Guthrie and Joey combined to drive in eight of the ten Cookies & Cream runs, as Cookies took a big lead early and never looked back in a 10-3 win over Questionable Outfit.

Mike made his first start of the year for Questionable Outfit, and he avoided trouble in the top of the first. Guthrie continued his hot streak from game one, hitting a double to lead off the game. Cookies couldn’t capitalize early, however, as Joey and Dinger were retired in order to strand the runner, and Mike had pitched a scoreless inning.

Dinger took the mound in his first start of the season for Cookies & Cream. He gave up a leadoff single to Bob, but retired Mike and Nate to end the inning, and the game was scoreless after one.

Cookies got out their bats in the top of the second. Jordan doubled to lead off, and he moved to third on a Guthrie double. With out out, Dinger singled off the left-center field wall, scoring but Jordan and Guthrie to put Cookies ahead 2-0. Jordan then singled to put runners on first and second, and Guthrie hit a three-run cannon to left field, giving Cookies a 5-0 lead. Mike would then retire Joey to end the inning.

Dinger cruised through the bottom of the second, sending Bob and Mike down in order.

Cookies would add to their lead in the top of the third. With one out, Jordan singled, and Guthrie followed with a single to put runners on first and second. Joey came to the plate and got his first hit of the 2016 season, a three-run blast to left that made the score 8-0. Mike then got Dinger to fly out to end the inning.

Questionable would get on the board in the bottom of the third. Bob doubled with one out, and Mike hit a line-drive to left-center, scoring him to make the score 8-1. However, on the play, Mike tried to extend a double into a triple and was caught in between bases for the second out, ending the inning.

Up seven runs, Cookies & Cream piled on in the top of the fourth. With one out, Guthrie singled, and Joey followed with a two-run homer, his second blast of the game, to make the score 10-1. Dinger then singled, but Mike retired Jordan to end the inning.

With one out in the bottom of the fourth, Bob hit a solo homer, pulling Questionable within eight runs at 10-2. Mike followed with a double, but Dinger held the Questionable offense in check, retiring Nate to end the threat.

Questionable turned to their bullpen in the top of the fifth, putting Nate on the mound. He retired Guthrie and Joey in order.

Questionable continued to chip away in the bottom of the fifth. For the second consecutive inning, Bob led off with a solo homer, and the score was 10-3. Mike then doubled, and Nate followed with a single. Bob came to the plate with runners on first and second, and he laced a line-drive to right center. Joey made a surprising one-handed catch, and the runners were unable to tag or advance. Dinger then got Mike to fly out to right, and he escaped the jam without allowing additional runs.

Nate continued to pitch effectively in the top of the sixth, sending Dinger and Jordan down consecutively.

Down 10-3, Questionable couldn’t rally in the bottom of the sixth. Dinger retired Nate to start the inning, and after Bob hit a one-out double, Mike was retired for the second out of the inning, ending the game and giving Cookies & Cream the win.

The win moved Cookies & Cream to 2-0 on the season, and the loss dropped Questionable Outfit to 1-1.
