Guac Boys Demolish Cheap Goats 11-3 Behind Offensive Explosion from Jan, Bohn, and Kyle

Jan had five hits, including two singles, a double, and a homer, hitting for the cycle, and he also pitched the complete game win, as the Guac Boys crushed Cheap Goats 11-3.

Jan went 5-for-7, hitting for the cycle for the first time in his wiffle career, and his teammates Bohn and Kyle each had four extra-base hits as the Guac Boys routed Cheap Goats 11-3. Jan pitched the complete game win and Bohn drove in five of the eleven runs as the Guac Boys pulled away and never looked back.

Jan took the mound for the Guac Boys, and he retired Cheap Goats in order in the top of the first, sending Miller and Joe down consecutively.

He got run support in the bottom of the first, starting when he led off the inning with a single. Bohn followed with an RBI double to score him, and Guac Boys led 1-0. Cheap Goats starter, Christian, retired the next two batters, stranding Bohn at second to end the inning.

Cheap Goats pulled ahead in the top of the second. Joey led off the inning with a solo homer, tying the score at 1-1. Two batters later, Dinger hit a one-out double, and Miller drove him in with a two-run shot to center. Jan retired Joe to end the inning, and Cheap Goats led 3-1.

The lead wouldn’t last long, as the Guac Boys bounced back in the bottom of the second. Jan led off with a triple, and Bohn drove him in with an RBI double, cutting the deficit to 3-2. Kyle then tripled, scoring Bohn, and the game was tied at 3-3. Jude followed with a deep fly to center, which was caught for an out, but Kyle tagged and scored on the play to put the Guac Boys ahead 4-3. Jan then went deep, and his solo shot extended the lead to 5-3. Christian finally escaped the inning, retiring Bohn for the second out.

Kyle had four extra-base hits, going 4-for-6 with two doubles, two triples, three runs scored, and two RBI, in the Guac Boys win.

Christian singled with one out in the top of the third, but Jan stranded him, retiring Dinger to end the inning.

Kyle tripled to start the bottom of the third, and two batters later, Jan hit an RBI single to score him, pushing the score to 6-3. Christian then retired Bohn to end the inning.

Jan cruised through top of the fourth, sending Miller and Joe down in order.

Kyle doubled to lead off the bottom of the fourth, and two batters later, Jan hit a one-out RBI double, scoring Kyle and pushing the Guac Boys lead to 7-3. The double gave Jan the cycle, the first of his wiffle career. Bohn followed with a two-run bomb to right-center, and Guac Boys led 9-3. Cheap Goats turned to the bullpen, removing Christian and bringing Dinger to the mound. He retired Kyle, the first batter he faced, to end the inning.

Jan continued to roll in the top of the fifth, retiring Joey and Christian consecutively, and the Guac Boys continued to lead by six.

Jude led off the bottom of the fifth with a double, and two batters later, Bohn hit an RBI double to score him. Kyle then doubled, scoring Bohn, and the Guac Boys were in front 11-3. Jude singled to put runners on the corners with no outs, but Dinger avoided further damage, retiring Jan to strand both runners, ending the inning.

Miller doubled with one out in the top of the sixth, but Jan shut it down. He retired Joe to strand Miller at second, ending the inning and the game as the Guac Boys won 11-3.

The win moved the Guac Boys to 4-3 on the season, and the loss dropped Cheap Goats to 1-6.

Lucas and Tom Dominant as Shady Characters Stomp Jack Shack 15-3

Lucas hit for the cycle for the first time in his career, collecting a single, double, triple, and home run in order.

Lucas went 4-for-6, completing the cycle with a two-run homer in the fifth inning as Shady Characters stormed past Jack Shack 15-3, remaining undefeated. Dylan had four extra-base hits, Jason went deep twice, and Tom went a perfect 6-for-6 as Shady Characters continued their scorched Earth tour of the Ellsworth Wiffleball League. Tom pitched the complete game win, allowing three runs on five hits with a strikeout, and the defending champs continued to dominate their opponents in 2022.

Sean took the mound for Jack Shack, and he fell behind early. Dylan led off the game with a triple, and Jason drove him in with an RBI double, making the score 1-0. Tom then doubled to score Jason, increasing the lead to 2-0. Lucas singled, scoring Tom from first, and Shady Characters led 3-0. Two batters later, Dylan hit a one-out double, scoring Lucas, and Jack Shack trailed 4-0. Sean finally retired Jason to end the inning.

Tom struck out Adam to start the bottom of the first, and then retired Rob to end the inning.

Tom, delivering a pitch to Adam of Jack Shack, went the distance, earning his seventh win of the season.

Tom singled to lead off the top of the second, but Sean stranded him, retiring Lucas and Nate, and the score remained 4-0.

Tom rolled through the bottom of the second, sending Josh and Austin down in order.

Dylan led off the top of the third with a double, but he was caught out trying to tag up when Jason popped out for the first out of the inning. The double play ended the inning.

Brian doubled with one out in the bottom of the third, Jack Shack’s first hit of the game, but Tom stranded him, retiring Jared to end the inning.

Shady Characters doubled their lead in the top of the fourth. Tom singled, and he moved from first to third when Lucas followed with a double. Nate grounded out for the first out of the inning, but Tom scored on the play, putting Shady Characters in front 5-0. Dylan then tripled for the second time in the game, scoring Lucas to give Shady Characters a six run lead. Jason cleared the bases with a two-run blast, and the score was 8-0. Sean finally escaped the inning when Tom hit a one-out single but was caught out trying to advance the hit to a double.

Jason had a double, two homers, and drove in five of Shady Characters runs in the win over Jack Shack.

Rob doubled with one out in the bottom of the fourth, but Jack Shack couldn’t plate a run. Tom retired Josh to strand Rob at second, ending the inning.

Shady Characters blew the game up in the top of the fifth. Lucas led off with a triple, and Nate drove him in with an RBI single that made the score 9-0. Dylan then singled, putting runners on first and second. Two batters later, Jason cleared the bases with an RBI single that scored two runs, and Shady Characters led 11-0. Lucas, who had singled, doubled, and tripled across the first four innings, hit a two-run bomb to right-center, putting Shady Characters ahead 13-0 and giving him his first career cycle. Sean finally escaped the inning, retiring Nate for the second out.

Jack Shack got on the board in the bottom of the fifth when Austin led off the inning with a solo homer to right-center. Tom retired Sean and Brian to end the inning, and the score was 13-1.

Shady Characters added a few more runs in the top of the sixth. Jason hit a solo homer with one out, his second bomb of the game, and the score was 14-1. Tom followed with a solo shot, and the back-to-back homers put Shady Characters ahead 15-1. Sean then retired Lucas to end the inning.

Tom went 6-for-6 with four singles, a double, a homer, four runs, and five RBI as Shady Characters continued their offensive bombardment in 2022.

Jared led off the bottom of the sixth with a single, and two batters later, Rob hit a single to put runners on the corners. Josh hit a one-out triple, emptying the bases and making the score 15-3. The rally would end there, however, as Tom retired Austin for the second out of the inning, ending the game and giving Shady Characters at 15-3 win.

The win moved Shady Characters to 7-0 in the season, and Jack Shack dropped to 2-5.

Tom of Shady Characters Named Pabst Blue Ribbon Wiffler of the Week

After a dominant week on the Wiffle Diamond, Tom became the third consecutive Shady Characters player to win Wiffler of the Week to start the 2022 season. His performance helped the defending champions win their fifth and sixth consecutive games and moved them into a commanding lead in the season standings.

In a 10-7 extra-innings win over Jack Shack, Tom went 3-for-4 with two singles, a homer, a run scored, and two RBI.

In an 18-6 rout of the Guac Boys, he went 4-for-6 with a single, a double, two home runs, three runs scored, and seven RBI.

In total, Tom went 7-for-10 in week 3 with three singles, a double, three home runs, four runs scored, and nine RBI. He also earned the pitching win in both games.

This is the second time Tom has been voted PBR Wiffler of the Week. He also received the honors during week 1 of the 2021 playoffs during Shady Characters’ championship run.

Austin’s Walk-Off Two-Run Homer Sinks Cheap Goats in Dramatic 8-7 Jack Shack Win

Austin’s two-run walk-off homer capped a dramatic 8-7 win for Jack Shack

In one of the best games of the 2022 season, Jack Shack and Cheap Goats went blow for blow until Austin sealed a Jack Shack win with a two-run walk-off homer in the bottom of the sixth inning. After pulling ahead 7-5 in the top of the sixth, Cheap Goats allowed three runs in the bottom of the sixth, squandering their lead and dropped into sole possession of last place in the 2022 standings. Rob and Josh each had three hits and Austin went deep twice, as Jack Shack were the last squad standing in a game with stranded runners, controversial calls, intentional walks, and a lot of action.

Brian took the mound for Jack Shack, and he allowed a leadoff triple to Miller. Joe followed with an RBI single, making the score 1-0. Brian retired the next two batters to end the inning.

Jack Shack evened things up in the bottom of the first. Dinger, Cheap Goats’ starter, retired Adam to start the game, but Rob followed with a solo homer, tying the score at 1-1. Brian hit a one-out double, but Dinger stranded him, retiring Austin to end the inning.

Cheap Goats pulled back ahead in the top of the second. After retiring Dinger to start the inning, Brian allowed a solo homer to Miller, making the score 2-1. Joe followed with a triple, but Brian retired Joey to strand him at third, ending the inning.

Brian led off the bottom of the second with a double. When Jared followed with a single, Brian was caught out trying to score from second for the first out of the inning. Dinger then got Sean to fly out to center, stranding Jared at first and ending the inning.

Jack Shack turned to Josh from the bullpen, and he rolled through the top of the third, retiring Christian and striking out Dinger.

Jack Shack once again evened things up in the bottom of the third. Rob doubled with one out, and Josh followed with an RBI double, tying the game at 2-2. Dinger then retired Austin to strand Josh at second, ending the inning.

Cheap Goats pulled ahead once more in the top of the fourth. Joe doubled with one out, and Joey followed with a two-run homer, putting Cheap Goats ahead 4-2. Christian followed with a double, but Josh got Dinger to ground out to center, stranding Christian and ending the inning.

Yet again, Jack Shack counterpunched to tie the game in the bottom of the fourth. Jared singled with one out, and Sean followed with an RBI single, scoring Jared from first to cut the score to 4-3. Adam then doubled, scoring Sean, and the game was tied at 4-4. Rob followed with a single, putting runners on the corners with one out. But Dinger buckled down, retiring Josh to strand both runners, ending the inning with the game tied.

Josh retired Cheap Goats in order in the top of the fifth, sending Miller and Joe down consecutively.

Jack Shack pulled ahead for the first time in the game in the bottom of the fifth when Austin led off the inning with a solo homer. Brian followed with a triple, but Dinger deftly retired Jared and Sean to strand him at third, and Jack Shack led 5-4 heading into the top of the sixth.

Down one, Cheap Goats rallied in the top of the sixth. Christian singled with one out, and he moved to second when Dinger followed with a single. Miller cleared the bases with a two-RBI triple, giving Cheap Goats a 6-5 lead. Joe followed with a double, scoring Miller, and Cheap Goats led 7-5. Jack Shack intentionally walked Joey, the first free pass of 2022, putting runners on first and second. Jack Shack wanted to face Christian, and it paid off. Josh struck him out to strand both runners, and Jack Shack would head into the bottom of the sixth trailing by two.

Dinger remained on the mound to close things out for Cheap Goats, and he got into trouble. The first batter he faced, Adam, hit a double. Two batters later, Josh hit an RBI double, cutting the Cheap Goats lead to 7-6. Cheap Goats needed one out to get the W, but it wasn’t meant to be. The next batter, Austin, crushed a towering two-run blast to right, a walk-off homer that capped an entertaining 8-7 win for Jack Shack.

The win moved Jack Shack to 2-4 on the season, and the loss dropped Cheap Goats to 1-5.

Shady Characters Go Deep Seven Times in 18-6 Blowout Win Over Guac Boys

Tom, who drove in eight runs in the Shady Characters win, congratulates Dylan after his three-run bomb in the first inning.

Dylan and Jason each went deep, Tom drove in eight runs, and Nate had three long bombs as Shady Characters trounced the Guac Boys 18-6 in a game that was never close. Four of the five Shady Characters had four or more hits, the squad tallied nineteen hits as a whole, and Shady Characters continued their undefeated start to the 2022 season in a runaway win over the Guac Boys.

Jude took the mound for the Guac Boys, and he was hit in a big way. After retiring Dylan for the first out of the inning, he gave up seven consecutive hits to Shady Characters in the bottom of the first. Jason singled with one out, and he moved from first to third when Tom followed with a double. Lucas then singled, clearing the bases, and Shady Characters led 2-0. Nate singled to put runners on the corners, and Dylan followed with a three-run bomb to right, making the score 5-0. Jason singled for the second time in the inning, and Tom followed with a two-run shot. Jude finally escaped the inning by getting Lucas to ground out to right, and Shady Characters had taken a seven-run lead before the Guac Boys saw a pitch.

Tom started for Shady Characters, and after retiring Jan for the first out in the bottom of the first, he allowed a solo homer to Bohn. Tom then retired Kyle, and the score was 7-1.

Nate led off the top of the second with a solo homer, extending the Shady Characters lead to 8-1. Jude then retired Dylan and Jason to end the inning.

Nate had the best game of his rookie wiffle season, going 5-for-6 with two singles, three homers, five runs scored, and five RBI in the Shady Characters blowout win.

Jude tripled to start the bottom of the second, and he scored from third when Jan hit a sacrifice fly to right, cutting the deficit to 8-2. Lucas, who had come in to relief Tom to start the inning, struck out Bohn to end the inning.

Lucas doubled, and he moved to third when Nate singled. Two batters later, with one out and runners on the corners, Jason hit an RBI double to score Lucas, and the score was 13-2. Tom then singled, scoring Jason and Nate, and the lead was 15-2. Jude finally retired Lucas for the second out of the inning, and the Guac Boys trailed by thirteen.

Jason went 5-for-6 with three singles, a double, a homer, five runs scored, and two RBI.

Lucas rolled through the bottom of the fourth, retiring Bohn and Kyle consecutively.

Jude matched him in the top of the fifth, sending Nate and Dylan down in order.

The Guac Boys showed some life in the bottom of the fifth. Jude led off the inning with a solo homer, narrowing the score to 15-3. Two batters later, Bohn doubled, and Kyle followed with a two-run homer to right-center, making the score 15-5. Jude then singled, but Lucas ended the rally there, retiring Jan to strand Jude, ending the inning.

Shady Characters made up the runs in the top of the sixth. Jason led off the inning with a solo homer, his fifth hit of the game, and the score was 16-3. Two batters later, Lucas tripled, and Nate followed with a two-run bomb, his third homer of the game. Jude retired Dylan to end the inning, and Shady Characters led 18-6.

Bohn started the bottom of the sixth with a solo homer, his second blast of the game, which cut the score to 18-6. Lucas would end the rally there, however. After allowing a double to Kyle, he got Jude to ground out to right, and Kyle was doubled up on the play, ending the game, and giving Shady Characters an 18-6 win.

The win moved Shady Characters to 6-0 on the season, and the loss dropped the Guac Boys to 3-3.
