Joey carried a perfect game into the fifth inning against Eastbound & Dahn, allowed only two base runners, and faced only 13 batters, one more than the minimum, as Cookies & Cream remained undefeated in 2016 with a 4-0 win.
Eastbound went down in order in the top of the first, as Joey retired Nate and Cara consecutively.
Christian took the mound for Eastbound & Dahn, and he fell behind early. Blose singled to lead off, and he moved to third when Joey followed with a double. Dinger then hit an RBI single, scoring Blose to put Cookies ahead 1-0. Jordan grounded out for the first out of the inning, moving the runners to second and third. Blose followed with a two-RBI triple, clearing the bases. Christian then retired Joey to end the inning, but Cookies had jumped out to a 3-0 lead after an inning.

Joey retired Kyle and BK in order in the top of the second, maintaining the lead. Eastbound removed Christian from the mound, and BK took the ball in relief. The first batter he faced, Dinger, singled, but BK stranded him, retiring the next two batters to end the inning.
Eastbound couldn’t reach base in the top of the third, as Christian and Nate each grounded out to center to end the inning. Eastbound continued to rotate pitchers in the bottom of the third, switching to Cara. She retired Joey for the first out, and then struck out Dinger to end the inning.

Joey continued to pitch perfect innings in the top of the fourth, retiring Cara and Kyle in order, and the score remained 3-0. Eastbound kept the pitching carousel going in the bottom of the fourth, putting BK back on the mound. He retired the side in order, sending Jordan and Blose down consecutively.
Joey had been perfect through four innings, retiring the first eight batters that he faced. The perfect game bid ended in the fifth, however, as BK led off the inning with a line-drive off the backboard of the basketball hoop in left that resulted in a single. Eastbound couldn’t rally to cut into the Cookies lead, as the next batter, Christian, grounded out to Blose in left. Blose then promptly got the ball to the mound, catching BK in between first and second to complete the double play, ending the inning.
Cara returned to the mound in the bottom of the fifth, and the first batter she faced, Joey, hit a solo homer to left. Dinger followed with a single, but Cara minimized the damage, retiring the next two batters to end the inning.
Eastbound trailed 4-0 heading into their final at-bat. Joey remained on the mound, and he gave up his second hit of the game when Nate started the inning with a double. Eastbound couldn’t capitalize, as Joey retired Cara and Kyle to strand Nate, end the inning, and give Cookies & Cream the 4-0 win.
The win moved Cookies & Cream to 5-0, and Eastbound dropped to 0-5 with the loss.
