Blaine of Jack Shack Voted Pabst Blue Ribbon Wiffler of the Week for Week 9

11 Sep

Blaine hit seven towering blasts in week 9, going 8-for-9 with a double and seven home runs, earning Wiffler of the Week honors for week 9

After delivering a historically dominant performance in week 9 that included seven home runs, Blaine of Jack Shack was voted Wiffler of the Week for week 9 of the 2020 EWL season.

Blaine, who was signed as a free agent from the basketball court late in the first half of the season, has been a solid cog in the Jack Shack machine since joining the squad. He stepped into the lineup and immediately contributed offensively, and he also has made an impact in the field, strengthening the Jack Shack defense. However, prior to week 9, he did not display anything like the power surge he delivered in week 9, when he increased his season home run total from one to eight in two games.

In a 12-11 loss to Cheap Goats, Blaine went 5-for-5 with a double, four home runs, five runs scored, and five RBI.

In an 15-13 loss to Shady Characters, Blaine went 3-for-4 with three home runs, four runs scored, five RBI, and he was the first batter intentionally walked during the 2020 season.

In total, Blaine went 8-for-9 with a double, seven home runs, nine runs scored, ten RBI, and an intentional walk, one of the most impressive single week performances in the 10 year history of the EWL.

Jack Shack lost both games, but Blaine did his part to provide run support, and despite the losses, was nearly unanimously voted as the week 9 Wiffler of the Week.

This is the first time Blaine has been named Wiffler of the Week during his short wiffle career.
