Joey went 4-for-5 with two doubles, two home runs, three runs scored, and five RBI as Cheap Goats snapped a three-game losing streak with a 10-7 win over Guac Boys

Joey went 4-for-5 with two doubles, two home runs, three runs scored, and five RBI as Cheap Goats held off a late Guac Boys rally to win 10-7, snapping a three-game losing streak. Courtlen, Dinger, and Kevin had three hits each, and Christian pitched the complete game win. Tone went 4-for-5 in the loss, and Guac Boys dropped their first-place lead to only a half-game over Shady Characters.

Christian started for Cheap Goats, and after allowing a one-out double to Tone, he retired Bohn to strand the runner, ending the inning.

Bohn took the mound for Guac Boys, and he fell behind early. After allowing a leadoff double to Joey, Courtlen hit a two-run homer, making the score 2-0. Bohn struck out Christian and retired Dinger to end the inning, and Cheap Goats led by two runs.

Christian fanned Form and retired Brum in the top of the second, maintaining the two-run lead.

Kevin doubled to start the bottom of the second, and Joey followed with an RBI double, pushing the Cheap Goats lead to 3-0. Bohn retired Courtlen and Christian to strand Joey at second, ending the inning, and Guac Boys trailed by three runs.

Tone hit a one-out single in the top of the third, but Christian once again stranded him, retiring Bohn to end the inning.

Dinger singled to lead off the bottom of the third, and two batters later, Joey hit a one-out two-run homer, extending the Cheap Goats lead to 5-0. Bohn retired Courtlen to end the inning, and Cheap Goats were ahead by five runs.

Guac Boys finally got on the board in the top of the fourth, pulling even with Cheap Goats. Form tripled, and Brum followed with a two-run homer, making the score 5-2. Jan doubled, and he scored from second when Tone hit an RBI single, cutting the deficit to 5-3. Bohn followed with a two-run bomb that tied the game at 5-5. Christian retired Form and Brum to end the inning, but Guac Boys had scored five runs in the fourth to draw even with Cheap Goats.

Cheap Goats immediately responded in the bottom of the fourth. Bohn retired Christian, but Dinger followed with a one-out triple. Kevin singled, scoring Dinger, and Cheap Goats were back on top 6-5. Joey followed with his second two-run homer of the game, and Cheap Goats led 8-5. Courtlen doubled, but Bohn retired Christian to strand the runner at second, ending the inning, and Guac Boys trailed by three.

Jan led off the top of the fifth with a triple, and Tone followed with a two-run blast, cutting the Cheap Goats lead to 8-7. Christian retired Bohn and Form to end the inning, and Cheap Goats led by a run.

Cheap Goats added a few insurance runs in the bottom of the fifth. Bohn had reached his innings limit for the week, and Guac Boys brought Jan to the mound. He allowed a single to Dinger, and Kevin followed with a double, putting two runners in scoring position with no outs. Jan struck out Joey for the first out of the inning, but Courtlen followed with an RBI single that cleared the bases, scoring two runs to put Cheap Goats ahead 10-7. Jan retired Christian to strand Courtlen at first, ending the inning, and Guac Boys would need three runs in the sixth to extend the game.

Christian remained on the mound for Cheap Goats, and he made quick work of Guac Boys in the top of the sixth. He retired Jan and Tone in order, ending the inning and the game, giving Cheap Goat a 10-7 victory.

The win moved Cheap Goats to 4-8 on the season, and the loss dropped Guac Boys to 8-4.

Thomas Leads Shady Characters with Six Extra-Base Hits in 16-6 Rout of Guac Boys

Thomas went 6-for-7 with three doubles, three homers, six runs scored, and six RBI as Shady Characters started the second half of the season with a 16-6 win over Guac Boys

Thomas continued his scorching hot rookie season going 6-for-7 with three doubles, three homers, six runs scored, and six RBI as Shady Characters beat Guac Boys 16-6. Tom had five hits and pitched a complete game win, and Nate and Lucas each contributed four hits as Shady Characters turned in a total team effort to start the second half of the 2024 season, pulling within a game of Guac Boys for first place in the season standings.

Tom started for Shady Characters and he allowed a leadoff double to Jan to start the game. Tone followed with a two-run homer, and Guac Boys immediately led 2-0. Tom retired Bohn and Form to end the inning, and Shady Characters trailed by two runs early.

Shady Characters responded in the bottom of the first. Tom singled, and he moved from first to third when Nate followed with a double. With no outs and two on, Thomas cleared the bases, and his three-run homer put Shady Characters in front 3-2. Two batters later Tom hit a one-out single, but Guac Boys starter, Bohn, retired Nate to strand the runner, ending the inning.

Shady Characters continued to extend their lead in the bottom of the third. Thomas led off with his second homer of the game, a solo shot that made the score 6-2. Two batters later Tom tripled, and Nate drove him in with an RBI single that put Shady Characters in front 7-2. Thomas then homered for the second time in the inning and third time in the game, and his two-run shot gave Shady Characters a 9-2 lead. Bohn retired Lucas to end the inning, and Shady Characters had opened up a seven run lead.

Guac Boys turned to their bullpen in the bottom of the fourth, bringing Jan to the mound. The first batter he faced, Tom, hit a double, and he moved to third when Nate singled. Two batters later, with runners on the corners and one out, Lucas singled, scoring both runners and extending the Shady Characters lead to 11-4. Jan retired Tom to strand Lucas at first, and Guac Boys were down seven runs.

Tom rolled through the top of the fifth, retiring Jan and striking out Tone.

Shady Characters put the game out of reach in the bottom of the fifth. Nate led off the inning with a solo homer, and Guac Boys trailed 12-4. Thomas doubled, and Lucas followed with his second two-run homer of the game, making the score 14-4. Tom singled, and after Jan struck out Nate, Thomas doubled, putting runners on second and third with one out. Lucas doubled, clearing the bases and making the score 16-4, but Lucas was caught out trying to extend the hit to a triple, ending the inning.

Guac Boys were down twelve runs heading into the sixth. Bohn singled to start the inning, and Form followed with a two-run homer that cut the score to 16-6. Brum singled, but the rally would end there. Tom retired Jan and Tone to end the inning, giving Shady Characters a 16-6 win.

Guac Boys erupted for nine runs in the bottom of the fifth, capped by Jude’s two-run homer, coming from behind to beat Jack Shack 11-6

Guac Boys trailed 6-2 heading into the bottom of the fifth inning before stringing together nine consecutive hits, with all nine runners scoring, and took an 11-6 lead that they held onto, defeating Jack Shack and finishing the first half of the season with an 8-2 record. Jan and Bohn each went 3-for-4 and combined on the mound to earn the win, as the 2023 runners-up finished the first half of the season atop the league standings.

Bohn started for Guac Boys, and after retiring Josh to start the game, he allowed a solo homer to Jon M, giving Jack Shack a 1-0 lead. Bohn then retired Jon D to end the inning.

Jon M took the mound for Jack Shack, and after retiring Alec to start the bottom of the first, he allowed Jan to double. Bohn then singled, scoring Jan, tying the game at 1-1. Jon M then retired Jude to strand Bohn at first, ending the inning.

Jack Shack reclaimed the lead in the top of the second. Jacob led off the inning with a double, and he moved to third when Josh followed with a double. With no outs and two runners in scoring position, Jon M cleared the bases with a three-run bomb, putting Jack Shack ahead 4-1. Bohn retired the next two batters to end the inning, and he had reached his innings limit for week 5.

Guac Boys trailed 3-0 in the second inning before scoring ten unanswered runs across the game’s final five innings to beat Cheap Goats 10-3. Bohn was in control on the mound and went 3-for-4 at the plate, Alec also went 3-for-4, and Jan and Tone both homered as Guac Boys maintained their lead atop the EWL season standings.

Bohn fell behind early in the top of the first. Joey led off the game with a double, and he scored when Christian followed with an RBI single, giving Cheap Goats a 1-0 lead. Dinger then singled, putting runners on first and second with no outs. Kevin singled, loading the bases for Joey. Joey then singled, scoring Christian, and the lead was 2-0. Christian singled, scoring Dinger, but Kevin was caught out on the play, ending the inning, and Guac Boys trailed 3-0.

Christian started for Cheap Goats and he rolled through the bottom of the first, retiring Alec and Jan in order.

After a difficult first inning, Bohn was in command starting with the top of the second. He retired Dinger and Kevin consecutively, and the score remained 3-0.

Bohn of Guac Boys Named Pabst Blue Ribbon Wiffler of the Week

Bohn contributed on the mound and at the plate in week 4, helping Guac Boys win their fifth consecutive game and extending their first place lead in the 2024 standings en route to being voted Wiffler of the Week for week 4 of the 2024 EWL season.

In a 9-8 win over Shady Characters that extended Guac Boys hold on first place in the season standings, Bohn went 4-for-5 with two singles, a double, a home run, two runs scored, and two RBI.

In a 9-7 loss to Jack Shack, he went 3-for-4 with two singles, a double, a run scored, and an RBI.

In total, Bohn went 7-for-9 with four singles, two doubles, a home run, three runs scored, and three RBI.

This is the first time that Bohn has been voted Wiffler of the Week in his wiffle career.
