Kyle’s Solo Homer in Seventh Inning Pushes Guacamol-yay to 3-2 Win Over Jack Shack

With the game tied at 2-2 in the top of the seventh inning, Kyle led off the extra innings with a solo homer, putting Guacamol-yay ahead 3-2. They shutdown Jack Shack in the bottom of the seventh, hanging on to win, notching their fifth straight victory.

Brian took the mound for Jack Shack, and after allowing a one-out double to Jude in the top of the first, he retired Alec, stranding Jude at second and ending the inning.

Ryan started for Guacamol-yay, and he retired the side in order in the bottom of the first, sending Adam and Brian down consecutively.

Guacamol-yay got on the board in the top of the second when Ryan led off the inning with a solo homer. Brian later allowed a one-out double to Jan, but escaped further damage, retiring Jude to strand Jan at second.

Jack Shack responded and took the lead in the bottom of the second. With one out, Josh D doubled, and the next batter, Adam, hit a two-run homer, putting Jack Shack in front 2-1. Ryan then retired Brian to end the inning.

Ryan singled with one out in the top of the third, but Brian stranded him, retiring Kyle to end the inning.

Josh D doubled with one out in the bottom of the third, but Jack Shack couldn’t extend their lead, as Ryan retired Adam to strand the runner, ending the inning.

Jude singled with one out in the top of the fourth, but Brian stranded another Guacamol-yay runner, retiring Alec to end the inning.

Brian led off the bottom of the fourth with a single, but when Dustin followed with a single, Brian was caught in between bases for the first out of the inning. Ryan then retired Josh D to strand Dustin at first, ending the inning with the score remaining 2-1.

Kyle singled with one out in the top of the fifth, but once again, Brian stranded a Guacamol-yay runner. He retired Jan, stranding Kyle at first, and Jack Shack continued to lead 2-1.

Ryan rolled through the bottom of the fifth, retiring Adam and Brian in order.

Down a run in their final at-bat, Guacamol-yay rallied in the top of the sixth. Jude led off with a triple, putting the tying run in scoring position with no outs. Brian got the next batter, Alec, to ground out for the first out of the inning, but Jude scored on the play, tying the game at 2-2. Brian then retired Ryan to end the inning.

Guacamol-yay made an interesting strategic decision to start the bottom of the sixth, intentionally walking Dustin, putting the winning run on base with no outs. The move paid off, as Ryan retired Adam and Josh D, stranding Dustin at first, sending the game to extra innings.

Kyle led off the top of the seventh, and he hit a solo homer, putting Guacamol-yay ahead 3-2. Two batters later, Jude hit a single, and Alec followed with a single, putting two runners on with one out. It looked as if Guacamol-yay would blow the game open, but Brian escaped further damage, retiring Ryan to strand both runners, and the score was 3-2.

Ryan stayed on the mound to close things out in the bottom of the seventh, and he made quick work of Jack Shack. He retired Brian and Dustin in order, ending the game, giving Guacamol-yay the 3-2 extra-innings win.

The win moved Guacamol-yay to 5-8 on the season, and the loss dropped Jack Shack to 5-8.
