Kyle started his EWL career with a home run, he hit .500 for the week, and he was voted Pabst Blue Ribbon Wiffler of the Week for week 1.
In his first week as a wiffler, Kyle of Guacamol-yay was voted Pabst Blue Ribbon Wiffler of the Week for week 1 of the 2021 season.
His team, Guacamol-yay, went 0-2, but Kyle made his presence felt. He homered in his first career at-bat, and he finished the week going 4-for-8 with a single, two doubles, a home run, two runs scored, an RBI.
This is Kyle’s first time winning PBR Wiffler of the Week.
Christian pitched all eight innings of Cheap Goats 3-2 extra-innings win over Guacamol-yay, allowing only two runs and striking out three.
Seven innings into their week 1 matchup, Cheap Goats and Guacamol-yay were tied at 2-2 as darkness settled into the Wiffle Diamond. The game was resumed in the 8th inning one week later, and after Christian stranded a Guacamol-yay runner in scoring position in the top of the 8th, Cheap Goats strung together three consecutive hits in the bottom half of the inning, winning the game 3-2 with Joey’s walk-off double.
Christian took the mound for Cheap Goats, and after allowing a one-out triple to Josh K in the top of the 1st, he retired Kyle to strand the runner at third, ending the inning.
Guacamol-yay’s ace, Josh K, started for the second consecutive game, and he retired Cheap Goats in order in the bottom of the first.

Jude doubled with one out in the top of the second, but Christian stranded another Guacamol-yay runner in scoring position, retiring Jan to end the inning.
Josh K continued to roll in the bottom of the second, sending Miller and Christian down consecutively.
Christian allowed a one-out double to Kyle in the top of the third, but once again stranded the runner, getting Ryan to ground out to center, ending the inning with the game scoreless.
Josh K retired Dinger and Brett in the bottom of the third, and he was perfect through three innings.
Guacamol-yay got on the board in the top of the fourth when Jan hit an inside-the-park homer with one out. Christian then retired Josh K to end the inning.
Cheap Goats immediately evened things up in the bottom of the fourth. Joey led off the inning with a triple, Cheap Goats first hit of the game. Miller followed with an RBI double, scoring Joey to tie the score at 1-1. The go-ahead run was in scoring position, but Josh K retired Christian and Dinger, stranding the runner at second and ending the inning.

Guacamol-yay bounced back in the top of the fifth. Kyle led off the inning with his second double of the game, and two batters later, Jude hit an RBI single to score him, putting Guacamol-yay ahead 2-1. Christian retired Jan to strand Jude at first, and Guacamol-yay had a one-run lead.
Guacamol-yay turned to their bullpen in the top of the fifth, bringing Ryan to the mound. He retired Brett and Joey in order.
Christian fanned Josh K to start the top of the sixth, and after allowing a one-out single to Kyle, he retired Ryan to end the inning.

Cheap Goats trailed 2-1 heading into their final at-bat. Miller led off the bottom of the sixth with a triple, putting the tying run in scoring position. Christian followed with an RBI single, scoring Miller to tie the game at 2-2. The winning run was on base, but Ryan escaped the jam. He retired Dinger and Brett, stranding the runner at first and sending the game to extra innings.
Christian remained on the mound in the seventh. He got Jude to ground out to center and then struck out Jan to end the inning.
Joey doubled to lead off the bottom of the seventh, putting the winning run in scoring position. Once again, Ryan escaped unscathed. He retired Miller and Christian to end the inning, sending the game to the eighth inning.
At this point, the game was suspended due to darkness, and would be resumed the following week.

The game was resumed one week later under ideal sunshine conditions at the Wiffle Diamond.
With one inning of eligibility left, Christian remained on the mound. Josh K led off the top of the 8th with a double, putting the go-ahead run on second. Christian buckled down, however, getting Kyle to fly out to the mound and then striking out Ryan to strand the runner, ending the inning.
Guacamol-yay turned to Jude, who relieved Ryan after the one week break. The first batter he faced, Dinger, singled. Brett followed with a single, putting runners on first and second with no outs. Joey followed with an RBI double, scoring Dinger to end the game, giving Cheap Goats the 3-2 win.

Trailing 2-1 heading into their last at-bat, Shady Characters evened the game at 2-2 in the top of sixth. They later pulled ahead 4-2 in the top of the seventh, beating Jack Shack to start the season undefeated at 2-0.
Dustin took the mound for Jack Shack, and after allowing a one-out double to Mike, he retired Tom to strand the runner, ending the inning.
Tom started once again for Shady Characters. He allowed singles to Adam and Turbo to start the inning, putting runners on first and third with no outs. Dustin grounded out to left, and although Turbo advanced to second, Adam couldn’t score. With one outs and two runners in scoring position, Tom got Brian to ground out to center, stranding both runners and ending the inning.
Dustin rolled through the top of the second, retiring Lucas and striking out Jason.
Jack Shack took their first lead in the bottom of the second. Josh D doubled for his first hit of the 2021 season, and he scored from second when Adam grounded out to left. Turbo followed with a double, but Tom avoided further damage, retiring Dustin to strand the runner, and Jack Shack led 1-0.
Shady Characters evened the score in the top of the third. Mike singled with one out, and he scored from first when Tom followed with an RBI double. Dustin retired Lucas to strand Tom, ending the inning, and the game was tied at 1-1.
Tom K had met his innings limit for the week, so Shady Characters put Lucas on the mound in the bottom of the third. He allowed a single the the first batter he faced, Brian. However, Jack Shack continued to leave runners on base. Lucas retired Josh D and Adam, stranding Brian, and the game remained tied.

Jason doubled to start the top of the fourth, but Shady Characters couldn’t take the lead. Dustin retired Dylan and Mike to strand Jason, ending the inning.
Jack Shack would pull ahead again in the bottom of the fourth when Turbo led off the inning with a laser solo homer to right field, making the score 2-1. Dustin followed with a single, but Lucas retired Brian and struck out Josh D to strand Dustin, ending the inning.
Dustin cruised through the top of the fifth, sending Tom and Lucas down in order.
Adam tripled to start the bottom of the fifth, but Jack Shack couldn’t plate an insurance run. Lucas got Turbo and Dustin to both fly out to the mound, stranding Adam at second, and Shady Characters continued to trail 2-1.
With their backs against the wall, Shady Characters rallied in the top of the sixth. Jason started the inning with a triple, putting the tying run on third. Dustin retired Dylan for the first out of the inning, and Jason could not score on the play. Down to their final out, Mike saved the day, hitting an RBI double to score Jason, tying the game at 2-2. The winning run was now in scoring position, but Dustin escaped, retiring Tom to strand the runner, ending the inning.
Brian singled to start the bottom of the sixth, putting the winning run on base. Josh D followed with a single, but Brian was forced out on the play. Lucas then retired Adam, stranding Josh D at first, and sending the game to extra innings.

Shady Characters wasted no time in the top of the seventh. Lucas started with a double, putting the go-ahead run in scoring position. Two batters later, Dylan hit an inside-the-park two-run homer, putting Shady Characters in front 4-2. Dustin then retired Mike to end the inning, and Jack Shack trailed by two runs heading into the bottom of the seventh.
Lucas allowed a leadoff double to Turbo, putting the tying run at the plate. Jack Shack couldn’t string together hits, however, and continued to leave runners stranded. Lucas retired Dustin and Brian, stranding Turbo at second, and ending the game as Shady Characters won 4-2.
The win moved Shady Characters to 2-0 on the season, and Jack Shack dropped to 0-2.

After trailing 3-1 at the midpoint of their season opener, Shady Characters rallied in the fourth and fifth innings, pulling ahead 4-3 and hanging on to win. Led by Tom who went 3-for-4 and pitched the complete game win, Shady Characters, who finished fourth in 2020, started the 2021 season strong.

Shady Characters got on the board early in the bottom of the first. Dylan led off with a double, and two batters later, Tom hit an RBI single to score him. Josh K, Guacamol-yay’s starter, struck out Lucas to end the inning with the score 1-0.
Guacamol-yay evened things up in the top of the second when their newest free agent signing, Kyle, hit a solo shot in the first at-bat of his wiffle career. Ryan followed with a single, but Tom escaped without further damage, retiring Jude and Jan to strand the runner.

With the game tied at 1-1, Josh K got into a groove. He retired Jason, making his EWL debut, and then struck out Dylan to end the inning.
Tom matched Josh K in the top of the third, retiring Josh K before striking out Kyle to end the inning, and the score remained tied.
Tom singled with one out in the bottom of the third, but Josh K stranded him, retiring Lucas to end the inning.

Guacamol-yay would pull ahead for their first lead in the top of the fourth. Ryan doubled to start the inning, and two batters later, Jan hit a one-out triple, scoring Ryan to put Guacamol-yay ahead 2-1. Josh K then singled, scoring Jan, and Gucamol-yay led 3-1. Tom finally escaped the inning, retiring Kyle for the second out.
Shady Characters bounced right back in the bottom of the fourth. Jason got his first career hit, a triple, to lead off the inning. Dylan drove him in with an RBI double, making the score 3-2. Mike hit a sacrifice fly, moving Dylan to third, and Tom hit an RBI double to score Dylan, tying the game at 3-3. Josh K then retired Lucas to end the inning.

Kyle then retired Tom to end the inning, and Guacamol-yay trailed by one run.

Led by Miller and Joey, who combined for five extra-base hits, and riding EWL veteran Dinger’s complete game effort on the mound, Cheap Goats beat Jack Shack 4-1 in the first game of the 2021 EWL regular season.
Brian took the mound for the two-time defending champions, and he retired 2020 co-MVP Brett for the first out of the inning. The other 2020 co-MVP, Joey, followed with a double, and in his first at-bat with Cheap Goats, Miller hit a two-run homer to right-center. Christian followed with a triple, and Dinger drove him in with an RBI single that put Cheap Goats ahead 3-0. Brian then retired Brett to end the inning.

Brian fared better in the top of the second. After allowing a one-out double to Miller, he retired Christian to strand the runner at second, ending the inning.
Dinger cruised through the bottom of the second, retiring Brian and fanning Josh, who had returned to the diamond after missing the 2020 season.

Joey led off the top of the fourth with a triple, and he scored when Miller grounded out for the first out of the inning. Brian then retired Christian to end the inning, and Cheap Goats had extended their lead to 4-0.
Dinger retired the side in order in the bottom of the fourth, and he had allowed only two base runners through the first four innings.
Brian sent Dinger and Brett down in order in the top of the fifth, and he finally got some run support from his offense in the bottom half of the inning.

Adam led off the bottom of the fifth with a double, and he scored from second when Turbo grounded out to left for the first out of the inning. Jack Shack couldn’t rally, however, as Dinger retired Dustin to end the inning, and the score was 4-1.

Brian started the bottom of the sixth with a double, but the Jack Shack comeback effort ended there. Dinger retired Josh and Adam to strand the runner, ending the inning and the game, giving Cheap Goats a 4-1 victory.
