Kevin’s Two Homers Power Cheap Goats Past Shady Characters 5-3

Kevin homered twice, including the go-ahead two-run bomb in the fifth inning, and Dinger turned in another strong effort on the mound as Cheap Goats beat Shady Characters 5-3. Cheap Goats picked up their third consecutive victory to start the second half of the season, and Shady Characters continued to struggle, dropping their fifth straight.

Lucas started for Shady Characters and retired Joey and Kevin in order in the top of the first.

Dinger took the mound for Cheap Goats, and Shady Characters took an early lead. Thomas led off with a single, and Zach followed with another base hit, putting two runners on with no outs. Lucas grounded out, but Thomas scored on the play to give Shady Characters a 1-0 lead. Nate then singled home Zach, extending the advantage to 2-0 before Thomas grounded out to end the inning, stranding Nate at first.

Cheap Goats answered in the top of the second. Courtlen led off with a solo homer, cutting the deficit to 2-1. Christian grounded out before Dinger singled, but Lucas retired Conor to end the inning with Shady Characters still in front.

Shady Characters responded in the bottom of the second. Zach launched a solo homer to restore a two-run lead, 3-1. Lucas followed with a single, but Nate grounded out and Thomas flew out, as Dinger stranded the runner, ending the inning.

Joey grounded out to begin the top of the third before Kevin connected for a solo homer, trimming the lead to 3-2. Courtlen flew out to end the inning.

Zach grounded out to begin the bottom of the third before Lucas doubled. Nate followed with a single, putting runners on first and third with one out, but Dinger escaped the threat by retiring Thomas on a groundout to preserve the one-run deficit.

Christian led off the top of the fourth with a double, but Dinger and Conor both flew out, leaving the tying run stranded at second.

Zach and Lucas were retired in order in the bottom of the fourth as Dinger settled into a groove.

Cheap Goats finally broke through in the top of the fifth. Joey led off with a triple, and Kevin followed with his second homer of the game, a two-run shot that gave Cheap Goats their first lead at 4-3. Courtlen added a single, but Christian and Dinger were both retired to end the inning.

Nate and Thomas were retired in order in the bottom of the fifth, and Cheap Goats carried their one-run advantage into the final inning.

Conor opened the sixth with a solo homer, providing an insurance run and extending the lead to 5-3. Joey and Kevin were both retired to end the inning.

Dinger returned to the mound looking to finish the job. He retired Zach on a flyout before Lucas grounded out to end the game, securing a 5-3 Cheap Goats victory.

The win moved Cheap Goats to 7-6 on the season while Shady Characters fell to 3-10.

Alec and Tone Lead Guac Boys Past Jack Shack 8-2

Tone continued to swing a hot bat, going 4-for-5 with three extra-base hits, and Alec drove in five runs, including a three-run homer that put the game away, as Guac Boys cruised past Jack Shack 8-3, maintaining their hold on first place in the EWL standings.

Jon M started on the mound for Jack Shack, and Guac Boys got on the board early. Tone doubled with one out before Alec drove him home with an RBI double, giving Guac Boys a 1-0 advantage. Form later grounded out to end the inning.

Bohn took the mound for Guac Boys, and Jack Shack answered immediately. With one out in the bottom of the first, Jon M launched a solo homer, tying the score at 1-1. Bohn struck out Jon D to end the inning.

Guac Boys regained the lead in the top of the second. Jan led off with a solo homer, putting Guac Boys in front 2-1. Bohn singled, and Tone followed with an RBI triple to score him, extending the lead to 3-1. Alec grounded out for the first out of the inning, but Tone scored on the play, pushing the lead to 4-1. Form grounded out to end the inning with Guac Boys ahead by three.

Dave and Josh were retired in a quick bottom of the second.

Jan grounded out to begin the top of the third before Bohn singled and Tone followed with another base hit, putting two runners on with one out. Alec crushed a three-run homer, breaking the game open and extending the Guac Boys lead to 7-1. Form flew out to end the inning.

Jon M flew out and Jon D grounded out in a quick bottom of the third as Bohn continued to roll.

Jan struck out to begin the top of the fourth before Bohn singled for the third time in the game. Tone followed with an RBI double, pushing the Guac Boys lead to 8-1. Alec flew out to end the inning, stranding Tone at second.

Dave and Josh were both retired in order in the bottom of the fourth.

Form doubled to begin the top of the fifth, and Jan followed with a single, putting two runners in scoring position but Jon M escaped further damage when Bohn grounded into an inning-ending double play.

Jon M led off the bottom of the fifth with a double, but Bohn stranded him, retiring Jon D and Dave to preserve the seven-run lead.

Tone grounded out and Alec flew out in a quick top of the sixth.

Josh led off the bottom of the sixth with a triple before Jon M drove him home with an RBI single, cutting the deficit to 8-2. The rally would end there, however, as Bohn retired Jon D and Dave to end the game as Guac Boys secured an 8-2 victory.

The win moved Guac Boys to 9-4 on the season while Jack Shack fell to 7-6.

Kevin of Cheap Goats Named Pabst Blue Ribbon Wiffler of the Week

After catching fire during Cheap Goats’ surprising 2025 playoff run, Kevin has continued to punish opposing pitchers in 2026, assuming the role as Cheap Goats’ most dangerous bat and remaining a fixture atop the EWL league leaders. He continued to crush in week 6, leading Cheap Goats to two big wins to start the second half of the season, and he was named Pabst Blue Ribbon Wiffler of the Week for week 6 of the 2026 season.

In a 10-7 win over Shady Characters, Kevin went 3-for-5 with a triple, two homers, three runs scored, and four RBI.

In an 11-10 win over Guac Boys, he went 4-for-5 with three singles, a triple, two runs scored, and four RBI.

In total, Kevin went 7-for-10 three singles, two triples, two home runs, five runs scored, and eight RBI as Cheap Goats moved to .500 on the season.

This is the first time Kevin has been named Wiffler of the Week in his wiffle career.

Cheap Goats Mount Nine-Run Rally in Fifth to Come from Behind and Defeat Guac Boys 11-10

Cheap Goats trailed 9-2 heading into the bottom of the fifth, when they erupted for nine runs on ten hits, taking an 11-9 lead and narrowly holding on to win 11-10. In yet another instant classic against Guac Boys, Cheap Goats finally prevailed thanks to big games from Kevin and Christian, pulling the Goats to .500 with eight games to go in the 2026 season.

Christian started for Cheap Goats, and after allowing a leadoff single to Bohn, he retired Tone and Alec, stranding the runner to end the inning.

Bohn took the mound for Guac Boys. He allowed singles to Joey and Kevin to start the bottom of the first, but when Courtlen grounded out, Kevin was doubled up, ending the inning and stranding two runners.
Guac Boys jumped out to a commanding lead in the top of the second. Form led off the inning with a solo shot, putting Guac Boys on the board 1-0. Jan tripled, and Bohn followed with a two-run homer, making the score 3-0. Tone followed with a solo homer, and the back-to-back jacks extended the Guac Boys lead to 4-0. Alec doubled, and Form followed with an RBI triple to score him, pushing the lead to 5-0. Christian retired Jan and Bohn to strand Form at third, ending the inning, and Cheap Goats trailed by five runs.

Tone was retired to begin the top of the third before Alec singled. Form then crushed a two-run homer, extending the Guac Boys lead to 7-0. Jan flew out to end the inning, and Guac Boys led by seven runs.

Guac Boys turned to Jan out of the bullpen in the bottom of the third. Joey led off the inning with a triple, and he scored when Kevin grounded out, putting Cheap Goats on the board at 7-1. Bohn then got Courtlen to ground out, ending the inning.

Bohn and Tone were both retired in the top of the fourth.

Christian led off the bottom of the fourth with a solo homer, cutting the deficit to 7-2. Jan retired Dinger and Joey to end the inning, and Guac Boys led by five runs.

Alec grounded out to begin the top of the fifth before Form tripled. Jan then launched a two-run homer, extending the Guac Boys lead to 9-2. Bohn grounded out to end the inning, and Guac Boys appeared firmly in control.

Cheap Goats mounted a massive rally in the bottom of the fifth. Kevin led off the inning with a single, and Courtlen followed with an RBI double, cutting the deficit to 9-3. Christian tripled, scoring Courtlen, and Cheap Goats trailed 9-4. Dinger followed with an RBI double, scoring Christian, and Guac Boys led 9-5. Two batters later, Kevin hit a one-out RBI single to score Dinger, and the lead had been trimmed to 9-6. Courtlen followed with a two-run bomb, and Cheap Goats were down only a run with the score 9-8. Christian hit his second solo shot of the game, and the score was tied 9-9. Dinger singled, and Joey followed with a double, putting two runners in scoring position. Kevin hit a two-RBI triple, and Cheap Goats had taken an 11-9 lead. Jan finally escaped the inning, retiring Courtlen for the second out, and Cheap Goats had scored nine runs to erase a seven run hole and take a two-run lead heading into the sixth.

Christian remained on the mound to close things out in the top of the sixth. Guac Boys got right to work, as Tone led off with a solo homer, cutting the score to 11-10. Alec followed with a double, putting the tying run in scoring position and the winning run at the plate. Christian escaped the jam, retiring Form and Jan to strand Alec at second, ending the inning and the game, as Cheap Goats had come back to win 11-10.

The win moved Cheap Goats to 6-6 on the season, and the loss dropped Guac Boys to 8-4.

Jack Shack exploded in the third inning, scoring seven runs and swatting four homers, en route to defeating Shady Characters 9-5. Josh and Jacob each had four extra-base hits in the win, and Jon D kept Shady Characters’ bats at bay in a complete game effort, sending them to their fourth straight loss.

Jon D started for Jack Shack and retired Tom and Thomas in order in the top of the first.

Lucas took the mound for Shady Characters, and Jack Shack struck first in the bottom of the opening inning. Josh led off with a double, and two batters later, Jacob drove him home with an RBI triple, giving Jack Shack a 1-0 lead. Lucas got Jon D to fly out to end the inning, stranding Jacob at third.

Zach and Billy were both retired in a quick top of the second as Jon D settled in early.
