Joey went 4-for-6 with two doubles, a triple, a homer, two runs scored, and three RBI as Cheap Goats beat Jack Shack 8-4
Joey, Courtlen, Christian, and Dinger each had four hits as Cheap Goats cruised past Jack Shack 8-4. Cheap Goats led 8-1 and held on to win 8-4 thanks to four extra-base hits by Joey, three by Courtlen, and two by Christian and Dinger. Dinger pitched the complete game win on the mound, scattering four runs on seven hits.
Ryan took the mound for Jack Shack, and after retiring Joey to start the game, he allowed a one-out single to Courtlen. Christian followed with a double, putting runners on second and third with one out. Dinger then singled, scoring Courtlen, and Cheap Goats led 1-0. Kevin hit an RBI single to score Christian, and the score was 2-0. Joey followed with a double, but Kevin was thrown out trying to advance to third on the play, ending the inning.
Dinger rolled through the bottom of the first, retiring Josh and Jon M in order.
Courtlen led off the top of the second with a solo homer, extending the Cheap Goats lead to 3-0. Christian followed with a single, but he was caught out trying to advance the hit to a double. Dinger then doubled, but Ryan avoided further damage, striking out Kevin to end the inning, stranding the runner.
Jacob singled to start the bottom of the second, and two batters later, he scored when Josh hit an RBI double. Dinger retired Jon M to end the inning, and Jack Shack had cut the score to 3-1.
Joey led off the top of the third with a solo homer, putting Cheap Goats in front 4-1. Courtlen followed with his second solo shot of the game, and the back-to-back homers gave Cheap Goats a 5-1 lead. Christian doubled, and he moved to third when Dinger followed with a single. Cheap Goats had runners on the corners with no outs, and it appeared as if they would blow the game open, but Ryan buckled down and got out of the jam. He retired Kevin and Joey in order to strand both runners, ending the inning, and Jack Shack trailed by four runs.

Dinger cruised through the bottom of the third, sending Josh and Jon M down consecutively.

Courtlen then doubled, scoring Joey, and the score was 7-1. Ryan retired Christian to strand Courtlen at second, ending the inning, and Jack Shack were down six runs.

Ryan hit a one-out double in the bottom of the fifth, but Jack Shack couldn’t capitalize. Dinger retired Josh to strand the runner at second, ending the inning, and the score remained 7-1.
Kevin hit a one-out double, in the top of the sixth, and Joey drove him in with an RBI double that pushed the Cheap Goats lead to 8-1. Ryan opted to intentionally walk Courtlen, putting runners on first and second with one out. Christian then singled, loading the bases for Dinger. Ryan escaped the jam, getting Dinger to fly out to the mound, stranding all three runners and ending the inning.
Jack Shack entered the bottom of the sixth down seven runs, and they attempted to rally. Jon M doubled to start the inning, and two batters later, Ryan hit an RBI to score him, cutting the deficit to 8-2. Josh followed with a two-run homer, and Jack Shack had narrowed the Cheap Goats lead to 8-4. Jon M singled, but Dinger retired Jacob for the second out of the inning, ending the rally and giving Cheap Goats an 8-4 victory.
The win moved Cheap Goats to 2-5 on the season, and the loss dropped Jack Shack to 1-6.
