Christian of Cheap Goats Named Pabst Blue Ribbon Wiffler of the Week

15 Aug

After putting together the best offensive week of his wiffle career, Christian was voted the Pabst Blue Ribbon Wiffler of the Week for week 9 of the 2022 season. Despite his team dropping both week 9 games, Christian was swinging a hot bat and did his part to keep Cheap Goats in contention with five extra-base hits and several warning track shots that nearly made for a legendary week.

In a 4-1 loss to Shady Characters, Christian went 2-for-3 with two doubles and drove in the only Cheap Goats run in the game.

In a dramatic 5-4 loss to Jack Shack, he went 3-for-4 with a triple, two home runs, two runs scored, and three RBI.

Christian is now the second consecutive player to be named Wiffler of the Week for a team that lost both games that week.

This is the second time Christian has been voted Wiffler of the Week during his wiffle career. He also earned the honors during week 2 of the 2020 playoffs.

Kyle of Guac Boys Named Pabst Blue Ribbon Wiffler of the Week

Kyle has led the Guac Boys in their climb up the EWL standings throughout the 2022 season and has them on pace to contend for the #2 seed in the playoffs, which would be their strongest finish in franchise history. Despite losing both of their week 8 games, he was voted Wiffler of the Week after posting big numbers in the losses.

In a 10-9 loss to Cheap Goats, Kyle went 3-for-6 with a single, a double, a home run, two runs scored, and four RBI.

In a 13-7 loss to Jack Shack, he went 4-for-6 with two singles, two home runs, two runs scored, and four RBI.

In total, Kyle went 7-for-12 with three singles, a double, three homers, four runs scored, and eight RBI in week 8.

This is the third time Kyle has earned Wiffler of the Week honors. He was named Wiffler of the Week for week 1 of the 2021 season, his first week in the EWL, and he again was voted Wiffler of the Week after week 6 of the 2021 season.

Dylan of Shady Characters Named Pabst Blue Ribbon Wiffler of the Week

8 Aug

By being voted Wiffler of the Week for week 7 of the 2022 season, Dylan not only became the sixth Shady Characters player to be named Wiffler of the Week in 2022 so far, Shady Characters became the first team with six different players to win the award in one season, and Shady Characters became only the second team (joining Questionable Outfit in 2018) to have all of their regular players win Wiffler of the Week in the same season, which they accomplished in only seven weeks, with at least six more weeks to go. After Shady Characters took their first loss of the season in week 6, Dylan got his squad back on track, leading Shady Characters to two wins in week 7 and a 13-1 record, the best in league history after seven weeks.

In a 12-2 win over Jack Shack, Dylan went 4-for-5 with a single, two doubles, a home run, three runs scored, and an RBI.

In an 8-4 win over the Guac Boys, Dylan went 3-for-4 with a triple, two homers, three runs scored, and three RBI.

In total, Dylan went 7-for-9 with a single, six extra-base hits including two doubles, a triple, and three home runs, six runs scored, and four RBI in week 7.

This is the second time Dylan has earned Wiffler of the Week honors during his wiffle career, including week 4 of the 2019 season.

Adam of Jack Shack Named Pabst Blue Ribbon Wiffler of the Week

8 Aug

After five weeks of domination to start the first half of the season, in which five of Shady Characters’ six regular players won Wiffler of the Week to start the year, Adam became the first player not wearing a Shady Characters uniform to win Wiffler of the Week in 2022 after a big showing in week 6. He helped Jack Shack continue their climb out of the bottom of the standings, as his team earned a split in their week 6 games.

In a 5-3 win over Cheap Goats, Adam went 2-for-5 with a triple, a home run, two runs scored, and an RBI. His home run led off the game for Jack Shack, the seventh leadoff homer of Adam’s wiffle career.

In an 8-5 loss to the Guac Boys, Adam went 3-for-4 with a triple, two homers, three runs scored, and three RBI.

In total, Adam went 5-for-9 with five extra-base hits, including two triples, three homers (one of which was a leadoff home run), five runs scored, and four RBI.

Surprisingly, this is the first time Adam has been named Wiffler of the Week in his wiffle career.
