Bohn’s Two-Run Walkoff Homer Caps Rain-Delayed 11-9 Guac Boys Win Over Cheap Goats

Bohn had the best game of his wiffle career, going 5-for-7 with two singles, a double, two homers, three runs scored, six RBI, and the walkoff two-run homer that gave the Guac Boys a dramatic week 3 victory over Cheap Goats

After the week 3 game between Cheap Goats and the Guac Boys was interrupted by a rain storm, a week later, both teams came out firing. The squads went back-and-forth until Bohn ended the game with a two-run walkoff homer in the bottom of the sixth, giving the Guac Boys a 11-9 win. Bohn led the Guac Boys going 5-for-7 with two singles, a double, two homers, three runs scored and five RBI. Miller hit for the cycle and Joey went 4-for-5 with two doubles and two homers in the loss, and the Guac Boys established firm control of second place in the standings.

Kyle took the mound for the Guac Boys, and after allowing a leadoff double to Miller, he retired Joe. Joey followed with an RBI double, scoring Miller, but he was caught out trying to extend the hit into a triple, ending the inning.

Joey went 4-for-5 with two doubles, two homers, two runs scored, and six RBI in the Cheap Goats loss.

Down 1-0, the Guac Boys pulled even in the bottom of the first. With one out, Bohn hit a solo homer to center, tying the game at 1-1. Cheap Goats’ starter, Christian, allowed a one-out single to Kyle before striking out Anthony to end the inning.

Kyle cruised through the top of the second, retiring Christian and Dinger in order.

The Guac Boys pulled ahead in the bottom of the second. Brum led off the inning with a triple, and he scored from third when Bohn grounded out for the first out of the inning, making the score 2-1. Kyle then hit a solo homer, putting the Guac Boys in front 3-1. Anthony singled, and he moved from first to third when Brum followed with a single. Bohn then singled, scoring Anthony to extend the lead to 4-1. Kyle then hit Guac Boys’ fourth consecutive single, putting them ahead 5-1. Christian retired Anthony to end the inning, stranding two runners, and the Guac Boys led by four runs.

Joe singled with one out in the top of the third, but Kyle retired Joey to strand him, ending the inning.

At this point the rain became too heavy, and week 3 action was postponed for a week.

Play resumed a week later with action picking up in the bottom of the third. Jan led off with a single and moved from first to third when Bohn followed with a single, putting runners on the corner. Kyle hit a sac fly to center, scoring Jan to put the Guac Boys ahead 6-1. Christian then retired Jude to strand Bohn, ending the inning with the Guac Boys leading by five.

Christian singled to start the top of the fourth, and two batters later, Miller hit an RBI triple to score him, cutting the score to 6-2. Kyle then retired Joe to strand Miller at third, ending the inning.

Christian rolled through the bottom of the fourth, retiring Jan and Bohn in order.

Cheap Goats bounced back in the top of the fifth. Joey led off the inning with a solo homer, cutting the score to 6-3. Christian singled, and he moved from first to third when Dinger followed with a double. Miller singled, scoring Christian, and Cheap Goats trailed 6-4. Two batters later, Joey hit a one-out RBI double, clearing the bases to score Miller and Dinger, tying the game at 6-6. Kyle then retired Christian to strand Joey at second, ending the inning.

The Guac Boys responded in the bottom of the fifth. Kyle led off with a double, and he moved to third when Jude singled, putting runners on the corners with no outs. Jan hit a sacrifice fly to center, scoring Kyle to give the Guac Boys a 7-6 lead. Bohn then doubled, scoring Jude, and the Guac Boys were in front 8-6. Kyle also doubled, scoring Bohn, and the lead was 9-6. Christian retired Jude for the second out of the inning, and Cheap Goats trailed by three runs.

Down to their last at-bat, Cheap Goats rallied in the top of the sixth. Kyle retired the first batter he faced, Dinger, but allowed a one-out solo homer to Miller, which cut the score to 9-7. The homer gave Miller the cycle for the first time in his wiffle career. Joe then doubled, and Joey tied the game with a two-run homer to left-center. Kyle retired Christian to end the inning, but the Cheap Goats had tied the game with a three-run rally in the top of the sixth.

The Guac Boys didn’t wait long to crush Cheap Goats’ spirits. Jan led off the bottom of the sixth with a single, and Bohn ended the game with a two-run walkoff homer to right-center. The walkoff blast gave the Guac Boys an 11-9 win as they took control of second place in the EWL standings.

The win moved the Guac Boys to 3-2 on the season, and the loss dropped Cheap Goats to 1-4.
