Dinger Pitches Three Hitter as Cheap Goats Crush Jack Shack 14-1

Dinger had his best pitching outing of the season, allowing only one run on three hits in a complete game win for Cheap Goats

Dinger allowed only three hits in a dominant performance on the mound, and was one out away from a shutout in Cheap Goats’ 14-1 blowout of Jack Shack. Brett went 5-for-6 to lead Cheap Goats, with a single, two doubles, and two homers, as Cheap Goats went ahead big early and never looked back.

Dave was named the starting pitcher for Jack Shack, and he was hit hard in the top of the first. After retiring the first batter of the game, Joey, Brett doubled. Jordan followed with a two-run blast, putting Cheap Goats ahead 2-0. Christian then doubled, and Dinger drove him in with an RBI double that made the score 3-0. Joey then hit a two-run shot to left-center, extending the Cheap Goats lead to 5-0. Dave finally escaped the inning when Brett grounded out to center for the second out.

Dinger allowed a one-out triple to Turbo in the bottom of the first, but Jack Shack couldn’t capitalize. Dinger retired Brian for the second out of the inning, and the score remained 5-0.

Christian singled with one out in the top of the second, but Dave avoided another big Cheap Goats inning, retiring Dinger to strand the runner and end the inning.

Dave singled to start the bottom of the second, but it would be the last Jack Shack hit until the sixth inning. Dinger retired Nate and Turbo to strand the runner, ending the inning.

Brett hit a solo homer with one out in the top of the third, making the score 6-0. Dave retired Jordan to end the inning.

Dinger began a run of perfect innings in the bottom of the third, sending Brian and Dave down in order.

Dave matched Dinger in the top of the fourth, retiring Christian and Dinger consecutively.

Brett makes an outstanding bobbling catch for an out in right field

Nate and Turbo were sent down consecutively in the bottom of the fourth, and Cheap Goats added to their lead in a big way in the fifth.

Brett doubled with one out and Jordan followed with his second two-run homer of the game, putting Cheap Goats ahead 8-0. Christian then singled, and Dinger followed with a single to put two runners on with one out. Joey also singled, scoring Christian, and the score was 9-0. Brett then launched a three-run blast to right-center, and Cheap Goats had blown up their lead to 12-0. Jordan followed with a double, but Dave finally got out of the inning, retiring Christian for the second out, as Jack Shack trailed by twelve.

Dinger pitched his third consecutive perfect inning in the bottom of the fifth, retiring Brian and Dave in order.

Cheap Goats added two more to their lead in the top of the sixth. Dinger doubled, and Joey hit his second two-run blast of the game, which put Cheap Goats in front 14-0. Brett followed with a single, and it looked as if Cheap Goats would have their second historic offensive output of the season. But it wouldn’t happen, as Jordan flew out for the first out, and Brett was doubled up on the play, ending the inning.

Turbo, who was responsible for Jack Shack’s only run, makes a jumping catch for an out in left field

Jack Shack trailed by fourteen runs, and Dinger had retired eight consecutive batters heading into the bottom of the sixth. Dinger continued to roll, retiring Nate for the first out of the inning. One out away from a two-hit shutout, Turbo played spoiler to Dinger and Cheap Goats, hitting a one-out solo homer to right-center, putting Jack Shack on the board. They couldn’t rally, however, as Dinger retired Brian to end the inning and the game, giving Cheap Goats a 14-1 victory.

The win moved Cheap Goats to 5-1 on the season, and the loss dropped Jack Shack to .500 at 3-3.
