
Dylan led Shady Characters in the win, going 4-for-6 with two singles and two homers, including his fourth leadoff homer of the 2022 season.
Despite missing the two most potent bats from their lineup, first place Shady Characters squeezed past Jack Shack 5-2 for yet another victory, moving to 14-1 on the season. Dylan set the pace for Shady Characters, going 4-for-6 rom the leadoff spot with two singles, two homers, and three RBI. Tom pitched the complete game win, allowing only two runs on seven hits, and Shady Characters added yet another notch to their W column.
Josh started on the mound for Jack Shack, and he allowed a leadoff homer to Dylan, the first batter he faced in the top of the first. Tom followed with a triple, and remained at third when Nate followed with a double. Lucas then singled, scoring Tom, and Shady Characters led 2-0. Dylan hit a deep sac fly to center, allowing Nate to tag and score on the play, pushing the Shady Characters lead to 3-0. Josh then retired Tom, stranding Lucas at second and ending the inning.
Austin and Josh each singled to start the bottom of the first for Jack Shack, but Tom buckled down and stranded them. He retired Adam and Jared to leave both runners on base, and the score remained 3-0.
Josh settled down in the top of the second, retiring Nate and Lucas consecutively.
Tom matched him in the bottom half of the inning, sending Austin and Josh down in order.
Dylan led off the top of the third with a single, but Josh stranded him, striking out Tom and retiring Nate to end the inning.
Jack Shack got on the board in the bottom of the third when Adam led off the inning with a solo homer, cutting the score to 3-1. Tom retired the next two batters, Jared and Austin, to end the inning.
Shady Characters got the run back in the top of the fourth. Lucas singled, and he moved from first to third when Dylan followed with a single. With no outs and runners on the corners, Tom doubled, scoring Lucas to extend the Shady Characters lead to 4-1. Josh got the next batter, Nate, to fly out to center, and Dylan was thrown out trying to tag and score on the play, ending the inning.

Shady Characters added an insurance run when Dylan hit a one-out solo homer in the top of the fifth, pushing the lead to 5-2. Tom followed with a single, but when Nate also singled, Tom was caught in between second and third, ending the inning.
Tom rolled through the bottom of the fifth, retiring Josh and Adam in order.
Josh retired Lucas and Dylan consecutively in the top of the sixth, and Jack Shack trailed by three runs heading into the bottom of the sixth.
Jared led off the inning with a single, and he moved from first to third when Austin followed with a single. Jack Shack had runners on the corners with no outs and the tying run at the plate, but Tom buckled down to close things out. He retired Josh and Adam to strand both runners, ending the inning and giving Shady Characters the 5-2 win.
The win moved Shady Characters to 14-1 on the season, and the loss dropped Jack Shack to 5-9.
