
Adam R pitched the complete game win for Jack Shack, and he also hit his first home run of the 2019 season in the first inning
Adam R of Jack Shack pitched a complete game win, allowing only two runs despite surrendering ten hits, as Guacamol-yay left runners on base and couldn’t capitalize with runners in scoring position in a 3-2 loss. Josh D and Bryan each contributed two hits for Jack Shack in their first win of the season, and Guacamol-yay finished week one winless.
After pitching in relief in their first game of the season, Josh K started on the mound for Guacamol-yay. He retired Josh D to start the game, but the next batter, Adam R, crushed a solo homer to right-center, putting Jack Shack up 1-0.
Guacamol-yay bounced back in the bottom of the first to tie the game. Adam doubled to lead off, and Cory drove him in with an RBI single, making the score 1-1. Two batters later, Jude singled to put runners on first and second with one out, but Adam R escaped the first of many jams, retiring Ben to strand both runners and end the inning.
Josh D tripled with one out in the top of the second, but the score remained tied, as Josh K retired Adam R to strand Josh D at third, ending the inning.
Adam singled to start the bottom of the second for Guacamol-yay, and Cory followed with a double to put runners on second and third with no outs. Guacamol-yay couldn’t plate a runner, however, as Adam R got Josh K to fly out out to the mound, and Jude to ground out to the mound, ending the inning and maintaining the 1-1 tie.
Jack Shack would pull ahead in the top of the third. Bryan tripled to lead off, and Turbo drove him in with an RBI double, putting Jack Shack ahead 2-1. Josh D then singled, scoring Turbo from second, and Jack Shack led 3-1. Adam R hit a sacrifice fly, moving Josh D into scoring position at second, but the rally would end there. Josh K got Bryan to ground out to center for the second out, stranding Josh D at second, ending the inning.
Guacamol-yay narrowed the lead in the bottom of the third. Ben led off with a single, and two batters later, Cory hit an RBI double to score him from first, making the score 3-2. The tying run was in scoring position, but Adam R stranded another runner, retiring Josh K for the second out of the inning.
Josh K retired Jack Shack in order in the top of the fourth, and Adam R matched him, sending Jude and Ben of Guacamol-yay down consecutively in the bottom of the fourth.
Josh K fanned Adam R to start the top of the fifth. Bryan followed with a one-out single, but Jack Shack couldn’t extend the lead, as Turbo was retired to end the inning with the score remaining 3-2.
Cory doubled with one out in the bottom of the fifth for his fourth hit of the game. Adam R continued to avoid damage, however, retiring Josh K to strand the tying run at second, ending the fifth with the score 3-2.
Josh K sent Josh D and Adam R down in order in the top of the sixth, and Guacamol-yay needed one run to extend the game in the bottom of the sixth.

Josh K was effective on the mound, allowing only three runs on six hits, but didn’t get enough run support from his offense, and took the loss for Guacamol-yay
Jude led off the inning with a double, and the tying run was on second with no outs. Ben followed with a single, putting runners on the corners, and both the tying and go-ahead runs were on base for Guacamol-yay. Once again, and for the final time, Adam R got out of a jam when Adam grounded out to the mound, and Adam R stepped on the mound with Ben in between bases, completing a double play that ended the inning and the game.
The 3-2 victory moved Jack Shack to 1-1 on the year, and Guacamol-yay fell to 0-2.
