Dinger Throws Shutout and Brett Hits Two Homers in 3-0 Cheap Goats Win Over Guacamol-yay

Dinger was in control for six consecutive innings, allowing only one baserunner past first base, en route to a three-hit shutout of Guacamol-yay. Brett went 3-for-4 with a double and two homers, and drove in all three Cheap Goats runs, and Joey went 4-for-4, as Cheap Goats defeated Guacamol-yay 3-0.

Josh K took the mound for Guacamol-yay, and he got out of trouble early. After allowing a leadoff double to Brett, Joey singled, putting runners on first and third with no outs. It looked as if Guacamol-yay would fall behind, but Josh worked his way out of the jam. He retired Miller and Jordan, stranding both runners, and ending the inning.

Dinger retired the side in order in the bottom of the first, sending Jan and Josh K down consecutively.

Christian doubled to start the top of the second, but Josh K stranded another Cheap Goats runner. He retired Dinger and Brett, stranding Christian, and ending the inning as the game remained scoreless.

Dinger rolled through the bottom of the second, retiring Ryan and Kyle.

Joey doubled to start the top of the third, but once again, Cheap Goats couldn’t capitalize. Josh K retired Miller and struck out Jordan, ending the inning.

Sean got Guacamol-yay’s first hit, leading off the bottom of the third with a double. Two batter later, Josh K hit a one-out single to put runners on the corners. Guacamol-yay were in position to take the lead, but Dinger retired Ryan, stranding both runners, and the game was scoreless through three innings.

Josh K continued to pitch effectively in the top of the fourth, retiring Christian and striking out Dinger.

Dinger cruised through the bottom of the fourth, retiring Kyle and Sean in order.

Cheap Goats finally broke the scoreless tie in the top of the fifth. Brett led off the inning with a solo blast to right-center. Joey then singled, and when Miller followed with a double. Josh K escaped the inning, retiring Jordan and doubling up Miller on the play, ending the inning.

Dinger retired Jan and struck out Josh K in the bottom of the fifth.

Cheap Goats added some insurance runs in the top of the sixth. Christian singled, and two batters later, Brett hit his second home run of the game, a two-run shot that put Cheap Goats in front 3-0. Joey followed with a double, but Josh K retired Miller to strand Joey at second, ending the inning.

Dinger stayed on the mound to close things out in the bottom of the sixth. After retiring Ryan, he allowed a one out single to Kyle. The rally would end there, however, as Dinger struck out Sean to end the game, giving Cheap Goats a 3-0 win.

The win moved Cheap Goats to 8-8 on the season, and the loss dropped Guacamol-yay to 5-11.

Mike Homers Three Times as Shady Characters Edge Guacamol-yay 6-5

Mike went deep three times, driving in all six of Shady Character’s runs, and Tom added three hits, as Shady Characters went up early and held on to defeat Guacamol-yay 6-5. Tom also pitched the complete game win, picking up his league-leading ninth win on the season.

Tom rolled through the top of the first, retiring Jan and Josh K in order.

Shady Characters offense blasted out of the gates, taking a big lead in the first inning. Guacamol-yay’s starter, Ryan, allowed a leadoff double to Dylan. The next batter, Mike, hit a two-run homer to right-center. Tom then doubled, and Lucas followed with a single. Dylan hit a sac fly to move Tom to third, putting runners on the corners with no outs. For the second time in the inning, Mike cleared the bases, this time with a three-run shot to right-center, and Shady Characters led 5-0. Ryan finally escaped the inning, retiring Tom for the second out.

Guacamol-yay bounced back in the top of the second. Kyle hit a one-out double, and Sean drove him in with a two-run homer, cutting the score to 5-2. Tom then retired Jan to end the inning.

Ryan retired Shady Characters in order in the bottom of the second, sending Lucas and Dylan down consecutively.

Lucas took over on the mound for Shady Characters in the top of the third, relieving Tom. Josh K led off the inning with a triple, but he was caught out trying to extend the hit into an inside-the-park homer. Lucas then retired Ryan to end the inning, and the score remained 5-2.

Ryan allowed a one-out single to Tom in the bottom of the third, but stranded him, retiring Lucas to end the inning.

Guacamol-yay pulled closer in the top of the fourth when Kyle led off the inning with a solo homer. Lucas then struck out Sean and retired Jan to end the inning, and the score was 5-3.

Shady Characters made up the run in the bottom of the fourth. With one out, Mike hit his third home run of the game, a solo shot that put Shady Characters in front 6-3. Tom followed with a single, but Ryan stranded him again, retiring Lucas to end the inning.

Guacamol-yay kept fighting in the top of the fifth. Josh K doubled to start the inning, and Ryan drove him in with an RBI double that made the score 6-4. Kyle then hit an RBI single, scoring Ryan, and the deficit was cut to 6-5. Guacamol-yay had pulled within a run with no outs in the fifth, but Lucas buckled down. He retired Sean and Jan to end the inning, and Shady Characters led by a run.

Ryan retired Dylan to start the bottom of the fifth. After intentionally walking Mike, Ryan retired Tom to strand Mike at first, ending the inning.

With a one run lead, Lucas remained on the mound to close things out for Guacamol-yay. He did it in quick fashion, sending Josh K and Ryan down in order, ending the inning and giving Shady Characters a 6-5 win.

The win moved Shady Characters to 11-4 on the season, and the loss dropped Guacamol-yay to 5-10.

Cheap Goats Outlast Guacamol-yay 5-4 to Snap Losing Streak

Opposing forces collided in week 7 when Guacamol-yay, on a five game winning streak, met Cheap Goats, on a five game losing streak. When all was said and done, both streaks had ended, as Cheap Goats came out on top 5-4. Joey had four hits, Jordan homered, and Miller contributed three extra-base hits in addition to pitching the complete game win, as Cheap Goats returned to .500 on the season.

Miller retired Guacamol-yay in order in the top of the first, sending Jan and Jude down consecutively.

Cheap Goats took an early lead in the bottom of the first. Miller led off the inning with a double, and Joey drove him in with an RBI single that made the score 1-0. Guacamol-yay’s starter, Jan, retired the next two batters, Jordan and Dinger, to strand Joey at first and end the inning.

Guacamol-yay evened things up in the top of the second. Alec led off with a triple, and when Ryan grounded out to left for the first out of the inning, Alec scored to tie the game at 1-1. Miller then retired Kyle to end the inning.

Cheap Goats pulled back in front in the bottom of the second. Joey hit a one-out double, and Jordan drove him in with an RBI single that made the score 2-1. Jan then retired Dinger to strand Jordan at first, ending the inning.

Jan singled to lead off the top of the third, but Miller stranded him, retiring Jude and Alec to end the inning.

Cheap Goats extended their lead in the bottom of the third. Miller led off with a triple, and two batters later, Jordan hit a two-run homer, putting Cheap Goats in front 4-1. Jan then retired Dinger to end the inning.

Down three, Guacamol-yay once again tied things up in the top of the fourth. Ryan led off the inning with a solo homer, narrowing the score to 4-2. Kyle doubled, and Jan drove him in with an RBI double, making the score 4-3. Two batters later, Alec hit a one-out RBI triple, scoring Jan, and the game was tied at 4-4. Miller then retired Ryan to strand Alec at third, ending the inning.

Miller immediately made up the damage by providing his own run support with a solo homer to lead off the bottom of the fourth. Joey then singled, but when Jordan flew out to shallow center, Alec doubled Joey up, ending the inning.

Miller rolled through the top of the fifth, retiring Kyle and Jan in order.

Dinger doubled to lead off the bottom of the fifth. Jan retired Miller, and then when Joey singled with one-out Dinger was caught in between bases, ending the inning.

Down a run, Guacamol-yay couldn’t conjure the magic to extend their winning streak in the top of the sixth. Miller retired Jude and Alec, ending the game and giving Cheap Goats a 5-4 win.

The win moved Cheap Goats to 7-7 on the season, and the loss dropped Guacamol-yay to 5-9.

Kyle’s Solo Homer in Seventh Inning Pushes Guacamol-yay to 3-2 Win Over Jack Shack

With the game tied at 2-2 in the top of the seventh inning, Kyle led off the extra innings with a solo homer, putting Guacamol-yay ahead 3-2. They shutdown Jack Shack in the bottom of the seventh, hanging on to win, notching their fifth straight victory.

Brian took the mound for Jack Shack, and after allowing a one-out double to Jude in the top of the first, he retired Alec, stranding Jude at second and ending the inning.

Ryan started for Guacamol-yay, and he retired the side in order in the bottom of the first, sending Adam and Brian down consecutively.

Guacamol-yay got on the board in the top of the second when Ryan led off the inning with a solo homer. Brian later allowed a one-out double to Jan, but escaped further damage, retiring Jude to strand Jan at second.

Jack Shack responded and took the lead in the bottom of the second. With one out, Josh D doubled, and the next batter, Adam, hit a two-run homer, putting Jack Shack in front 2-1. Ryan then retired Brian to end the inning.

Ryan singled with one out in the top of the third, but Brian stranded him, retiring Kyle to end the inning.

Josh D doubled with one out in the bottom of the third, but Jack Shack couldn’t extend their lead, as Ryan retired Adam to strand the runner, ending the inning.

Jude singled with one out in the top of the fourth, but Brian stranded another Guacamol-yay runner, retiring Alec to end the inning.

Brian led off the bottom of the fourth with a single, but when Dustin followed with a single, Brian was caught in between bases for the first out of the inning. Ryan then retired Josh D to strand Dustin at first, ending the inning with the score remaining 2-1.

Kyle singled with one out in the top of the fifth, but once again, Brian stranded a Guacamol-yay runner. He retired Jan, stranding Kyle at first, and Jack Shack continued to lead 2-1.

Down a run in their final at-bat, Guacamol-yay rallied in the top of the sixth. Jude led off with a triple, putting the tying run in scoring position with no outs. Brian got the next batter, Alec, to ground out for the first out of the inning, but Jude scored on the play, tying the game at 2-2. Brian then retired Ryan to end the inning.

Guacamol-yay made an interesting strategic decision to start the bottom of the sixth, intentionally walking Dustin, putting the winning run on base with no outs. The move paid off, as Ryan retired Adam and Josh D, stranding Dustin at first, sending the game to extra innings.

Kyle led off the top of the seventh, and he hit a solo homer, putting Guacamol-yay ahead 3-2. Two batters later, Jude hit a single, and Alec followed with a single, putting two runners on with one out. It looked as if Guacamol-yay would blow the game open, but Brian escaped further damage, retiring Ryan to strand both runners, and the score was 3-2.

Ryan stayed on the mound to close things out in the bottom of the seventh, and he made quick work of Jack Shack. He retired Brian and Dustin in order, ending the game, giving Guacamol-yay the 3-2 extra-innings win.

The win moved Guacamol-yay to 5-8 on the season, and the loss dropped Jack Shack to 5-8.

Kyle of Guacamol-yay Named Pabst Blue Ribbon Wiffler of the Week

Kyle of Guacamol-yay was named the Pabst Blue Ribbon Wiffler of the Week for the second time during his 2021 rookie campaign.

Kyle helped Guacamol-yay win their third and fourth straight games in week 6, moving them to 4-6 on the season.

In a 2-1 win over Jack Shack, Kyle went 2-for-3 with a single, a double, and an RBI.

In a 6-4 win over Shady Characters, Kyle went 3-for-4 with a single, a double, a triple, a run scored, an RBI, and four putouts in the field.

In total, Kyle went 5-for-7 with three extra-base hits in week 6.

Kyle has now been named PBR Wiffler of the Week twice in the first six weeks of his EWL career.
