Jack Shack’s two Jons went a combined 7-for-8 with four home runs to deliver the squad their first win of the 2024 season in a 10–8 win over Cheap Goats. Despite trailing 6-1, Jack Shack outscored Cheap Goats 9-2 down the stretch to earn the victory.
Ryan took the mound for Jack Shack, and after retiring Joey to start the game, he allowed a solo homer to Courtlen, making the score 1-0. Christian followed with a double, but Ryan stranded him, retiring Dinger for the second out of the inning.
Dinger started for Cheap Goats, and after retiring Josh to start the bottom of the first, he gave up a solo homer to Jon M, tying the score at 1-1. Dinger then retired Jacob to end the inning, and the game was tied.

Cheap Goats opened up a lead in the top of the second. Joey led off with a solo homer, making the score 2-1. Courtlen doubled, and he moved to third when Christian followed with a single. Dinger then singled, driving in Courtlen, and Cheap Goats led 3-1. Ryan got Joey to ground out to left for the first out of the inning, but Christian scored on the play, extending the score to 4-1. Courtlen then launched a two-run homer, his second bomb of the game, and Cheap Goats were ahead 6-1. Christian doubled, but Ryan escaped further damage, retiring Dinger for the second out of the inning, stranding the runner at second.
Jack Shack responded in the bottom of the second. Jon D led off with a double, and he scored from third when Dinger got Ryan to ground off for the first out of the inning. Josh then doubled, and Jon M followed with his second homer of the game, a two-run shot that cut the Cheap Goats lead to 6-4. Jacob hit a solo shot, and the back-to-back jacks had narrowed the score to 6-5. Dinger then retired Jon D to end the inning, and Jack Shack trailed by a run.
Joey led off the top of the third with a double, and Courtlen followed with his third round-tripper of the game, a two-run shot that put Cheap Goats ahead 8-5. Ryan then retired Christian and Dinger to end the inning, and Jack Shack trailed by three runs.
Courtlen went 4-for-6 with a double, three home runs, four runs scored, and five RBI in the Cheap Goats loss.
Jack Shack continued to rally in the bottom of the third. Ryan grounded out to start the inning, but Josh followed with a double. He scored from first when Jon M hit an RBI single, making he’s score 8-6. Jacob then doubled, and Jon M scored from first to cut the deficit to 8-7. Jon D followed with a two-run homer, and Jack Shack had taken their first lead of the game at 9-8. Dinger retired Ryan to end the inning, and Cheap Goats trailed by a run,.
Ryan rolled in the top of the fourth, sending Joey and Christian down in order, maintaining the Jack Shack lead.
Jack Shack added an insurance run in the bottom of the fourth. Dinger retired Josh to start the inning, but Jon M followed with his third homer of the game, putting Jack Shack in front 10-8. Dinger then retired Jacob to end the inning.
Dinger doubled with one out in the top of the fifth, but Ryan stranded him, retiring Joey to strand the runner, and Jack Shack continued to lead by two runs.
Jon D doubled to lead off the bottom of the fifth, but when Ryan lined out to center, Jon was doubled up to end the inning.
Ryan stayed on the mound to close things out for Jack Shack in the top of the sixth, and he made quick work of it. He retired Courtlen and Christian in order, ending the inning and the game, giving Cheap Goats a 10-8 win, their first of the 2024 season.
The win moved Jack Shack to 1-4 on the season, and the loss dropped Cheap Goats to 1-4.
