Bradyn had five RBI, and the Dentists combined for five home runs as they beat Pumice on Slow for their first win in franchise history.
Brad took the mound for Pumice and got out of the first inning without giving up a run. Chris retired the side in order for the Dentists as well, and the game was scoreless heading into the second inning.
4 out of 5 Dentists busted out in the second inning for five runs. Bradyn drove in four of the five runs, including an inside-the-park three run home run, thanks in large part to fielding errors by Pumice on Slow! Down 5-0, Pumice was unable to score in the bottom of the second, when Chris retired the side in order, including a strikeout of Gaurav.
The Dentists added to their lead in the third, when Chris led off the inning with a solo homer. Brad retired Mike, but gave up back-to-back solo home runs to Bradyn and Ron, which extended the Dentist’s lead to 8-0. Brad retired Chris to end the third inning, the last batter he would face.
Pumice on Slow! finally got on the board in the bottom of the third. Luke led off the inning with a single, and Holly followed with a two-run bomb to right field, cutting the score to 8-2. Chris then retired Gaurav and Brad.
Pumice on Slow! made the call to the bullpen, bringing in Gaurav for his first appearance of the day. He retired the side in order in the top of the fourth.
With one out, Pumice on Slow! rallied in the bottom of the fourth with three consecutive homers off Chris. Holly started things off with her second consecutive home run, followed by Gaurav and Brad. The three runs cut the deficit to 8-5, but it was the closest Pumice would get, as Luke struck out to end the inning.
4 out of 5 Dentists added an insurance run in the top of the fifth when Ron hit a home run to the deepest part of the field in dead center, his second of the game. Chris retired the side in order in the bottom of the fifth.
The Dentists were unable to add to their lead in the top of the sixth, but Chris retired Brad and John in order in the bottom of the sixth to give his team their first win of the year.
