Sean of Guacamol-yay Voted Pabst Blue Ribbon Wiffler of the Week for Week 6

Sean of Guacamol-yay became the first player in 2020 to unanimously be named Wiffler of the Week after his dominant week 6 performance.

In a unanimous vote Sean of Guacamol-yay was named PBR Wiffler of the Week for week 5 of the 2020 EWL season.

Sean was unstoppable at the plate, swinging a red hot bat that lifted Guacamol-yay to two decisive wins and continued their climb up the EWL standings.

In a blowout win over Cheap Goats, Sean went four-for-six with two singles, two home runs, three runs scored, and five RBI.

In another relatively easy win over Shady Characters, Sean went three-for-four with a triple, two home runs, two runs scored, and five RBI.

In total Sean went seven-for-ten with two singles, a triple, four homers, five runs scored, and ten RBI in Guacamol-yay’s two week 6 victories.

This is the first time in Sean’s career that he has been named PBR Wiffler of the Week.

Brian of Jack Shack Voted Pabst Blue Ribbon Wiffler of the Week for Week 5

Brian went 5-for-7 with two home runs, pitched the first shutout of 2020, and led Jack Shack to two wins in week 5, and was named Pabst Blue Ribbon Wiffler of the Week.

In a narrow vote split between Brian of Jack Shack and Jude of Guacamol-yay, Brian was named PBR Wiffler of the Week for week 5 of the 2020 EWL season.

Brian was strong at the plate and on the mound, leading Jack Shack to two wins in week 5. He helped Jack Shack finish the first half of the season strong, and despite missing 2019 Wiffle Series co-MVP Adam for multiple games due to injury, the defending champs were in sole possession of first place in the EWL standings at the midway point of the regular season.

Brian outmatched Christian in a pitcher’s duel in Jack Shack’s 3-0 win over Cheap Goats. Brian pitched a five-hit shutout, the first of his career and the first of the 2020 EWL season. He also went 2-for-3 at the plate with a double, a home run, and two RBI, providing himself enough run support for the win.

In a 4-3 win over Guacamol-yay, Brian went 3-for-4 with a single, triple, home run, and two RBI.

In total for the week, Brian went 5-for-7 with a single, a double, a triple, two home runs, three runs scored, and four RBI.

This is Brian’s second career Wiffler of the Week honor. He was also named Wiffler of the Week for week 3 of the 2019 season.

Mike of Shady Characters Voted Pabst Blue Ribbon Wiffler of the Week for Week 4

Mike had four home runs, including a rare Grand Slam, to lead Shady Characters to two victories in week 4. He also received a record number of votes for Wiffler of the Week.

After receiving the most votes a player has ever received in the ten year history of the EWL (29), Mike of Shady Characters was named Pabst Blue Ribbon Wiffler of the Week for week 4 of the 2020 season.

Mike has been the spark that ignited Shady Characters revival after a disappointing start to the season, and his play at the plate and in the field has lifted them into contention, particularly his dominant week 4 performance.

In Shady Characters’ revenge win over Cheap Goats, when they scored thirteen runs in the top of the first inning, Mike went 6-for-7 with three singles, a double, two home runs, five runs scored, and five RBI. He also hit only the fifth ever regular season Grand Slam in the history of the EWL.

Against Jack Shack, Mike went 4-for-8 with a single, a double, two home runs, three runs scored, and five RBI in the 15-9 Shady Characters victory.

In total for the week, he went 10-for-15 with four homers, and he also registered nine putouts in the field, leading Shady Characters.

As the number two hitter in the Shady Characters lineup, Mike has quickly become one of the most dangerous hitters in the league, and he has made the two-time runners-up a legit championship contender in 2020.

This is the first time in Mike’s career that he has been honored as Wiffler of the Week.

Joey of Cheap Goats Voted Pabst Blue Ribbon Wiffler of the Week for Week 3

Joey went 8-for-11 with seven extra base hits in week 3, and was voted PBR Wiffler of the Week for the second consecutive week.

2019 EWL Wiffler of the Year, Joey, earned Pabst Blue Ribbon Wiffler of the Week honors in week 3. This is the second consecutive week that Joey has earned Wiffler of the Week honors.

Joey continued his strong start to the 2020 season, which is now at a record-setting pace, with two impressive games in week 3. In a win over Shady Characters, Joey went 5-for-5 with three doubles, two home runs, four runs scored, and three RBI. In a win over Jack Shack, he went 3-for-6 with a single, two home runs, three runs scored, and three RBI. In total, Joey went 8-for-11 in week 3, leading Cheap Goats to two wins and a 5-1 record through the first three weeks of the season. Through three weeks, Joey was already approaching his 2019 Wiffler of the Year season totals.

This is the fifteenth time in Joey’s career that he has been named EWL Wiffler of the Week, and the first time he has been honored in back-to-back weeks.

Cheap Goats have now won all three of the Wiffler of the Week awards to this point in the 2020 season. This is the 4th time in league history that a team has won three or more consecutive Wiffler of the Week awards. In 2012 the Caucasians had four consecutive winners with Ron, Morrison, Frosty, and Les across weeks 7 through 10 of the regular season. In 2018, Loss Mitigation had three or more consecutive Wiffler of the Week winners an incredible three times throughout the season. Mike (twice) and Bob won weeks 1 through 3, Mike, Nate and Bob won weeks 6 through 8, and Bob (three times) and Mike won four in a row from week 10 through the 2018 playoffs.

Joey of Cheap Goats Voted Pabst Blue Ribbon Wiffler of the Week for Week 2

Joey had seven extra-base hits in week 2, including four doubles, a triple, and two home runs, and was voted Wiffler of the Week for week 2 of the 2020 EWL season.

Joey continued his hot start to the 2020 season, putting in another productive week after moving to the leadoff spot for Cheap Goats, as they split their week two games.

In a win over Guacamol-yay, Joey led Cheap Goats to a 3-0 start to the season, going 4-for-6 with three doubles, a triple, three runs, and three RBI. In a loss to Jack Shack, Joey went 4-for-5 with a double, a triple, two home runs, four runs scored, and four RBI. In total, Joey went 8-for-11 and finished week 2 atop many of the league leader categories. Cheap Goats were 3-1 after four games, alone atop the EWL season standings.

This is the fourteenth time in Joey’s career that he has been named EWL Wiffler of the Week, including three times throughout the 2019 season.
