Josh Powers Jack Shack Past Cheap Goats 6-4

Josh had two homers and three RBI, leading Jack Shack to a 6-4 win over Cheap Goats. Turbo homered and tripled, Adam had three extra-base hits, and Brian kept the Cheap Goat bats at bay, as Jack Shack never trailed in the win. Brett, Joey, and Dinger each homered in the Cheap Goats loss.

Dinger took them mound for Jack Shack, and they hit him early. With one out, Brian hit a solo homer to left-center. The next batter, Josh D, hit a solo homer to right-center, and the back-to-back jacks gave Jack Shack a 2-0 lead. Dinger then retired Turbo to end the inning.

Cheap Goats responded in the bottom of the first. Brett led off the game with a solo homer, cutting the score to 2-1, and Joey followed with a solo shot. The Cheap Goats back-to-back homers tied the game at 2-2. Two batters later, Jordan hit a one-out single, but Brian, Jack Shack’s starter, retired Christian to strand Jordan at first, ending the inning.

Dinger allowed a one-out double to Adam in the top of the second, but stranded him, retiring Brian to end the inning.

Brian rolled through the bottom of the second, retiring Dinger and Brett.

Turbo tripled with one out in the top of the third, but Dinger escaped trouble, retiring Doc to strand the runner, ending the inning.

Joey led off the bottom of the third with a double, but Cheap Goats couldn’t take the lead, as Brian retired Miller and Jordan, stranding Joey at second, and the game remained tied at 2-2.

Jack Shack pulled ahead in the top of the fourth. Adam led off with a double, and two batters later, Josh hit a two-run bomb to right, making the score 4-2. Turbo followed with a solo homer to center, and Jack Shack had hit back-to-back homers for the second time in the game. Dinger retired Doc to end the inning, and Jack Shack now led 5-2.

Dinger provided his own run support in the bottom of the fourth. With one out, he hit a solo homer to left, narrowing the score to 5-3. Brian then retired Brett to end the inning.

Cheap Goats turned to the bullpen, bring Miller to the mound in the top of the fifth, and Jack Shack added an insurance run. Adam led off with a triple, and Brian hit a deep fly to right, which Brett caught for the first out, but Adam tagged and scored. The sac fly put Jack Shack in front 6-3. Dinger then retired Josh D to end the inning.

Miller tripled with one out in the bottom of the fifth, and Jordan drove him in with an RBI double, cutting the score to 6-4. Brian stranded Jordan at second, however, retiring Christian to end the inning.

Miller retired the side in order in the top of the sixth, sending Turbo and Doc down consecutively.

Brian remained on the mound to close things out for Jack Shack, and he retired Dinger and Brett in order in the bottom of the sixth, ending the game and giving Jack Shack the 6-4 win.

The win moved Jack Shack to 8-9 on the season, and the loss dropped Cheap Goats to 8-9, leaving the teams tied in the standings with three games to go.
