Every Shady Characters player had multiple hits, with Tom, Nate, Lucas and Daniel collecting three each, as the defending champs offense was too much in a runaway 12-4 win over Cheap Goats. Daniel went deep twice and drove in five runs, and Lucas and Tom combined to keep the Cheap Goats offense in check on the mound, as Shady Characters remained undefeated four games into the 2024 season.
Christian started on the mound for Cheap Goats, and he got into trouble early. He allowed a leadoff double to Tom, and Nate followed with a two-run homer, putting Shady Characters ahead 2-0. Christian retired the next two batters, Lucas and Thomas, to end the inning.
Lucas started for Shady Characters and he retired Joey and Courtlen in order in the bottom of the first.
Shady Characters opened up a huge lead in the top of the second, pulling away for good. Daniel led off the inning with a solo homer, making the score 3-0. Tom followed with a single, and Nate also singled, putting runners on first and second with no outs. Lucas then singled, loading the bases for Thomas. One week after setting the single-game record for home runs, Thomas had a chance to etch his name into the record books with a grand slam, but he hit an RBI single, scoring Tom, and Shady Characters led 4-0. Daniel hit an RBI double, scoring two runs, and the score was 6-0. Tom hit an RBI single to score Thomas, pushing the lead to 7-0, and Nate followed with a bases-clearing RBI single, scoring Daniel and Tom to extend the Shady Characters lead to 9-0. Christian retired Lucas for the first out of the inning, but Thomas followed with an RBI triple, scoring Nate from first, and Shady Characters had opened up a 10-0 lead. Christian finally escaped the inning by retiring Daniel for the second out, but Cheap Goats trailed by ten runs.

Daniel went 3-for-5 with a double, two home runs, three runs scored, and five RBI to power Shady Characters past Cheap Goats 12-4
Lucas rolled through the bottom of the second, sending Christian and Dinger down consecutively, maintaining the ten-run lead.
Christian was more effective in the top of the third, retiring Tom and Nate in order.
Kevin led off the bottom of the third with a solo homer, the first long ball of his career, and the score was 10-1. Lucas retired Joey and Christian to end the inning.
Lucas led off the top of the fourth with a single, but Christian stranded him, striking out Thomas and retiring Daniel to end the inning, and the score remained 10-1.
Lucas retired the side in order in the bottom of the fourth, sending Christian and Dinger down consecutively.
Cheap Goats turned to the bullpen in the top of the fifth, bringing Dinger to the mound. He allowed a leadoff single to Tom, but when Lucas flew out to the mound, Tom was doubled up, ending the inning.

Cheap Goats started a rally in the bottom of the fifth. Kevin led off the inning with a solo homer, his second of the game, making the score 10-2. Joey followed with a solo shot, and Courtlen made it back-to-back-to-back with another solo homer. Cheap Goats had narrowed the deficit to 10-4 and continued to rally. Christian singled, and he moved to second when Dinger followed with a single. Kevin then singled, loading the bases for Joey. Shady Characters made a pitching change, bringing Tom to the mound to fight through the jam. He faced Joey with no outs and the bases loaded, and he got him to fly out in foul territory for the first out of the inning. Tom then retired Courtlen for the second out, stranding all three runners, escaping a bases loaded no outs jam unscathed, and the score was 10-4.
Shady Characters added a few insurance runs in the sixth. Lucas led off with a double, and two batters later, Daniel went deep for the second time in the game, hitting a two-run homer that put Shady Characters on top 12-4. Dinger retired Tom for the second out of the inning, and Cheap Goats trailed by eight runs.
Lucas returned to the mound in the bottom of the sixth, and he made quick work of Cheap Goats. He retired Christian and Dinger in order to end the inning and the game, giving Shady Characters a 12-4 victory.
The win moved Shady Characters to 4-0 on the season, and the loss dropped Cheap Goats to 1-5.
