Guac Boys Explode for Thirteen Run Fourth Inning in 13-6 Defeat of Shady Characters

Guac Boys erased an early deficit with one of the biggest offensive innings in recent EWL history, erupting for all thirteen of their runs in the top of the fourth, defeating Shady Characters 13-6. Alec hit a pair of three-run homers in the fourth inning, and Tone led Guac Boys, going 6-for-7 with four singles, a double, a homer, four runs scored, and two RBI, as the defending champs improved to 4-0 on the season.

Lucas started on the mound for Shady Characters. Bohn opened the game with a single but was forced out at second when Tone followed with a single. Lucas then retired Form to strand Tone at first, ending the inning.

Bohn took the mound for Guac Boys, and after retiring Zach, Thomas put the home team on the board in the bottom of the first with a solo homer. Billy followed with another solo shot, giving Shady Characters an early 2-0 lead. Tom then grounded out to end the inning.

Alec and Bohn both grounded out in the top of the second as Lucas worked a quick inning for Shady Characters.

Lucas flew out to begin the bottom of the second before Nate singled. Bohn stranded him, retiring Zach to end the inning.

Tone doubled to begin the top of the third, but Guac Boys couldn’t capitalize. Lucas retired Form and Alec to strand the runner at second, and Guac Boys continued to trail 2-0.

Guac Boys turned to Tone on the mound in the bottom of the third. Thomas singled and Billy connected on an RBI double to score him, extending the Shady Characters lead to 3-0. Tom and Lucas were both retired to end the inning, stranding Billy at second.

Guac Boys exploded in the top of the fourth with one of the biggest innings in EWL history. Bohn and Tone opened the inning with consecutive singles before Form drove in Bohn with an RBI single, putting Guac Boys on the board 3-1. Alec followed with a three-run homer, and Guac Boys led 4-3. Bohn grounded out before Tone singled again, and Form followed with a one-out double to put runners on second and third. Alec then singled, loading the bases, and Bohn hit a two-RBI single, extending the lead to 6-3. Tone followed with another single before Form hit a two-RBI double, making the score 8-3. Alec struck again with his second three-run homer of the inning, extending the Guac Boys lead to 11-3. Bohn singled for the third time in the inning, and Tone followed with a two-run shot, his fourth hit of the inning, as Guac Boys led 13-3. Shady Characters then turned to their bullpen, bringing Tom K to the mound, and he retired Form to end the inning.

Zach and Thomas both singled in the bottom of the fourth, but Tone stranded both runners, retiring Billy and Tom to end the inning.

Lucas returned to the mound for Shady Characters in the top of the fifth and after allowing a one-out single to Bohn, he retired Tone to end the inning.

Lucas and Nate were retired in order as Tone worked another quick inning in the bottom of the fifth.

Form and Alec were retired in the top of the sixth, and Shady Characters trailed by ten runs heading into the final frame.

Shady Characters attempted a late rally in the bottom of the sixth. Zach grounded out before Thomas tripled. Billy followed with a two-run homer, his second bomb of the game, cutting the deficit to 13-5. Tom then connected for a solo homer, and the back-to-back jacks made the score 13-6. The rally would end there, however, as Tone retired Lucas for the second out of the inning, ending the game.

The win moved Guac Boys to 4-0 on the season while Shady Characters dropped to 1-3.

Thomas and Billy led Shady Characters in the loss. Thomas went 4-for-4 with two singles, a triple, a homer, three runs scored, and an RBI. Billy went 3-for-4 with a double, two home runs, two runs scored, and four RBI.
