, extending their lead considerably. Nate started the inning with a double, and he scored when Bob followed with an RBI double to make the score 8-0. Christian retired Mike for the first out, but Nate then hit an RBI triple, his fifth hit in as many at-bats, scoring Bob to make the score 9-0. Bob drove in Nate with an RBI double to extend the score to 10-0, and Mike followed with a two-run blast to clear the bases. Christian finally retired Nate for the first time in his career, but Questionable led 12-0.

Nate retired the side in order in the bottom of the third, and Questionable piled on in the top of the fourth.

Bob led off the inning with a single, and he scored on a two-run Mike homer which made the score 14-0. Nate then doubled, and he moved to third on a Bob single. With runners on second and third, Mike singled, scoring just one run. Nate followed with a single, scoring both base runners, making the score 17-0. Bob doubled to put runners on second and third, and Mike hit an RBI single to score a run and extend the lead to 18-0. Nate grounded out for the first out of the inning, but a runner scored on the play, making the score 19-0. With one out and a runner on second, Bob hit a two-run shot, putting Questionable Outfit ahead 21-0. Christian then retired Mike to end the inning, and Eastbound trailed by three touchdowns after three and a half innings.

Nate O decided to switch hit and bat from the left side in the bottom of the fourth, and Nate promptly fanned him for the first out of the inning. Nate then retired Christian to maintain the twenty-one run lead.

Questionable would add their final runs in the top of the fifth. Eastbound pulled Christian from the mound and went to BK, who retired Nate to start the inning. Bob followed with a solo homer, his third of the game. Mike then doubled, and it looked as if Questionable would have another huge inning. Fortunately, BK retired Nate to end the inning, and Questionable would lead 22-0.

Kyle doubled to start the bottom of the fifth, showing some heart for Eastbound, but the rally would end there. Nate retired BK and Nate O consecutively, stranding the runner to end the inning.

Questionable was held scoreless for the first time in the game in the top of the sixth, as BK retired Bob and struck out Mike for consecutive outs.

Down 22 runs, Eastbound went down in flames in the bottom of the sixth. Christian was retired for the first out of the inning. Kyle knocked a base hit into the outfield, and after a series of errors, raced around the bases. In an attempt to make an inside-the-park home run and put Eastbound on the board, he was caught in between third and home for the final out of the game, giving Questionable Outfit the win.

The win moved Questionable to 1-0, and the loss dropped Eastbound to 0-1.

– Mike and Nate each hit for the cycle, and Bob was a triple away from making Questionable Outfit the first team in league history to hit for the cycle as an entire team. Tim also hit for the cycle for the Ham Slams.
